A Day Private Tour(borobudur,merapi Lava Tour, Prambanan)

The two day tour was such an amazing experience. Mas Rio is a very good driver and knowledgeable guide. If you like history, culture, politics, want to local, authentic, rich culture of Jogja, Borobudur, Prambanan and the many temples sprinkled in the region, look no further. He patiently explained all the questions I had (there were many 🤣) My boyfriend and I are already planning to come back for more in-depth tour with him. P.s: he’s also a great phone photographer and very funny!

Today, I had the chance to have Rio as my guide, and I couldn’t have asked for a better one. He’s smart, knowledgeable and funny, which made visiting the temples not only a real pleasure but also a great opportunity to learn more about this beautiful country. Our day trip from Yogyakarta covered the Prambanan temple complex and several hidden, beautiful Buddhist, Hindu, and syncretic temple sites. We finished with a stunning sunset from a hill temple attended only by locals. Rio was kind, highly communicative, and shared fascinating facts about Javanese culture, history, and traditions. Due to unexpected circumstances on our end, we had to delay our start by a few hours. We were incredibly grateful for Rio's flexibility. With total ease and agility, he rearranged our itinerary and offered alternative destinations so we could still enjoy a full, unforgettable day of sightseeing. We highly recommend him!

Super experience! Very good communication with Rio, the organiser and driver. It was a very interesting day with a lot of history and cultural information from Rio. We did the Borobodur sunset, Prambanan visit, and we visited a special coffee place kopi Luwak. Very much recommended

Had a really good experience with Satrio during our trip. He’s super friendly, easy to talk to, and very helpful throughout the whole journey. We ended up with just a day to experience Yogyakarta, and Wedha was great to help us make the most of it. He was kind and accommodating with my kids along and even getting us at the airport.

We had the best day on this trip. Our driver Rio was passionate and knowledgeable. He arrived at 7.15am on the dot and he started the day by taking us to a delicious soto place for breakfast. We then continued to Prambanan temple where we had 2 glorious hours to walk around the temple complex which is just stunning. He took us around the local area to see some other temples before we headed up Mt Merapi for a jeep tour. This was a great tour with another really wonderful guide - lots of different options for the jeep tour. Next was a tasty lunch at a lovely restaurant near Borobudur. We had tickets booked for the 2.30pm session to go up the temple structure but we arrive for the 3.30pm session on Rio's advice which meant we were there for sunset. Borobudur is one of the most spectacular places I have ever been in my life and it was a spectacular experience. Rio then drove us back to Yogya to a delicious icecream place before dropping us back to our hotel. I would strongly recommend Rio - nothing was too much trouble, he answered all our questions and he had so much knowledge about Java - current and history that he really wanted to impart to us. This day exceeded my expectations and I'm so glad I booked it.

This was an absolutely amazing day!!! A true highlight for all of us on our travels through Indonesia. Our driver, Rio, picked us up right on time at our Airbnb and first brought us to the Borobudur Temple. He told us a lot about the history and culture of the city along the way. We were not able to get tickets to the temple structure ahead of time because they were sold out, but Rio coordinated last minute VIP tickets that were only about $10 USD more than the normal tickets and included a private guide. Would still recommend booking your tickets ahead of time to avoid the last minute stress. After that, we went to the Merapi jeep tour, which was so much fun. We had a lot of laughs as we sped around in a 1940s jeep. Rio then brought us to a beautiful lunch spot amidst the rice paddies. We ended the day with a sunset tour around Prambanan temple, which was stunning. We did not have to book those tickets in advance and they have guides ready to take you around there. Rio then dropped us off at Malioboro Street, which was wonderful to walk through. Would highly recommend this tour to everyone and Rio was an exceptional guide!

We travelled with Rio as our driver/guide Jogja area for two days. First day to Borobudur, Mirapi lava tour and Prabunan temple. On the Second day to Jomblang cave and Timang beach. We got very nice trip with Rio and he told so many stories about our visited places and history of Jogja. We suggest everybody can get the excellent Jogja tour with Javanease Vaccination.

We did both the Borobudur and Perampanam one day tour as well as the Jemplamg cave and Pindol cave and river tubing with Javanese. It was a last minute booking , but we had an incredible experience both days . A special shout out to Wedha our driver who was not only very pleasant and cheerful but also very patient and flexible. He went out of his way to show us special places including where to get the best Kopi Luwak, Bakpia and Gedug. The river tubing and Pindal cave tubing with Arif as our guide ( Kang Haris Pindul) was also excellent

I went alone and the guide is great telling me all the details about Yogyakarta and history. The guide is sociable and made good conversation with me We went to both Temple sites, merapi and had traditionally cooked foods such as mie goreng and pangsit. During the foods we witnessed a special live music concert at the restaurant. The car is nice and comfortable with good AC too

Our guide Ardi is a very sweet and helpful guy. He arrived at our place right in time to drive us through the whole day in Yogyakarta's chaotic traffic (around 6 hrs in total!). At every attraction he helped us how to get in and get around. Made a photo of us at the beginning then he gave us privacy to explore at our own pace, and waited for us in his car with cold refreshing water. It was a very exciting and beautiful day tour! Please note, that at the 4x4 jeep tour at Merapi volcano can be paid only by cash.

