We stayed here for a weekend getaway to celebrate my mom's birthday. It's about a 45-minute drive from Futian Port, making it an easy escape and it's definitely one of the nicest resorts in the area. I was in touch with Guest Services about a week before our arrival. There were a few minor miscommunications initially, but the team made up for them during our stay with their attentiveness and hospitality. A special thank you to the hotel for helping us celebrate my mom’s birthday. They arranged lovely birthday decorations in the room and provided a cake, which was such a thoughtful surprise and made her celebration feel extra special. Overall the staff were friendly and welcoming, especially the housekeeping team. While not everyone spoke English, that was never an issue since there was always someone available to assist us. Check-in was smooth and we were offered an early check-in at around 11:00am with Platinum Elite status. One thing to note is that we did have some issues connecting to the Wi-Fi during our stay. It only started working properly toward the end of our trip, so if you need reliable internet access for work, this is something to keep in mind. Shortly after checking in we had lunch at Azure, located in the quieter Club InterContinental wing— which is accessible by a complimentary golf cart. This side of the resort felt more peaceful and contemporary. It's a better option for couples or guests looking for a quieter atmosphere. Everything we ordered was delicious, especially the arrabbiata pasta and the scallop risotto. Our room was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The beds were great, and we enjoyed the beautiful ocean view. While some parts of the resort are beginning to show their age, everything was still well maintained. The pool area was enjoyable overall and the beach is just steps away, making it easy to enjoy both. One area that could use improvement was underneath the staircase by the pool, where we noticed quite a bit of litter and debris. We also noticed that the hotel allows food delivery, and many guests were enjoying outside food by the pool. There didn't appear to be dedicated poolside bar service during our visit but the lobby bar nearby made it easy to grab drinks to go. Breakfast at Commune was the highlight of our stay. Even though we arrived close to the end of service, the staff warmly encouraged us to take our time and enjoy our meal. The buffet offered an excellent variety of Chinese and Western breakfast dishes, a noodle station, fresh pastries, juices, and much more. Everything was fresh and delicious. We also had dinner at Mankok. The menu leaned more toward Thai-inspired cuisine rather than traditional Thai flavors. My favorites were the pineapple fried rice and pomelo and scallop salad. The restaurant also has a separate dining and play area for children, making it a good choice for families. All of desserts at the hotel were surprisingly good as well. We tried a few and enjoyed all of them. If you enjoy sweets, I would definitely recommend trying some of the desserts at the Lobby Lounge. They offer an afternoon tea set for those looking for something in a relaxing setting. Although we didn't have much time to explore the surrounding area, it appeared to be very walkable with easy access to the beachfront. Overall, we had a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The resort has a beautiful beachfront location, comfortable rooms, and good service. With a few updates to some of the facilities and better attention to cleanliness in certain outdoor areas, it would be an even better experience. I would say this resort is best suited for families with children, as there are many kid-friendly facilities and activities.

I bring clients here often, Great place on the east side of Shenzhen. The club building is a lot quieter, as is the club pool. The main building and pool are popular with families and can get busy especially on the weekends.
The location is definitely a highlight — the hotel has a private beach, and it’s conveniently located about 45 minutes by metro to the city centre. The hotel itself is slightly dated. While it’s still comfortable overall, it doesn’t quite meet the expectations of a 5-star property, which aligns with what many other reviews have mentioned. Service was a mixed experience. The concierge and housekeeping teams were excellent — friendly, attentive, and very helpful throughout our stay. Unfortunately, the reception staff were the complete opposite. We were travelling as a family and had requested in advance for two rooms to be either connecting or at least next to each other. Upon arrival, we were told neither option was possible, which was surprising given the size of the hotel. After 15–20 minutes of back-and-forth discussion, they suddenly managed to arrange it, which made the initial refusal even more frustrating. The reception staff were generally unhelpful and did not handle the situation well. We also have a $100 hotel voucher, but no clear explanation was provided on how or where it could be used. When we asked, we were told it could be used across the hotel’s food and beverage outlets. However, when we dined at the Cantonese restaurant, we were informed that it was not part of the hotel and the voucher was not valid there. We didn’t mind paying, but it was confusing and inconvenient — guests shouldn’t be expected to figure out these details themselves. The same with other hotel facilities such as kids club etc, no information were given. Overall, a great location but the front desk experience and lack of clear communication significantly impacted our stay.
This hotel truly exceeded all expectations and offered one of the most memorable stays I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, the exceptional hospitality was evident — every staff member went above and beyond to ensure I felt welcomed and cared for. The location is simply unbeatable, right in front of the beach, offering stunning views that make waking up each morning a joy. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and impeccably clean, with every detail carefully thought out to provide comfort and luxury. The breathtaking view from the balcony was the highlight, perfect for enjoying the calming sounds of the ocean. The hotel facilities were top-notch, catering to all my needs and more. Whether you wanted to relax by the pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or simply unwind with a good book by the beach, this place had it all. The breakfast deserves special praise — an impressive spread with fresh, high-quality options that catered to all tastes. From fresh fruits and pastries to hearty hot dishes, every bite was delicious. I can’t recommend this hotel enough for anyone looking for the perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and impeccable service. This was truly one of the best stays I’ve ever had, and I can’t wait to return.
Intercontinental Hotel, Dameisha Beach, Shenzhen I recently stayed at the Intercontinental Hotel, and my experience was outstanding. Front Desk Staff: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The front desk staff were exceptional—brilliant and incredibly kind. They fulfilled all my special requests with ease and a smile, making my check-in seamless. Restaurant Service: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Italian restaurant's male staff also impressed me with their level of service. Their attentiveness and warmth were truly remarkable. Location: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hotel's location by Dameisha Beach is perfect, offering stunning views and easy access to the beach. Price: While the hotel is on the higher end, I believe the quality of service and experience justifies it. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet was stunning; however, I hope the hotel will consider adding a halal menu in the future. Overall Recommendation: I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay.
