If you're a English speaking person, you will have problems here. I've traveled 100+ countries usually at Marriott. I've never had issues communicating (even Russia) at marriott until this hotel. The executive lounge is a joke. Food is cheap and terrible. There is zero control from the staff with guests to be polite and considerate. Loud kids running, guests watching movies at full volume, etc. Here's a Pic of the EVERYDAY snack from 230 to 430: peanut butter and jelly, on stale bread. SERIOUSLY? And they even skimp on the peanut butter and jelly 😅
We had a very pleasant stay at JW Marriott Dadonghai Sanya, and would like to sincerely thank the hotel team for their warmth and thoughtfulness.
We happened to be staying during our child’s birthday, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a beautifully decorated room along with a birthday cake in advance. Our child was overjoyed the moment she entered the room and stayed happy for a long time — the care and effort truly touched our hearts.
The room was comfortable and well arranged, with great attention to detail. The hotel is very family-friendly and provides various amenities for children, which made us feel relaxed and well taken care of from the moment we checked in.
We would especially like to thank Lydia, the Executive Lounge Manager, for her attentive, professional, and warm service throughout our stay. Her care made us feel not just like guests, but like old friends being genuinely looked after.
This was a stay that both adults and our child thoroughly enjoyed, and it gave our child an unforgettable birthday memory. We would definitely choose this hotel again when returning to Sanya and would happily recommend it to friends and family.
If you're looking for a hotel with an absolutely breathtaking location, look no further than the JW Marriott Dadonghai Sanya. The sea views from my room were extraordinary! Don't be daunted by the size—this busy hotel runs like a well-oiled machine.
I enjoyed the Executive Club. The staff were incredibly efficient (Selena ) and helpful with my planning, and the 5 PM happy hour was a feast! The location is perfect for water sports and exploring the many local restaurants (just note they cater heavily to the international, particularly Russian, tourist market).
A word to the wise: hit breakfast before 9 AM to beat the crowds. Also, a huge shout-out to James ZHEN and Miss Sweet & Selena in the executive club & to the staff in Moto Miss Fay who went above and beyond to help me .I highly recommend this JW Marriott—just book a mid-week stay to enjoy a slightly quieter atmosphere.
Disappointed by my stay here. I booked a Deluxe Double Room for 2 nights. Posting this on my first night. Room is visibly aged. Service is good and it has all the amenities that you would expect of a 5 star hotel of this stature, but the rooms are far below standard. Recommend not to stay here, pick somewhere newer!

Not pictured: tear in pillowcase that is still being used; joinery of bathroom showerhead is loose. I hope I don't find more signs of wear and tear.
good service by eva. was a bit annoyed when she told us the previous hotel had not confirmed our checkout hours after we had left, so she could not check us in. she helped call them multiple times to resolve this. room was nice but a/c runs intermittently, affecting my sleep a lot, being the main downside. buffet breakfast was mid. i enjoyed the small, clean balcony though, as well as the shower.