You can visit Yogyakarta main sites in a day by this tour. I departed from the hotel in city center at 7am and came back before 6am. I enjoyed all of 3 main sites, a coffee factory and the lunch. Considering the weather, schedule has been adjusted. I think this tour is organized.

I was very interested and curious about the temples in Indonesia and had the opportunity to visit two of them. Very happy to able to visit one of the largest temples and learnt about the unique history and philosophy. My guide Weda also helped me understand the rules and instructions when at the tourist attractions. For the lava tour, it was very stressful because I had never been this close to a volcano before, and the shaking made me really scared. Very good experience.

Rio was fantastically responsive and was able to customise one of his trips to suit our interests and itinerary. He was also great at suggesting additional things to look at or accomodating our additional requests en route (for example finding some batik trousers for our daughter). The car was comfortable, his driving was excellent. We loved it and would recommend booking directly with Javanese Vacation to sort out your visit.

Driver was very engaging and informative. The temples and volcano were most impressive. Do note that it says in the tour details that admission to the temples and lunch is not included in the price, so do bring payment (we paid admissions by credit card, but temple guides were paid in cash). On leaving temples, there were many many hawkers trying to sell souvenirs to navigate through, but for the most part, they were respectful when we said no. The jeep ride was particularly fun.

Mr Hotma was a safe driver, punctual and mindful of our special needs son. Gave good suggestions on food choices / cafes/ gelato and places to go. We hired him throughout our 5 days in Yogyakarta and drove up to the Ambarawa Train Museum as well.

Great day. Everything was organised by our wonderful guide Didik. He was super attentive all day. He organised great guides at both temples. We learnt so much about Indonesia culture in our conversations in between activities. He went over and beyond with advice for next stages of travel etc. He kept kids fed on long car trips and provided great resto tips etc. Would definitely recommend anyone booking this trip - or anything in Yogyakarta- to ask for him specifically!

The driver was kind and flexible to accommodate my tight schedule to visit temples, restaurant for lunch and drop me off at the international airport. I skipped the volcano part due to tight schedule. The entrance tickets of the temples were reserved in advance, so it was easy and quick to visit there. Thank you!

Kick started our tour by visiting Prambanan temple compound. The main site was crowded, but we did get a chance to climb into one of the temples. The views from the top floors was spectacular. And the carvings were gorgeous. There are many temple sites within the same compound. Would strongly advise to bring sunblock and an umbrella as the sun is not to be trifled with. Pathways between temples can be long, but the walk was enjoyable, beautiful gardens and trees lined up these pathways. There are options for our tour guides and hiring buggies as well. We then moved on to Merapi where we hired a jeep to take us to see the volcano (subject to weather, it was very cloudy when we had gone however the view was still amazing) Depending on the package, your tour may also include a visit to an old bunker and museum, both a chilling reminder of nature's wrath. Finally we visited Borobudor, and as we got tickets to visit all the way to the top (while selecting tickets, you must choose an experience based on either architecture or history) we were blessed with rain. Needless to say, the entire experience was gorgeous, most of the crowds had gone by then and it felt like a VIP tour with just us and the tour guide explaining various carvings and the significance of the architecture. A huge shoutout to our guide Rio who organized this entire day trip for us. When we were pressed for time, he made sure we made it to the sites and got to experience these major highlights. He was always looking after our comfort, picking us and dropping us off to suit our convenience, offering us coconut juice, snake fruits to snack on and at the end, he took us to an amazing place for dinner. He also took us to have some Kopi Luwak so fulfil our caffeine dose for the day. The car he was driving us in was very comfortable, AC and water bottles equipped. We had an amazing day in Yogyakarta thanks to Rio. Got some amazing shots as well. Will definitely be in touch again, highly recommended tour!

Contacted Rio for a bespoke one day tour taking in the temples and anything else he suggested that wasn’t too touristy. Rosemary had a bad leg so we didn’t want too much walking. The two temple complexes were amazing and well worth the visits. Rio was a really good guide with lots of local knowledge, gsh and a good safe driver. Included a coconut sugar farm which due to Ramadan had shut early but the lady gave us a small sample to take away. Additional temples that had been previously buried by ash. Really nice Batik studio where we found our signature piece for Indonesia. Lunch and a lawak coffee shop. Rio was concerned that we had seen enough for the day which was over ten hours. Thoroughly recommend this tour.

