Roger was an excellent guide. He was easy to understand and full of interesting information. He lead us up the mountain well, choosing the paths that best matched our abilities. I especially appreciated that Roger assisted me over some of the more difficult areas. He also was very willing to take photos of us. We would highly recommend Roger as your guide!

Itinerary
In the morning, your private guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel at the appointed time, which will be confirmed with you the day before departure. Drive for about 1.5 hours by our private vehicle to Mt. Huashan, the most dangerous mountain in the world. On the way, get acquainted with what the Mountain is like and how we will tour around it with the guide’s explanation. You will enjoy a pure sightseeing tour without any tourist shopping stops.
Upon arrival at Mt. Huashan, your tour guide will help you go through the entrance. Mount Huashan offers two cableway options: the West Peak and the North Peak. You can discuss your itinerary with your guide to choose the route that suits you. Your guide will then help you purchase the cable car tickets on-site based on your preference. Get an eco-bus to the lower station of the cable car and then take the cable car up the mountain. During the cable ride, experience the thrill of speeding over the steep cliffs. Fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery on the mountain. Mount Huashan features five distinct peaks, each offering amazing scenery. Depending on your chosen cable car route, you will experience different landscapes. After a full day tour, let’s descend the mountain by cable car and take the eco-bus to the exit. Your guide and driver will take you back to downtown Xi’an and drop you off at your hotel.

I really loved Mount Houshan! I had an awesome guide with Celine and a really good experience on the mountain! If you are thinking about the mountain, I would really consider the weather and your itinerary because it is definitely a day commitment. I also think, when I went, the weather was just perfect--cloudy and about 16-20 Celsius. I would reconsider if it is pouring rain or very hot. If you are afraid of heights, I would also consider that you will be high up almost the entire time, including suspended in the rail cable car. That being said, this tour group is the best if the weather is good! I loved it. I thought the views were absolutely breathtaking. I love mountains and it was a major reason I came to China, so this tour was perfect. My guide Celine helped me with anything I ever asked and helped explain the history of the mountain and the various routes. She was very organized and experienced and had a very good plan of where to go first. I was a bit apprehensive about being physically able to climb, but there are both children and elders that climb the mountain and a cable car past the main route. She was so encouraging and kind to me. She helped get through every security check and get my cable car tickets with ease. She also helped me as a solo traveler take really good pictures, which was great so it wasn't always selfie mode the whole time! I also wanted to do the famous plank walk/cliff climb, and she helped me to do that. I really enjoyed that part too and the pictures I got were stunning. If you want to do that, I would make sure they know beforehand because it does sell out. It is best to go as early as possible for the tour if you want to do that. I did the one on the east end, which was a cliff climb with a harness and two carrybeaner clip-ins. You are definitely on the side of Mount Houshan, and it is for adventure-makers! It's only 30 yuan too, so it's really cheap and the cable ride up there is the main expense. There are also snack stands and plenty of gift shops. I would bring several of your own snacks to maintain energy, like granola bars, fresh fruit, or peanut butter crackers, (electrolyte packet drink mixes are also a good idea) for the journey, and get a larger "victory snack" at the end. I got a Chinese hamburger which was super good. The beef recharged me so well! I personally haven't seen too many magnets or postcards of the mountain in Xi'an, so if you want to get something to commemorate your climb, I would get it there. It was all very reasonable, and Celine helped make sure I got anything I wanted. I really liked seeing the Terracotta Warriors, but I am also very glad I went to the mountain. It was breathtaking, peaceful, exciting, and a great way to see beautiful Chinese landscape. Xi'an (and it's neighboring areas) have been such a blessing and pleasant surprise for me because I have heard of the army, but not the mountain, the Tang Dynasty show, or the Big Goose Pagoda in the USA. I loved the tour and I am really glad I didn't just do the army and call it a day. I would have missed so much. I am very grateful to Celine for making my journey so excellent. She is amazing and made the journey such a blessing to me. Most of these pictures Celine took, so feel free to enjoy them! She is great!
Had a great tour with Roger on the Huashan mountain. Moved at our own pace and Roger was pleasant and knowledgeable throughout. Got lucky with the weather and had a great day
Perfect time of the year to venture to the Mt Hua. Roger is a great story teller and saw ulały good listener and accommodated all our requests and needs. Highly recommended tour :)
Mt Huashan could easily be a logistical nightmare — the ticketing, the cable car, the crowds — but with Roger organising everything in advance, it was completely effortless. He took all the complexity out of what can be a complicated day and let us just focus on enjoying one of the most spectacular landscapes I've ever seen. The views from the top are simply breathtaking. Taking the cable car up, you're immediately rewarded with dramatic mountain scenery that genuinely takes your breath away, and Roger knew exactly where to go to make the most of it. His calm, organised approach made the whole day feel relaxed and unhurried — a real achievement at a site this popular. If you're planning a trip to Mt Hua, book Roger. You'll be in the best possible hands.
