We had a wonderful stay at InterContinental Haitang Bay and were very impressed with the hotel. The property is large, beautifully landscaped, and very well designed. Even when there were many guests around, it never felt crowded — there were no long lines or chaos, and everything was managed very efficiently by the staff. The rooms are spacious and very well equipped, with everything needed for a comfortable stay. We especially liked the bathtub on the balcony, which made the room feel even more special. We also really enjoyed the restaurants, especially Aqua and Tian Fu. Both offered a pleasant atmosphere and added a lot to the overall experience. A very special thank you goes to Manas, the Russian-speaking hotel guide. He truly did an outstanding job. From the moment we checked in, he was incredibly helpful — assisting us with restaurant reservations and explaining all the hotel’s facilities and opportunities in detail. His Russian is excellent, clear, and professional, which made communication especially easy and pleasant. We are very grateful for his help and support. Overall, this is a beautifully organized hotel with excellent service, spacious rooms, and a relaxing atmosphere. We would gladly stay here again.

The review is actually for the Aqua restaurant located in the B2 level of the hotel. It’s a massive underwater restaurant featuring wall high glass windows so you can watch the fish and turtles swim around while you dine. The service is very friendly in the restaurant and afternoon tea is very quiet so you can choose any table you like. They do also have a dinner buffet which is around 398 yuan per person. The restaurant is open to the public so you don’t have to be a hotel customer.
We spent four days here and had a most luxurious stay. We stayed in a room with a private outside lounge area, which was extremely relaxing and peaceful. Unfortunately interrupted by some loud, smoking neighbours, who didn't stay long. We joined Club Intercontinental which was well catered for by chef Eason with a good variation and selection over the four days. The Club was extremely well staffed with efficient and friendly staff including Dana amongst many others. The room was cleaned twice a day and they had the biggest and most plush bath towels I have ever had.I loved my time by the pool also with fabulous lifeguards and staff. Thanks for a wonderful stay, David.
Our stay at the Sanya Haitang InterContinental was overall pleasant, with several highlights, but also a few drawbacks that are worth noting for future guests. The staff were genuinely friendly, and eager to help. While English is not widely spoken, which sometimes made communication challenging, every staff member made a sincere effort to understand us and provide assistance, which we truly appreciated. One of the true highlights of the stay was the breakfast. The selection was extremely diverse, offering both local and international options, and everything was fresh and well prepared. That said, there were some areas that could be improved: Spa Pricing While the spa facilities looked appealing, the prices were extremely high and felt difficult to justify. Gym Sauna Availability The sauna in the gym was not consistently available. We had to request it to be turned on each time and then wait for it to heat up, which was inconvenient. Helicopter Noise Helicopter rides operating close to the hotel created constant noise during the day, which disrupted the peaceful resort atmosphere. Cold Swimming Pools Despite the warm climate, the pools were quite cold, especially on days when the weather was not particularly hot. Beach Disturbances The presence of quad bikes on the beach offering rides was unpleasant. The smell of gasoline, dust, and visible tire tracks on the sand significantly detracted from the calm, natural seaside ambiance. Only one playlist on repeat in the pool area. I have never listened Ed Sheeran so much in my life ! it’s time to change :)
Our three-night stay at the Intercontinental Sanya Haitang Bay was fantastic! The hotel room was spotless and equipped with everything we needed – even a Dyson hairdryer! Every morning, we woke up to breathtaking sea views, which was such a treat. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide selection of Chinese and international dishes, fresh juices, fruits, and live cooking stations – something for everyone to enjoy. The hotel grounds are lush and green, with well-maintained facilities like a gym, a beautiful pool area, and beach access. We also dined at Aqua Restaurant, their stunning seafood restaurant, surrounded by an impressive aquarium – truly a memorable experience. Although swimming in the ocean is restricted due to strong currents, the beach setup with loungers was perfect for relaxing. Plus, there’s a huge duty-free shopping center nearby with all the top brands. Overall, a wonderful stay with great amenities, fantastic food, and exceptional views. Highly recommend!