Wedha as a top notch tour guide. Wonderful English speaking ability but more importantly, easy to talk to and so much knowledge of general culture and history he can share when you ask. This adds to the tour and experience. Sites were amazing. Wedha and his company did save us with site ticket issues we had. Be ready for some incredible views. Do advise a big breakfast, lunch was on the later side. Great location and food but can be after 2pm. We did not see the volcano but that is mother nature for you.

The temples were amazing and Rio went above and beyond as a tour guide. He took me to some other places of exactly what I was looking for. We only didn't have enough time to see batik, but he even offered to take me early the next morning before I had to catch my train. Rio is also very knowledgeable about the area and provided a lot of interesting information about the area. The only disappointment I had was the name of the tour, which says "Merapi Lava Tour". I didn't get to see Merapi or lava. It was no fault of Rio since only Jeeps are allowed to the peak, but the name of the tour is a little misleading. I was really excited to see Merapi since it's the most active volcano in Indonesia and was bummed to not even get to see it from afar.

Our tour was just Prambanan and Borobudur but we enjoyed it very much. Our driver Wedha was great. He assisted us all the way. He speaks good English that we had a good conversation. Both temples are great! I can recommend this tour.

The trip was great. The car was very comfortable and Kadek, the driver, was very nice and polite. We were really quick in visiting some temples as it was a hot day so he was kind and offered us to go to different places. The tour was organised and we enjoyed our time. Highly recommend.

Viewing the temples is a mesmerising experience that has to be done when visiting Java. I had a great time with Wedha, who drove me to each destination. He was very friendly and talkative. Unfortunately we could not visit merapi volcano because the weather was too overcast and we wouldn't be able to see it. However Wedha adjusted the itinerary and took me to another temple near the Prambanan complex. I had a great experience and the only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the price of the entrance fees for each destination aren't clearly listed on TripAdvisor. This means that the price overall is a fair bit more expensive than the listing price on TripAdvisor. Also in Borobudur, I would have liked a little bit more time to explore the temple, it felt a little rushed but I understand they want to allow more visitors despite there being a maximum capacity of people allowed into the temple at one time. I was also very happy with my tour guide in Prambanan. He was very knowledgeable and told the whole story of the complex with no hesitations, stopping to take my photo regularly. I then got to explore the complex for as long as I wanted. To conclude, I would definitely recommend this tour, just make sure you bring enough cash to pay for the entrance fees, and if you can, ask for Wedha to be your guide as he is the man for the job.

Amazing tour. We were well taken care of by Rio, our driver/guide, and Budi, our personal guide at Borobudur temple. Rio was very efficient, and arranged the itinerary, tickets, personal guides very well. He is also very friendly and knowledgeable. Budi was our personal guide at Borobudur. He was a unique person, knowledgeable, funny, enthusiastic, witty. I also want to commend our personal guide at Prambanan (forgot his full name). Everybody was marvellous. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Will recommend Rio (Javanese Vacation) to anybody else in a heartbeat.

We did 2 tours with Wedha, one temples and another ones 2 caves tour during this weekend, and it was AMAZING. Wedha is very patient person and can accomodate all you requests. He knew the city very well, could give tips and recommendations for anything, also for another cities. I have asked for recommendations in Bali as it is my next destination and he could advise a lot of things to do and places to stay. Also he knows hidden gems of city (a tip: ask him to take you luwak coffee place). He took us to good restaurants with nice food and not overpriced. He helped to get all the tickets and gave info in every place. Very friendly and patient person. Lastly and most importantly, he drives VERY SAFE, it is very important because you can expect anything from drivers in Indonesia, but with Wedha we were feeling super safe, he was never speeding or doing dangereous movements. The car is also very new and comfortable. Definetely a recommendation. One more tip: book direcly from tour company. Google their name and contact via wp. You get much better price ;)

Great day today with Rio as our guide. He speaks good English and our trip was so much better for his explanations of the local area and the Indonesian history and culture. The added extras were: Rio could get the best tickets, such as being able to climb to the top of Borabodur . He took us through the villages and explained the local crops. Rio bought and introduced us to some new tropical fruits. The car was cool and comfortable and Rio's driving was careful. Unfortunately the volcano was in cloud, but that is just the time of year.

This trip was amazing! Our driver Rio was super nice and catered the experience to our likes. We were only in Yogyakarta for roughly 24 hours so he spent the entire day showing us the must-sees of the area. He even spent the evening trying to find us some fruit that we’ve trying to find for years! He was extremely friendly, fun and a great presence to spend a day with. Highly recommend Rio!!
