Excellent hotel that was way better than expected given it was in the middle of a commercial precinct. Vast breakfast options too and super good water pressure. Highly recommended.
A friend accidentally sent 3 of my parcels to the older Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen instead of Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen Bay, where I was actually staying. As a result, I needed help either arranging a transfer to the new hotel or returning it for a refund. Given the circumstances, a refund was the easier option. Despite the mistake and the fact that I was not a guest at the older Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen, Kin from the concierge team went above and beyond over two days to help coordinate the rider pickup and return. His patience, efficiency, and willingness to assist truly stood out. As a Bonvoy Titanium Elite member, I can confidently say this is exactly what proper concierge service should look like. This is genuine hospitality at its best. I will definitely be writing to Marriott Bonvoy customer service to commend Kin for his exceptional service!
The hotel feels a bit old, and the service was okay. I experienced more helpful staff in different brands of the group. Rooms are spacious, but looks really old unfortunately. There were small holes on the wall when I looked into details. The location of the hotel is remote from the any other places around, and closer to border with HK. But it is still a walk of 10-15 mins to get there.
This was my second stay at Four Points by Sheraton Shenzhen. I returned only because of its convenient location near highways and business areas — ideal for a tight work schedule. During my first stay, I had to change rooms twice due to strong cigarette smoke in non-smoking rooms. The room was just okay, and the breakfast was well below average for a Sheraton-branded hotel. My second stay, however, was an absolute letdown. After a long business day, I came back to find the bathroom moldy and filthy. The water hose was covered in mold. As I lay on the bed to work, I felt itchy and noticed a moldy odor. The headboard was damp and moldy. Walls, AC vents, and even wallpaper showed mold or water damage. I asked to change rooms and was shown rooms on several different floors (5, 7, 8, 10, 11), all with similar issues — mold, smoke odor, dim lighting, and in one case, a bed bug on the pillow. One room even smelled like a full-on smoking bar. Eventually, I was moved to another building, a 4-minute walk away. The room was slightly better but still problematic: no bathroom partition (which made the floor dangerously slippery), a connecting door (zero sound privacy), and a hallway that reeked of disinfectant or formalin. I had to sleep wearing a mask. There was no fridge, and the furniture had visible water damage. This entire experience was disappointing, frustrating, and borderline unsafe.
