Skip-the-crowd Private Terracotta Army Tour (No Shopping Detour)

Great experience with this private tour. They tailored the pickup time to what I wanted and arrived right on time. The car was super clean and nice. My guide explained the history of the region to me on the way out in the car and once we got there everything was super smooth getting through the ticket and security area with the guide to show you every step of the way. Once inside, everything was explained every step of the way around the different viewing pits and you never felt rushed. All in all a great way to see the Terracotta Warriors if want to spend a bit more money and have someone lead the way and not having to worry about where to go next.

Tina was amazing. Her knowledge about history was excellent. She was informative and very interesting. She took us to brilliant locations. We would absolutely recommend Tina 100%. Her English was fabulous.

We just finished our tour with Linda. She was an incredible tour guide. Knowledgeable, kind and very good with our children. She helped us to understand the incredible history of the Terracotta Warriors and she shared her knowledge of the local Xi’an area. She also recommended a place for a delicious lunch. We would recommend her to anyone travelling.

Three of us booked a car with Help of the tour operator in our hotel in the city. We also purchased three adult tickets for 120 cny each. The up and down travel cost was 400 cny. On reaching the site we hired an English speaking guide who took us around the main pit no 1 and pit no 2 and explained everything in good detail. He also said that there are jade mines around that area. On our way back he took us to a jade jewellery shop where we purchased a few jade jewellery , the price of which was much less than in our hotel shop.

Our tour guide was TINA and she was the best. They came to pick us up at 8 am in the morning at our hotel with a black car. We drove directly to the terracotta warriors and skipped all lines. Lina explained all the history and once inside she helped us navigating the crowds, pick the best picture spot and took our pictures too. Once the tour was over she took to a local spot for the best Biang biang noodles. We had the best time, cannot recommend this tour and Tina enough!!!

Had an amazing time with Tina. Took us early to avoid the queues. Very educational, Tina had great knowledge about the terracotta warriors. Her English was also very good which made things easy. Would definitely recommend.

We had a tour with Tina to see the terra-cotta warriors. She was nice and outgoing. Arrived on time to pick us up in a nice car and provided us with a lot of fascinating facts & history. She’s extremely knowledgeable and her English was very easy to understand.

Linda was amazing, she was very patient and informative and took her time explaining everything in detail and answering by, many questions. Her English is very good and she made the whole experience more enjoyable.

Linda was our tour guide for the Terracotta Warriors tour and she was the best!! She was very knowledgeable, friendly/personable, and speaks English well. It was easy to understand her and it was nice to converse with her throughout the tour. She also took us to a nice place for lunch and later even helped us with exchanging currency, which we greatly appreciated. We would love to have her as our tour guide again and we would highly recommend her to anyone else.

The tour was great: driver took us at time, we got to the place in comfort and fast, the tour contained a lot of interesting historical details, everything was explained clearly!

Nothing was too much trouble for her She arranged a wheel chairr for my husband too which proved a brilluant idea for him as he just turned 80 here in China . Our family had a wonderful experience on this tour! Everything was well-organized from start to finish, and the guide Tina was friendly, knowledgeable, and great. We got to see so many amazing sights without feeling rushed, and there was something for everyone to enjoy — from fun activities for the little ones to interesting facts for the adults.

Our tour started with Linda picking us up from our hotel and directing us to the private vehicle for our tour. Linda was very knowledgeable in describing what we were going to see once we arrived at the Terracotta warriors. Linda spoke great English and tried teaching us some basic Chinese for our trip. Linda showed us some better vantage spots once inside the chambers for taking photos and made sure she explained all the differences between each warriors and the way they were facing meant different things. I would highly recommend Linda as a tour guide to anyone wanting a very informative tour. The driver that I didn't find out his name. Was very professional and had great experience navigating the busy roads to and from our hotel.

The Terracotta Warriors are well worth seeing and Cindy, our guide was great! We were picked up on time at our hotel and made the hour or so drive in a comfortable van to the busy site. And it is busy, which is why Cindy made it easier to navigate. My Chinese is limited, her English was very good, and she gave a great historical look at the many pits and displays. 5 stars easily for Cindy and the private half day tour!

We are truly impressed by the professionalism, the knowledge, the organization skills by our tour guide Carol Chen! She was so kind, so helpful and genuine in her attitude towards everyone! Another way she impressed me was that she went out of her ways to help us! We asked her to recommend a tour for us to go to Hukou around 10 pm, she immediately connected us to a tour and helped us to book one for next day! So efficient, so kind, empathetic! I would highly recommend her to all my friends who plan to come visit Terracotta! I meant to rate her 5 out of 5! She deserves all the praises!

