Atlantis Sanya

Stayed here for 3 nights in April 2026 and loved it!! Booked via booking.com and we were assigned a butler to assist us with anything we needed during our stay (I assume as we were English and the resort staff only speak Chinese - that being said each staff has translator apps). Loved the spacious room. We ended up staying in the resort for our 3 nights as it’s so big & a bit far out of town. There was lots to do including the waterpark, a theatre show, dolphin show, the pool, aquarium. So many restaurants and snack bars, the tiki bar at night & seafood buffet were my favourites and a super market, I did not feel bored at all. I’d recommend this place if you have children but it’s also suitable for people of any ages. The staff were so friendly to us especially as we didn’t speak the language & elena the butler was always to hand.

I visited Atlantis Water World in Sanya on August 10, 2026. Overall, the experience did not meet my expectations, and honestly, I left feeling disappointed. The biggest issue was the weight restrictions on many of the attractions. A large number of the double-rider slides require each individual rider to weigh no more than 90 kg. For an adult man, this limit seems unnecessarily restrictive. My partner and I were well within the park’s stated combined weight limit of 180 kg, meaning we fully complied with the official requirements, yet we were still denied access to some attractions. We have visited many water parks in different countries and regions, and we have almost never encountered a situation where we were unable to ride together because of weight restrictions. As a result, this policy felt unreasonable and negatively affected our overall experience. Another major issue was the extremely long wait times to obtain inflatable tubes. For some attractions, visitors first had to stand in a long line just to get a tube and then join another queue for the ride itself. The total waiting time ended up being far longer than we expected. I understand that August is peak travel season and that the park receives a large number of visitors during this period. However, even at other popular water parks during their busiest times—such as Land of Legends in Turkey—we have never experienced queues to this extent. The park’s theming and visual design are impressive, and the facilities themselves look great. However, the actual visitor experience does not fully match the expectations created by the park’s reputation and marketing. In my opinion, Atlantis Water World is somewhat overrated. If the management improved crowd flow, increased the availability of tubes, and reconsidered the weight restrictions on certain attractions, the overall experience would be significantly better and more enjoyable for a wider range of visitors.

Had a wonderful stay at Atlantis Sanya! The hotel was beautiful and the service was great. Special thanks to our butler, Xiaolong, who was always friendly, helpful, and quick to respond. He made our stay much more comfortable and enjoyable. Really appreciate his excellent service. Would definitely come back again!

Our family stayed at Atlantis Sanya for five days in July, and overall we had a wonderful experience. The first part of our stay came with a few communication challenges, which can happen when visiting a country where we don’t speak the language. We really appreciated how quickly Atlantis responded by assigning Alina as our butler to help us throughout our stay. From that moment on, everything became effortless. Alina was always available, incredibly responsive, and proactive. She didn’t just help us communicate with different teams—she regularly checked back to make sure every request had been fully resolved, often reaching out before we even had to ask. Her professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made us feel genuinely cared for. She completely changed our experience. What could have remained a source of frustration became a smooth and relaxing holiday, allowing us to fully enjoy everything Atlantis has to offer. Her thoughtful farewell gifts were a lovely final touch and reflected the care she showed us from beginning to end. Thank you, Alina, for everything you did for our family. You made a real difference to our stay, and we hope this review gives you the recognition you truly deserve.
