Booked with Travel China Guide. Our guide Celine was amazing. Her communication was great, contacting me before the tour to let me know she would be waiting for us on the platform with a porter for our bags. Celine was very knowledgeable and well spoken. We had a great time. Thank you Celine

Itinerary
Your tour guide and driver will greet you in your hotel lobby and then escort you directly to the Terracotta Army Museum in a premium vehicle. The drive takes approximately one hour, during which your guide will share some brief historical background on the remarkable wonder you're about to explore.
Upon arrival, your guide will walk you through the three main pits to see the terracotta warriors and horses up close. You'll also visit the exhibition hall to view selected artifacts, including bronze items and weapons. The visit takes about 2.5 to 3 hours, giving you plenty of time to admire at a relaxed pace.
Drive back to downtown to visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, a Tang Dynasty landmark built in 652 AD to house Buddhist scriptures brought from India by the monk Xuanzang. As a key site along the ancient Silk Road, it served as an important center for translating and introducing Indian Buddhism to China.
Next, you'll visit the ancient City Wall—the largest and best-preserved city wall in China. Your guide will share fascinating stories and historical insights about this encircled structure. For a more active experience, you may rent a bicycle to ride along the top of the wall at your own expense.
After that, you'll explore the Muslim Quarter, famous for its diverse halal snacks and street food. From sizzling lamb skewers and savory pastries to sweet desserts and fresh fruit drinks, the vibrant stalls offer a feast for both the eyes and the palate. It's a great place to experience the local food culture.
At the end of the tour, your guide and driver will escort you back to your hotel. Thank you for choosing to travel with us! Please note that we offer both private and mini-group tour options. Check availability to select the one that best suits your needs.

The service provided from our guide was great, Anna was amazing! There was a bit of a disconnect between Vitaor and the local company, but we worked it out. On a private tour, our entrance fees were not included.
We had a wonderful tour of Xi'an with our tour guide Richard. He patiently explained everything to us . We thoroughly recommend this tour. Natalie and Rob from England
What a day, what a tour, what a guide. THE only guide to see Xi'an with is Jessica. I read the Terracotta Army can be crowded, what an understatement! However with Jessica, along with her amazing knowledge of this amazing site but the best, how she side steps and navigates the crowd, just brilliant. You see everything as Jessica gives a great overview and detail when and where its needed. We went to both pagodas, quick look about the Shaaxia museum to see the real Tang horses, camels and figurines, amazing. However the best til last going to Muslim Street with a real local, what to try and where and now I understand about her 'soft' sell on Chili ice cream, I tried it today, delicious! There is absolutely nothing this lady doesn't know and is not wanting to share about her home town Xi'an. One word for Jessica, as you get guides and you get guides but Jessica is excellent ....
I would recommend the activity as the price is quite reasonable and a lot of places are included , The guide did a good job about the history of Terracota and what needs to be seen.
A fantastic day out with our guide, Roger. He met us at our hotel and we drove to the Terracotta Wariors site where we were taken round. Roger was super knowledgeable and very personable. Then onto lunch and afterwards to the Big Goose Pagoda and the city wall. Everything was explained so well we really did enjoy the day. Would definitely recommend (and have Roger as your guide!)
It was a really great tour led by Celine. The weather wasn't good as it rained the whole day, but Celine was the sunshine that made the tour so smooth that surprisingly it wasn't stressful at all. She bought umbrellas and ponchos for everyone who needed them, so sweet of her. She's also super knowledgeable of the local history of Xi'An, I was enlightened by the connection of Journey to the West and the Pagoda.
This was overall a seamless experience. I received a message over email, WeChat and WhatsApp before the tour with information. They quickly answered all my questions. The driver and guide were waiting in the lobby right on time. Tina, the guide, provided a lot of interesting history during our drive and at the sites. She was also great at small details, such as knowing where all the bathrooms are, and which bathrooms are least crowded. She also took care of all the admission tickets. The luxury vehicle was also very nice.
The full day tour program was very well organized and TC was very professional and experienced. Overall, our family enjoyed very much. I highly recommend prevate tour program to family group who has growen ups.
Jacky was our guide and he was very informative, good English, and knew how to maneuver us through crowded conditions. The terracotta soldiers was superb. The city wall, lunch, and the Muslin Quarter portions of the tour, despite the heat, were also quite interesting.
