This place was really nice, and I absolutely loved my stay here. The staff were super friendly, and the rooms were excellent for their size. While the view wasn't exactly what I expected, I am not complaining about how it turned out because it was still pretty scenic - I could see most of the city and the sea.
I have been to China many times, but this has to be my most memorable trip. The Harman Hotel in Hainan has a wonderful, romantic vibe to it. Location-wise, the Pineapple Mall is right next to the hotel, and there are FamilyMarts and many other small convenience stores nearby.Even though I am not a big fan of very hot climates,
I would definitely return to Sanya, Hainan one day and choose the Harman Hotel again for my stay.
We did not notice any renovation. Room service clean rooms bad. Poor breakfast, very good dinners. Great Chinese restaurant. Nobody speaks English, sometimes there is no person who speaks English even at the reception. The beach is awful near the hotel. There is very little place where you are allowed to swim (look at the photo). I don’t recommend Dadonghai for beach vacation at all.
Huge hotel... A bit old but still in good maintenance. Rooms with a great view and big enough. Bright and well designed.
Some parts are humid.

Poor check in service. When you call operator from the room and speak English, help desk simply hangs up on you. When checked in, the room was dirty , with water on the floor, hair found in the bathtub. Breakfast was good. Drunk Russians. Shopping mall nearby. Broken tile in the pool, rusty pool equipment.
Not really a 5 star hotel - it's in the little things. However, nice rooms and great location in Dadonghai and inside a shopping mall full of restaurants!
