I’m beyond grateful for the wonderful stay I had at this hotel. The entire team, especially Cassie and Jennie from housekeeping, made my experience truly unforgettable. They did everything they could to accommodate my requests, and I felt genuinely cared for from the moment I arrived. A special thank you to Cassie, who always responded to my emails incredibly quickly and was so helpful with every request. Her kindness and attentiveness made me feel welcome even before my arrival. Jennie also deserves a heartfelt thank you for taking such wonderful care of me throughout my stay. I arrived very early, and the team kindly provided a temporary room where I could rest while waiting for my own room to be ready. I was also welcomed with a complimentary drink. When I wanted to have breakfast but had a temporary issue with Alipay and couldn’t pay straight away, the team generously offered me breakfast on the house. It was such a thoughtful and unexpected gesture. On the day of my departure, they also offered me a complimentary late checkout before my flight — something I certainly didn’t take for granted. To top it all off, I received a lovely little gift from the hotel. All these thoughtful touches made it clear that the comfort and well-being of their guests truly come first here. My room was absolutely beautiful, with a stunning view that made my stay even more special. A heartfelt thank you to Cassie, Jennie, and the entire team for their kindness, generosity, and wonderful hospitality. I’m truly grateful for everything you did to make this such a memorable experience. 🤍

We checked in on December 30, 2025. Three families. We had two rooms per family, and they ended up giving us 2230 and 2256. The next family checked in, and they were given 2257 and 2251. This shows that no one at reception cares about you. They didn't even take our suitcases; we had to drag them ourselves, along with our wives. At breakfast in the restaurant, six people were standing at the entrance, half on their phones, the other half chatting among themselves. They beeped your card, didn't swipe it, didn't ask how many people were there, and didn't seat you. My main complaint is with the senior management: why do you retain middle management if they don't manage the staff? There are a lot of staff, everyone is getting paid, and no one cares about the guests. The sea and beach are good, for China.
I booked three rooms and stayed in this hotel for a total of 5 days 4 nights. This hotel is not of a 5 stars standard so pls be mindful before booking it. I am a frequent travellers and let me explain why: 1. The main door of the hotel room does not have any sound proofing. It is worse than my own apartment back in Singapore! Anyone can hear your conversation from outside. 2. This is a really old old and very very dated hotel. It is massive but the interior and features looks at least 15-20 yrs compared to the latest 5 stars hotels. The rate I am paying is comparable so it’s time for them to do massive A&A works. 3. The entire crew seems to operate on silos and disorganise. I ordered a Buggie to take a family of 7 back to our hotel rooms. The front crew is clearly aware of it and yet they allowed another customer (two of them) to cut the queue and sit in the Buggie. This is definitely not the service level a 5 stars hotel will provide. Yet the crew did not intervene and I have to inform the customer that my family is in front of the queue. 4. I had dinner in their Mediterranean and Chinese restaurant. Please avoid having food there as they are stale! They served my kid a teddy bear bread that is as hard as a rock (seems like the bread is left outside for 2-3 days). The chicken is definitely not fresh (cooked twice at least judging from the Color of the blood). So overall very poor ratings for the in-house food. Pls think carefully before booking. I am sure there are better value hotel out there. You get more value out of it if you are to fork out 10-15% more to book a truly 5 stars hotel.
This hotel has great facilities. All areas are absolutely spotless. The breakfast area is divided into Asian and Western, very easy to find something that you like. Choice of drinks and cocktails in the bars is generous. Food and buffet areas don't disappoint.
I chose this InterContinental based on the reputation of the brand, but my actual stay was deeply disappointing. The interior facilities are extremely outdated and clearly have not been properly renovated or upgraded for a long time. The furniture in the room feels old, worn, and cheap — honestly resembling items you might find at a flea market rather than in a five-star hotel. Many pieces show visible signs of damage and heavy wear, giving the impression of poor maintenance and neglect. The overall atmosphere is far from what one would expect from a luxury or high-end hotel. It feels more like a property stuck one or two decades in the past. Given the current condition of the hardware, it is very difficult to understand why this hotel still receives five-star ratings and so many overly positive reviews. I will attach real photos here so future guests can judge for themselves. I genuinely hope the management takes the aging facilities seriously instead of relying solely on brand reputation and historical ratings to justify current pricing. If you are booking this hotel expecting the true InterContinental standard and a genuine five-star experience, I would strongly recommend reconsidering.