Terra Cotta Warriors Incredible to see, do not miss! Having a guide to help navigate was extremely helpful. Roger provided interesting context and history throughout, plus helped navigate the crowds. Be sure to bring your patience and reduce expectations of personal space. The warriors are so incredible that everyone comes to see them! Great Goose Pagoda Super interesting, we’re so glad to have seen it. We enjoyed the climb to the top and witnessing an active place of worship. Also don’t miss! We could have used additional time here. Xi’an City Walls You can’t go to Xi’an without this experience. We went on our own the day prior to our tour with Roger and felt fortunate to have had extra time to rent bikes and ride around. Roger’s tour allowed us to go into the museum and see parts we’d missed on our own. I recommend seeing it twice like we did- with the tour and separately if you enjoy a long stroll or bike ride. Muslim District Also very interesting. This was an optional stop on our tour so we ended here vs electing to be returned to our hotel by van. We enjoyed the area and are glad we chose to stay. Communication, Logistics, Guide Communication from the tour company was helpful- they reached out well in advance and continued to stay in communication leading up to our tour date. This is a mini group- which looked to max out at around 15 people. The van was air conditioned and comfortable. Our guide, Roger was very well educated on the area and the sites we visited. We liked that he was passionate & eager to share his knowledge. You could tell he was disappointed when folks on the tour snoozed or looked at their phones during the bus ride instead of listening to him as he called out a couple of people who weren’t paying attention. He passed out feedback forms before we left the city wall for our final stop and was insistent that we submit 5-star reviews before leaving for our last stop. If it weren’t for this, I would have rated the tour 5-stars.
Excellent tour and our guide, Lola, was super. She was clear up front about how the day would go, provided great information and descriptions of the sites, and gave us the time we wanted to linger and enjoy the day. She was helpful in identifying a good lunch spot and timed to so we beat the crowds. We appreciated all she and the driver, Mr Zhang, did to make it an informative and interesting experience. Thank you!!
Carole Chen was our guide, great job. Knowledgeable professional positive attitude. We love her.
Maggie the guide did an excellent job. Very communicative prior to tour. Everything went exactly on time and as she stated. Driver was good as well car was clean and modern
Roger was our tour guide in the mini group tour to Xian highlights. He is very knowledgeable and fluent in English. The tour was very informative and not too rushed with kids. Highly recommend if you have only a day in Xi’an.
We had an excellent experience on the Xi’an Private Full-Day Tour. Our guide, Irene, was absolutely fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the history, culture, and sights we visited, and she shared fascinating facts and stories throughout the day that made everything much more meaningful and interesting, without ever feeling overwhelming. Although it was a full-day tour, the time flew by. Irene was warm, friendly, and very attentive, adapting the itinerary and pace to our preferences and helping us navigate each site with ease. Her English is perfect, which made communication effortless and allowed us to get much more out of the experience. What impressed us most was how helpful she was beyond the tour itself. She even took the time to review with us the information about our train journey the following day, which had nothing to do with the tour. That level of care and professionalism is rare and very much appreciated. We would highly recommend this tour, and especially Irene, to anyone visiting Xi’an.
Lily is a knowledgeable guide that speaks English fluently. She gave us as much time as we wanted at each attraction. I highly recommend her.
I cannot rave enough about our friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful guide Tracy. I especially loved the fact she had ear pieces ready for everyone in our group so that we can hear her explain everything clearly despite being farther from her and in a big crowd. Xi’an was beautiful, and she gave us tips on where to find good biang biang noodles and what areas to explore after our terracota tour ended. Not only was she a great guide, but she went above and beyond after our tour was already done and I was back home. Her job with us was done. But I still had her on my WeChat so I asked her where she bought the pair of jeans she was wearing during our tour. Not only did she tell me, but she even helped me inquire about shipping and ordering to send to my friend’s hotel who was still in China. She called their tour guide to inquire about the last hotel they would be staying at, so the package would arrive in time before they left. Super helpful since none of us can speak or read mandarin. Thank you so much Tracy, for making our Xi’an tour unforgettable and for being the best guide we’ve ever had!
We had a wonderful trip through Xian guided by Lola, who was knowledgeable, friendly and pleasant. Highly Recommended.
I had an amazing time exploring the highlights of Xi’an. Our tour guide, Lily, was exceptional. She was kind, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Her excellent English and deep understanding of Xi’an, as well as the other sites we visited, made the entire experience even more enjoyable and enriching.
This was our second time going with TravelChinaGuide and we had the pleasure to work with Wendy again as our travel consultant. Wendy is very timely with her response, professional, and detail oriented. She was able to create an itinerary that worked well for my sister and me. We went to Shanghai this time with the transit free China visa and had no issue coming in and out of China. The hotel booked (Sunrise on the Bund) was one of the best hotels we've stayed at. Thank you Wendy and TravelChinaGuide team for all your assistance making this trip memorable for us!
