Great rooms and breakfast, but disappointing service and noise I stayed one night at the Grand Hyatt Shenzhen on a business trip. The hotel is directly connected to the excellent MixC shopping mall, which is very convenient. My room was spacious, comfortable and more modern than expected, with a large bathroom. Breakfast was also excellent, with a very good selection and high-quality food. Unfortunately, several things were disappointing. The hotel's elevator system is unnecessarily complicated, with reception on the 33rd floor and different sets of elevators for the rooms, gym and breakfast restaurant. Getting around often requires changing elevators and making rather illogical detours. There were also very long queues at both check-in and check-out. More seriously, my room was extremely noisy due to major construction work nearby, with loud banging and piling continuing even at night. This seriously affected my sleep. Service was another disappointment. The concierge was unable to help us find a nearby massage place, even though we later discovered one just behind the shopping mall. We were directed to the hotel's spa instead, but when we asked about available massage treatments, we were told there weren't any. I also called room service to order food and was simply told they were busy before the call was ended. They did call back afterward, but it was still a strange experience. Overall, the hotel has some real strengths, particularly its location, rooms and breakfast. However, the noise and disappointing service made the stay much less enjoyable than it should have been. With so many good hotels to choose from in Shenzhen, I would probably stay elsewhere next time.

Stayed 25/9, 1 night in a low-floor room directly facing a long-term construction site. No disclosure on the website or at check-in. Woken at 8:30am by loud piling work. Offered a room change at 9am for a 1-night stay, not practical. I understand construction is beyond the hotel's control, but informing guests is the hotel's responsibility. I appreciate the effort from Duty Manager Vivian but nevertheless I feel it is necessary to leave this feedback. Is this Grand Hyatt standard? Very disappointing as a first-time guest.
Great stay that met expectations – Excellent service and dining Overall, our stay at Grand Hyatt Shenzhen was right in line with my expectations. The hotel is integrated into a large shopping mall complex. On the 1st floor, there is the 1881 restaurant, the Concierge desk, and various retail shops. Upon arrival, you can leave your luggage with the Concierge on the 1st floor and take the elevator straight up to the 33rd-floor lobby to check in. From there, a separate set of elevators takes you to the guest rooms. The room was very nice and completely non-smoking. For dining, the connected mall offers plenty of options, but eating at the hotel is also fantastic. I want to give a special shout-out to the staff at The Show Kitchen on the 32nd floor. They contacted us in advance and thoughtfully reserved a great window seat for us. Their dinner buffet is impressive, featuring a wide selection of seafood, Chinese dishes, and BBQ—making it a great option if you prefer to dine in. Additionally, the hotel is close to Luohu Port, making it super easy to take the train directly into Hong Kong. Highly recommended for both comfort and location!
Reliable brand, but a little dated. Nonetheless, we still had a very comfortable stay. Our room was spacious, breakfast spread was good tho lack variety (they didnt change the menu). Service was hit and miss. Only few were very hospitable and helpful throughout our stay.
My stay at the Grand Hyatt Shenzhen was unfortunately disappointing throughout. Check-in: The negative experience started upon arrival: long queues and an extremely slow check-in process. Although we only arrived around 5:30 PM, our room was still not ready, and we had to wait another 1.5 hours before we could access it. Room (706): The room was apparently a former smoking room – the smell is still clearly embedded in the walls and very unpleasant. In addition, you are woken up from 6 AM onwards by significant construction noise, even on weekends. The only positive aspect is that the room itself was clean, although the interior feels somewhat dated overall. Breakfast / Lounge: The breakfast buffet is completely overcrowded. On Saturday at 9:30 AM, the waiting time was around 45 minutes. Switching to the lounge offered little relief – it was equally crowded, and despite the staff’s great efforts, they couldn’t keep up. On Sunday, we went to breakfast early at 8:15 AM and just managed to get a table. When leaving at 9:15 AM, the queue was even longer than the day before. While the quality and selection of the food are good, the atmosphere, due to noise and the sheer number of people, feels more like a cafeteria than a hotel of this category. Location: The nearest subway station is about a 15-minute walk away, accessible through the adjacent mall – at least sheltered and air-conditioned. Conclusion: Overall, a disappointing stay with significant organizational and quality shortcomings. Absolutely unacceptable for a hotel in this price range.