Went to terracotta warriors with Tina, fantastic guide showing us the quick paths through and best sights for the warriors. Fantastic knowledge and history throughout the entire tour and even took us to lunch after for some lovely noodles

Tina is an excellent guide. The site is incredibly impressive, and it helps to have somebody knowledgeable to help you navigate everything. We went early in the morning when it was not yet so hot and also not yet very crowded. Expect about a 1hr drive from downtown Xi'an.

If you want the best local all inclusive English speaking tour guide then you should not go past Linda her experience and depth of Historical knowledge is second to none. Everything from start to finish was perfect. Linda's Experience,Expertise and friendly nature was awesome.......

Agnes was an exceptional guide. The entire booking went smoothly with good communications also from Catherine Lu (travel agency owner) in the days prior to the tour. Agnes' historical knowledge was extensive which made our visit to the Terracotta Warriors come alive. For years, this trip has been a priority on my bucket list. Tina's expertise as a guide was impressive, demonstrating a deep understanding of the subject matter and going above and beyond to ensure our experience was outstanding. She arranged for our pickup and drop-off at the hotel, delivering an informative introduction to the Qin empire before our arrival. The tour commenced with a visit to the three pits featuring the excavated Terra-cotta warriors, proceeding to the Emperor's Tomb mound, bronze carriages, and a plethora of other fascinating relics from the Qin Empire.

Rosa was amazing, very experienced guide with extensive historical knowledge. This was the second time I have done this trip with Rosa, first by myself in 2020 and again with my wife and parents in 2024. I recommend experiencing the terracotta warriors and Xian with Rosa.

I had a great tour with Rosa. She was ready and waiting at my hotel at least five minutes ahead of time. When booking the trip, I got confused with the options and by mistake did not book a pickup from the hotel. It was easy, though, to book a DiDi from my Alipay account. Rosa gave lots of information during the ride and was a fount of knowledge in general. The scale of the terracotta warrior army is amazing to behold and I was very glad to be there with an expert and such a friendly one at that!

The Terracotta Warriors are one of the most stunning sites with such a profound history. Our tour guide Tina gave us a great tour and helped us understand such an incredible place with so much history. She was helpful in answering all our questions and was great to be around. I recommend to go to Xi'An and visit the site, it helps you understand the rich history of China.

Yesterday we visited the Terracotta Army with Mary, a great guide & driver. The tour was perfectly organised. She picked us up from hotel... was both our driver and guide for the tour. You can tell she is proud of her heritage and proud of her city (Xi'an). Good guide/drivers that speak very good English are hard to find in Xi'an. She is very pleasant to spend the tour with and very knowledgeable.

Amazing experience. Our guide Tina was fantastic. She picked us up at the hotel and told us the history on the way to the Museum. We decided to go early to avoid the crowds - something I highly recommend. It gets very crowded even by 9am. We loved hearing about the Terracotta Warriors and then as you walk in the first hall, you are wowed by the sight of so many at once. It is obviously a very "touristy" experience, but it was a must see with my mum and my aunt and our guide Tina made it even more memorable.

Highly recommend this tour, and can’t say enough great things about Rosa, our tour guide! We landed in Xi’an in the morning, and were able to customize our pick-up time at our hotel to fit the only afternoon we had open on our tight schedule. Rosa’s English was perfect and she did a wonderful job explaining the rich history of the city, the dynasties of the past, and the Terra Cotta warriors. Rosa’s storytelling really helped us to appreciate everything that we saw, and we were able to capture some incredible photos to keep the great memories for a lifetime.

The guide gives a good update of the history of China. She was very intuïtive. And we laughed a lot with her. Tina you are the best. Zhouhan the driver was very good aswell. The car was very luxuruous. What we loved as well was that Tina gives us exact the right amount of information. And she asked also a lot. We loved it very much.

Our tour guide Kai was fantastic and had great knowledge on the warriors and every question we had regarding China and other facts. The driver was efficient and on time and even stopped at a supermarket for us on route back to the hotel. I really recommend this trip for anyone visiting, it’s definitely worth the money and experience.

This was a great experience. Our guide Cindy and the car driver picked us up at our hotel and we drove to the Terracota warriors location. She explained to us, in perfect English, about the first Emperor and his mausoleum as well as the army itself. She gave us all the info we needed about Xi'an and the geography around it. At the army site she showed us all the point of interest, told us the stories behind each figure and how they were found. Additionally she walked us through the background of their restoration and helped us take great photos to commemorate the event. Afterwards she arranged for us to create our own mini Terracota warriors which was so fun! Finally we drove back to our hotel in Xi'an where we concluded our day.

Tina did a great job explaining the terra cotta warriors and the different dynasties. Also got the hotel pickup, the driver was prompt and professional!