Had a great trip, Roger was my guide. He provided a lot of historical information, that helped me enjoy the tour even more. This was a full day, and a lot of information is covered, and I would do it again, it was that great of a tour.
Great day! We saw everything we wanted to see in the day. Susan was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and friendly!
Very good tour, well organised with private driver. My guide Laura was great…just the right amount of historical knowledge without getting too much! She was very good at reading the pace at which I wanted to do everything.
We had a great time. The Terracotta warriors were very crowded by the tour guide helped to make sure we saw what was important and she also made sure we understood the background for everything. The tour was much more relaxed than I thought it would be, and we had plenty of time to see everything we wanted. Our guide, Rita, was great - she made use the shoppers in the group got to shop, and the sightseers in the group got to sightsee.
Our trip will be in Oct 2025, Great help from Emily Xin in preparation of our private tour. Excellent services from her and she really doing a great job with prompt responses and very helpful. Thanks for her excellent srevices
This was an amazing tour! I had a wonderful experience and greatly enjoyed exploring the Terracotta Army and horses. The museums, tower, wall, and pagoda were magnificent and our tour guide Jacky provided tremendous insight into the history of these uniquely historic sites. Thank you Jacky!
Our tour guide, Wendy, was excellent. Very good English and provided a great deal of insight on the wide range of topics. We were able to customize our tour based on our own personal preferences. The car and driver was very good and comfortable for the full day tour.
Fantastic tour organised by Kina at Travel China Guide. Our guide Lola was informative, knowledgeable & very helpful. A once in a lifetime trip the Terracotta Warriors were on our bucket list & they didn’t disappoint. Lola also helped us negotiate when we wanted to get Replica warriors to take home. Another highlight was making our own mini warriors to take home. A really fun activity. We also visited Xi’an city wall & the Muslim bazaar. Driver collection from train station to hotel & the same driver through our whole time in Xi’an. Lola stayed in touch until we left & even made sure we knew how to get on the right train.
We enjoyed our day trip at the beautiful Mt Huashan. Roger, our guide, communicated well in English and took good care of us navigating us to the various peaks. Highly recommended tour!
Our family had an incredible time at Mount Huashan, the hike is challenging at times but totally worth it. Our tour guide RoGER was great, he made the experience very easy, told us lots of stories and took lots of pictures for us.
Rita was a terrific guide--knowledgeable and fun. Her English is excellent. While high winds closed the cable car to the west peak, she got us up to the north peak. There were tons of people, but she expertly navigated us through the crowds for optimal viewing. Highly recommended!
I had a great pleasure both from the tour and from the guide. We managed to bypass all the peaks and enjoy wonderful views and even delicious lunch under the sky, despite the day off. Without a guide this would be unlikely.. thank you for a great day!
Perfect and very reliable communication and tour operation by tour operator Moon. Everything on time and super reliable. We did the Mount Hua Shan with our guide Roger. He is very knowledgeable and tells you a lot of additional information. Besides that treasure chest of knowledge he is very nice and takes care of you very well. I was the slowest in the group and he made sure that I was not left behind. The tour is wonderful, great nature, simply wonderful. I`d recommend that you ask for Roger as tour guide.
Roger is a fantastic guide! He's knowledgeable, detailed and helpful. Learnt a lot from him about the history. I recommend him!
Lily was our tour guide, very knowledgeable and experienced, friendly, and very helpful to do the extra help for individual needs. Highly recommended Travel China Guide Tour.
Roger was my guide for the day in Xian. Thoroughly enjoyed his company. He is impressively well versed in the history of the warriors and the period of their making. Got to meet the farmer who discovered the archeological site. Highly recommend Roger. Thank you so much for the excellent day trip.
I ended up with a private tour with Roger, who was great. So happy I did not try this on my own. The soldiers are the 8th wonder of the world, amazing. Very crowded with people everywhere and my guide knew all the best spots for photos. Roger spoke English very well and had lots of history and interesting information. He had a excellent suggestion for lunch and the flow was smooth. The driver was also excellent and did a great job avoiding an accident when a bicycle flew into our path.
Well organised tour showing the essential highlights of the city. Tracey was informative about all the sites and gave us plenty of time to explore it at our own pace.
