I've stayed at this hotel at least 4 times since 2018 - every time I go to Shantou. A very beautiful modern hotel in a convenient central Chenghai Shantou location. Excellent breakfast, large and clean room, modern amenities and friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

During my business visit to Shantou, I stayed at the Howard Johnson hotel. While the room was decent, it was quite small. The pricing, however, is on the higher side compared to hotels even in larger cities in China. The breakfast was particularly disappointing—one of the worst I’ve experienced. I would strongly recommend skipping it if possible. Although the hotel claims to be international, it offered no dinner options for vegans. The restaurant staff was unaccommodating and refused to serve even a simple bowl of plain rice, as it was not part of their menu.

Since the hotel is relatively new, facilities are well designed and maintained. Services and breakfast is good with plenty of selections. Rooms are decent size but not big. Location is convenient with local downtown vicinity but don't expect a gorgeous view. Overall 4 star rating from my experience.
