Soluxe Hotel Guangzhou

The hotel was very disappointing and far from what the photos and online reviews suggested. The property is clearly outdated and in urgent need of a full renovation. From the moment you arrive, there’s a noticeable damp smell throughout the floor and inside the room, which was my biggest issue during the stay. On the 35th floor, the corridor also smelled strongly of cigarettes. The room itself showed visible signs of wear, with dirty patches on the walls and ceiling where paint repairs had been poorly done. The staff were doing their best, but maintenance alone cannot fix how old and worn down the hotel feels. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, the view was nice, and the location next to Tianhe Park is convenient. The gym is old but well-equipped. However, this is definitely not a 5-star hotel as advertised on Google Maps.

This was our first time going to China, so we based our decision on the ratings when booking this hotel, especially since we were attending the Canton Fair 2026. We arrived on April 30, 2026, and were assigned a room on the 37th floor. As soon as we opened the door, we immediately noticed a strong moldy smell. The room is carpeted, and the carpet looked dirty—especially noticeable because it’s a light cream color. It also smelled like cigarette smoke. We informed the concierge and requested a room change, explaining the moldy odor. However, instead of transferring us, they said they would send an air humidifier. This made it seem like the issue had already been reported before. Unfortunately, the smell did not improve. The moldy and cigarette odors were still very noticeable—not just in the room, but also in the hallway. Even the washroom had visible mold. We were very disappointed because the hotel is advertised as a 5-star property, but based on our experience, it did not meet those standards at all. I would personally rate it as a 3-star hotel

We are here for fair amd good location. Very conveniently to access most of the places. Room is very fresh and plenty of space that also have office desk too. Stuff are very friendly. Good for ciuple days staying amd working as a office. The room has amazing city view. Definitely worth the star

For the beginning of our trip to China and the city of Guangzhou, we chose this hotel. The location was excellent, with very easy access to the metro and just a short distance from the Canton Fair exhibition center. The staff were polite and friendly, and we were given a wonderful room on the 41th floor with a beautiful river view. The room was spacious, clean, and modern. The hotel also offered a good breakfast. It didn’t fully match our taste preferences, but you could easily find something to enjoy. Overall, it was a great experience, and considering the facilities and services, the price was very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this hotel.❤️🌹