One of the main reasons for visitng China was to see the Terracotta Warriors. We were only due to be in Xi`an for one whole day. Unfortunately the night before our visit, my husband became really unwell with such a bad stomach upset that he was too weak to walk. Our guide was wonderful. She initially took us to a pharmacy where we purchased medication. She then arranged a salted drink when we arrived at the site of the Terracotta Warriors and a guy with a wheelchair so that my husband wouldnt miss the tour. The tour was wonderful. Carol is both caring and so knowledgable. She also made it really interesting without being overloaded with information. It was a great trip and one that we will remember for a long time. If we had been booked on a large group tour I suspect we would have had to miss the tour altogether. Thanks so much Carol!
Tour was perfectly organised. Tracy's English is very good and she knows a lot about Chinese history and the places we visited and she was very friendly and flexible. We highly recommend to ride a bike on the city wall of Xi'an and to walk through the muslim quarter.
What an amazing day! Full of culture and allot of history! Tracey, our guide took us to see the Terracotta Warriors. She is very knowledgeable and very passionate. We then explored the City Wall. I loved everything about this tour! The Small Pagoda was also special! Thanks Tracey! I will see you in the future again!
Did a full day tour with Judy. She was very knowledgeable and spoke English very well. We toured the terrace cotta warriors, had lunch, toured the wall and a museum. We had a wonderful day.
We had a fun day in Xi'an on June 6 with Lily, our tour guide. On our way to Terracotta Warriors display, Lily enthusiastically shared Xi'an's rich history with us "Xi'an city is a Living Museum" - wherever you dig in Xi'an, there is history to be found. Lily's knowledge about Xi'an's place in China history is vast and made us very familiar with the city. IAs we entered Terracotta Warriors display - it is very easy to get distracted by the crowds and the seemingly sameness of the warriors. But, she knew exactly where to stop - telling us what to look for in each pit (we visited all 3 pits). With Lily as our guide, we came back from our Terracotta Warrior visit with a much greater appreciation (hey, I almost qualified to be a guide myself). My wife, and our daughter also appreciated Lily's easy-going style, her English-speaking and communicative skills. We also did the tea sampling at the food court - located near Pit # 3. We also visited Big Wild Goose Pagoda - what a peaceful place and again, Lily told us the history where to take a perfect picture with the Pagoda in the background, the difference between the bell tower and drum tower - making our visit so much more meaningful. Lily went an extra mile to take us to a quick City wall visit as there was a short time left before our overnight train journey to Beijing, making sure we were seated in the right compartment (again, getting tickets from the right counter, waiting in the right platform - all would have been daunting with our lack of Mandarin speaking skills). Thank You Travel China Guide Tours and Lily and the driver (sorry to forget his name) for making our day in Xi'an so so Perfect.
Our tour was effort less, easy to navigate, and Susan our tour guide was incredible! This company takes care of it all! They delivered our train tickets to our hotel in Beijing, then picked us up at our hotel in Xa'in, and proceeded to drop us back off at the end of the day to head back to Beijing. They were kind, easy to work with, and priced very fairly. Susan was just the best, we all fell in love with her and wished we could have taken here throughout China with us!
We packed what seemed like a couple days of activities into one day with Roger, which worked nicely for our group of two. We got to see the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and surrounding structures, biked the City Wall (huge highlight and only 45 yuan each bike), and explored the Terracotta Army. Roger is EXTREMELY knowledgeable and this came in SUPER handy at the Terracotta Warriors. I learned so much more than I did visiting the exhibition on tour! I'm not sure how Roger can so easily sum up all the history, the numerous Dynasties, and Xi'an's emporers, but he did, and I leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Xi'an than I came with. This was an amazing day and Roger is a walking encyclopedia.
We had a great time with our guide Roger! We were able to visit the Pagoda, city wall, and Terra-Cotta museum. Roger was so knowledgeable on the history and culture of these sights. We especially loved the Terra-Cotta museum! It was an incredible visit
We had very nice and interesting private visit in Terracota Warriors Museum. Our guide - Tracy is lovely, professional and really nice young person ! Thanks to her we spent memorable day and we received a lot of interesting facts about the museum and fascinating chinese culture.
When Roger picked us up at the airport, he started telling us the history of Xi’an and the warriors. He was polite, extremely funny and spoke almost perfect English. When I return, I will hopefully be able to call on him again.
The tour exceeded my expectations. Not only did I see the amazing Terracotta Warriors and the City Wall, I learned so much. Cecile's knowledge was very advanced. She made the trip feel personal and her advice on the rest of my stay in China was above and beyond. A real pleasure to have booked through China Travel. Thank you
