Facade looks old but rooms were neat & clean. Huge hotel beside the mrt station, great location.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently stayed at China Hotel for 6 nights during a business trip, and the experience was outstanding from start to finish. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms are equally impressive—large, modern, and equipped with a bathtub along with all the amenities and accessories you could need while traveling. Housekeeping did an excellent job throughout my stay, ensuring that both the room and bathroom remained immaculate every day. The biggest highlight of this hotel is its location. It is incredibly central and convenient. Everything you might need is literally at your doorstep—from a 7-Eleven and food court to restaurants, bars, and pubs. There is even a 24/7 McDonald’s right next to the main entrance. Whether for business meetings, sightseeing, shopping, or dining, everywhere we wanted to go was just a few minutes away. The combination of spacious rooms, exceptional cleanliness, excellent service, and an unbeatable location makes China Hotel a fantastic choice for both business and leisure travelers. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Guangzhou.
This is an ok but very dated hotel. We stayed in the executive studio and the carpets desperately need cleaning. Although our room was non smoking the second you walk into the hallway that is all you can smell. The breakfast buffet in the executive lounge is ok better then any of the Chinese food we found. The staff were helpful and friendly. We are from North America and really had a dislike for the cultural food so we were happy they offered an international buffet. WARNING the buffet was TERRIBLE and not north American friendly at all. Very overpriced and really bad food. Mostly terrible Chinese food. Make note that western food is NOT western as in North American it is middle eastern. We ended up taking DiDi's every day to other areas to eat great food Morgans and Banditos were amazing and well worth the time and price. A warning about Didi transport: it is worth it to get comfort level. Also communicate and confirm drop off areas ahead of time. Also if you have the displeasure of being in China during a holiday be advised that DIDI TIME DOESN'T ACCOUNT FOR TRAFFIC CONGESTION. I have never ever been in such atrocious traffic in all my life. We didn't even make the park an hour and a half away before the park was going to close. 4 hours of traffic jam before we told the driver to turn around. We will not be back to this hotel.
I stayed at The China Hotel from April 24th-27th. I’ve travelled to China over 30 times. I normally stay at well known branded hotels. Not sure why the hotel claims to be a Marriott property because it’s not. Upon check in, the Lobby had a foul smell which worried me from the start. The hotel is heavily outdated, hallway carpets smell like they haven’t been cleaned in decades. The minute I got to my floor that dirty smell just followed me right to my suite room. Foul moldy smell in the room. I went to look into switching rooms and each room had that dirty smell. The rooms are outdated, toilets don’t flush properly, water doesn’t drain down the shower. I had my room Serviced. When I came back I had no towels not even a roll of toilet paper. Just my bed made. The hotel manager didn’t offer to compensate anything other than a late check out. I won’t go into further details but I would suggest to all of you reading my post to look for another property. If the hotel would offer me free stay upon my next trip to China I wouldn’t even stay here. I had no interest in taking pictures I just looked forward to checking out and going to a reputable hotel. 4.3 stars is beyond surprising. I wonder what clientele is being drawn to this hotel to actually give this hotel this rating. I would have loved to leave the hotel on the first night but I booked a non refundable rate which screwed me. Overall, the most exciting part of my stay was checking out.
1st 5 star CCP endorsed hotel in china. A bit dated in 2026 but still a solid 4 star intl standard. Breakfast buffet well exceed any intl chain. Location wise it's hard to beat for convenience n transport & "western" food choices. It's no Marriott for sure but if U can look pass the dated interior 80s/90s style chinese decor then U won't be disappointed. Perfect for business trip. Ok for intl visitors holidaying for a few days. Right next to giant park. 800 room in total designed for Canton Fair & coach. Rooms very quiet despite the older central non-financial centre location.
