Jen Shenzhen Qianhai By Shangri-la

Stayed at this hotel for a business trip. Impressed by the facilities and amenities. While not a top five star experience, this is an excellent hotel for business trips and if you want a full gym experience. The gym area is probably the best I've ever seen, rivaling and besting many proper gyms. Swimming here requires a swim cap. This hotel is excellent value.

I stayed at JEN Shenzhen Qianhai By Shangri-La with my family for two nights in June 2024. While the hotel is very modern and the facilities are decent, the location proved to be quite challenging for a family trip. It feels a bit remote, as the property is not directly close to the metro or many surrounding amenities. Because of this, we found ourselves having to constantly call taxis just to get around or find places to eat. If you are traveling with kids and prefer walking to local shops, cafes, or subway stations, you might want to factor in the extra time and hassle of arranging transportation for every outing.

We didn’t stay at this hotel but went here for drinks at Qianhai Brewery, one of the restaurants that is part of the hotel. Really worth the trip there, with live band and promo for the hand crafted beer. I think the atmosphere was really great even though it was not too crowded. Go to dianping to get your coupons, to make it more worthwhile.

I am laying in the damp feeling bed right now on the most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. This mattress is thin and hard- not firm, but hard like a rock. The blanket and pillows feel damp. I have never slept in a room this small my entire life. There is no refrigerator. There is no vending machine. I was chased down at the pool because I had a cover up over my bathing suit and they thought I was going swimming in my clothes? They told me to get undressed in the other room. I told them no. Then I showed my bathing suit and they were OK. My phone wouldn't charge because it got moisture in the charging port (probably from the damp room) and they were entirely unhelpful. I think this room might have bed bugs. They wanted 1k USD to do laundry. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. I really did not enjoy my stay here. There are cheaper hotels a couple of miles away. Stay there.
