We stayed at The Taikang Sanya with our family of 4, including two kids 9 & 7, for a night and it was honestly flawless. *Rooms & Design: 10/10* The rooms are huge — balconies and ocean views. This resort was designed like an ancient walled city, and it shows. Wooden hut-style rooms perched over stone public areas, with bamboo, rattan, and Li minority textiles everywhere. Spacious, spotless, beautifully decorated with all amenities. For Families: 10/10 This place was built for kids. Warm pools, endless sun beds, open + indoor playgrounds, children’s water park, animators, kids’ club, babysitting available. Our kids never got bored. The complimentary water park + 24-hour laundry were bonuses. Beach is across the street — clean, white sand, warm water. Food: 9/10 Breakfast is incredible — massive buffet with exotic fruits, Asian + American options, not spicy, something for everyone. Service: 10/10 Staff were exceptional. Receptionist & Butler helped with everything — directions, lost items, bookings & late check-out. Most don’t speak fluent English/Russian, but WeChat translate solved it and everyone was kind, patient, friendly. Grounds & Vibe: 10/10 50% greening rate. Central water courtyard, floating lantern lobby, ocean views framed everywhere. Pools are wide, sparkling clean. Evening shows and performances. Location: 9/10 Haitang District, 5-min drive to Haitang Bay + Wuzihzhou Island Beach. 17km to Yalongwan Station, 38km to Sanya Phoenix Airport. 3.8 mi to Atlantis Water Park. Only downside: some construction nearby with daytime noise, but we barely noticed it and it didn’t affect our stay. Overall Clean, spacious, luxurious, and genuinely family-friendly without feeling like a kid’s resort. Service was beyond 5 stars. We felt treated like VIPs the entire week. Wi-Fi excellent throughout.

Very good hotel, from Marriott group located in Haytang Bay, Sanya. The hotel is around 40/60min by taxi from Sanya airport. The hotel is well maintained, beautiful and huge. You will find swimming pool for adults and another one for kids with water attraction as slide. The swimming pool for adult was most of the time empty ( November). The few people coming are the ones for taking photoshoot all around the hotel, pool included. The hotel has a free washing machine room with 4 washings machine and 2 dryers. Here things can be improve as on many occurrences we found washing/drying cycling finished since many hours and guests doesn’t come to take out their clothes to allo others guests to wash/dry their clothes. This lack of respects create people to be disappointed. I recommended hotel to find a way to monitor it by room card to initiate a cycle hence you can know which room to contact to ask their to remove their clothes to allow other guests to use machines There are kids playground around the hotel with even a kid garden where you can let your kids and people will take care of them. They are 4/5 restaurants around the hotel, serving different types of food. A bar is available on the last floor ( level 6) named Pink Salt, we were there every evening for a drink and we rarely see people. Not sure if this period November is empty or we had different habits than other hotel’s guests. The breakfast is huge and mainly Asian with some westerners dishes. It tends to be very packed after 9:00am hence if you want quiet and peaceful environment for breakfast go between 7:00 and 9:00am There are as well a gym at the last floor (level 6). The gym is tiny compared to the numbers of rooms, however as well, we rarely see people there. There is a kind of small supermarket inside the hotel opened until midnight. They sell fruits and can cut it for you, very nice, tasty and good. Price are per kilos, for ideas delicious mango were 25 yuan for 1kg, passion fruit 25 yuan for 500 gr We got an « aqua room » located on the second floor, all of the room on the second floor has a bathub on the balcony to enjoy nice chilling day. The room is nice , well decorated with big television with easy access to hdmi port if you need to connect a device. Bathroom is huge with bathtub and shower included Bed confortable which will allow you to sleep like a baby Hotel staff doesn’t speak English for most of them, hence you will use Translate on your phone which is totally fine in China. We met a nice receptionist who speaks really good English and it was nice to speak without a phone. As Sanya tend to attract more international tourists, it will be nice to train more staff to English . Few of the staff speaks Russian. Hotel has a show every day at 8:20pm Most of all, all staff were very nice, professional and kind. All public restrooms in the hotel are big sign no smoking however I find in many times , cigarette in the toilet, with heavy cigarette smoke odors in toilet and even few times in lift. This show a lot of lack of respects from people there, this one should be investigated by hotel as you have plenty of camera. Find people, report them and exclude them from your resort. Only remark was the noise during the day causing by many people doing professional photoshoot all around the hotel and their photographer screams to them as they are from far distance. I know China has a huge culture of taking photo professionally everywhere however the noise generated by people screaming is a bit excessive when you are in a resort to chill. Price wise, I tried to find through Marriot however the price was close to 850 euros for 4 days for an aqua room. While looking on hotels aggregator website , booking dot com has a best deal for 460€. Hence feel free to compare. If you speak Chinese I am sure you will even find better deal on WeChat or influencers streams as many Asian influencers/content creators are doing hours of livestream inside this hotel to promote it .
Fabulous new modern 'boutique' hotel. Beautiful breakfast buffet was very tasty with local & western foods. 😀 A good mix of kid & adult pools.
Amazing hotel. Went here twice (june 2023 and february 2025). Very close to the south china sea. Impressive waves. I love the garden around the hotel. I love the central patio with its pond. I love the breakfast. I love having dinner at the Chinese restaurant (I was disappointed that the last time they didn't have the green baobun they had the first time). The tiramisu and coffee at the cafe are great. The gym is good, though a little bit small and it is in popular demand, even if the hotel is not fully booked. Last time they gave us a "free" photoshoot, free meaning you get to have 5 pictures digitally. However, our photographer was really good and made the photoshoot a memorable event. Buying all the photos digitally and one album cost us about 3000 yuan. The cost of this hotel is the only reason for not staying here permanently. In two visits I did not encounter a single unfriendly member of staff. Compared to other hotels on Hainan, there is a decent amount of Western food options, albeit more for breakfast than for dinner.