There’s a lot of walking up and down stairs if you go to each peak. No lunch provided, but there are lots of food stands all over. William walked with me to each peak and provided historic context. I recommend it only to people with no mobility issues
What a fabulous trip to Huashan ! We went through the west gate and it was spectacular - truly a feat of engineering and a gorgeous natural setting both. Celine - our tour guide was patient and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
Roger was truly one of the best tour guides I’ve ever had. He was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of my questions, not only about Mount Huashan, but also about Chinese culture more broadly. His English was excellent, and his warm, friendly personality made the entire experience even more enjoyable. I look forward to booking another trip with the same tour company the next time I find my way back to China.
Our guide, Roger ensured that our day on Mt Huashan ran very smoothly. It was a long day travelling from Xi-an but well worth it after experiencing the amazing view from the peaks. The highlight was the Plank Walk - via Ferrata China style! A long line up time for tickets, but Roger made sure that we made it into the first group which saved us a lot of time. We highly recommend Roger as a guide. He shared so much knowledge about Chinese history, culture and general life in China. Thanks for a great, day, Roger 🙌❤️
Very scenic area and our guide Roger, is very knowledgeable and informative. Roger is also very accommodating and flexible since he only had to manage one small group of us. It was not very crowded and the weather was nice when we visited. The driver picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel so we didn't have to worry about transportation or go to a meeting point, which was convenient.
Thanks to Rita it's been a wonderful day in the nature. Even if I went there solo I got the chance to pay a littke bit more for a private tour. It was absolutely worth to do it. We did lots of hiking even more simce one of the cable cars were closed surprisingly. She knew exactly all directions and we came back on time. She managed everything perfectly. Would always fo it again.
A great wander round Huashan with Lily who provided friendly and knowledgeable guiding throughout in excellent English and was great company. I highly recommend her services.
Well worth travelling out of Xian to this stunning mountain. There were 5 peaks you can walk to from the top of the cable car - we did the West and East peaks. It is steps and boardwalk most of the way, but quite steep, but safe. Lily made it so easy organising all the tickets and walking the peaks with us to show us the way. A great day out and fit this in if you can.
Roger is a really good tour guide… He knows a lot of history and is very dynamic. Take a lot of good pictures in very nice spots. 100% Recommended
Really happy I opted for this tour. After pick up, we drove to mount hua and went up the cable car to go up mount hua and see the exciting views. Our guide Roger took great care of us. On top of the mountain, we visited multiple peaks based on our fitness and the crowds on labour day weekend.
Amazing day at the Terracotta Warriors with our Guide Jacky. Met the Farmer who discovered the Terracotta warriors and got my book signed. You just cannot imagine the scale of this exhibit. The continuing restoration work and discovery of more warriors will be ongoing for years to come. Walked the city walls, amazing, 14 km long. Decorated for the Lantern Festival. Visited The Big Goose Pagoda, peaceful setting, beautiful, worth the visit.
A brilliant day out with our guide Jacky and his very safe driver. Very good English explanation of all the sites visited and safely taken back to our hotel.Just the right time allowed at each site.I highly recommend this tour and their guide and diver.
Our guide Jackie, did an excellent job on our tour. We went to the Terra-cotta warriors, city wall, and the best place to eat.
Jacky is an excellent tour guide. Hes patient and very articulate with a huge wealth of knowledge. Would use him in the future!
Great tour with Jacky and Zhang. Very prompt and informative. I would highly recommend using this tour company and this guide and driver.
Had a nice time seeing the sites in Xi’an with tour guide Jacky. Each person in the group is given the option to be dropped off in the Muslim Quarter. Definitely do it! After strolling the markets, getting a bite and souvenirs, see the Great Mosque and the Drum and Bell Towers close by.
We truly got to see a lot of Xi’an in just one day! Jacky (tour guide) keep us on schedule and told us a lot about the history of the city and its changes since China’s opening up. Group size of ~8 is perfect because you get to meet some other travelers but the number of people is not overwhelming.
This was a great tour of the must sees of Xi'an! Jacky was a great guide and provided lots of good information and history on each of our stops! Great tour!
Spent 2 days in Xi'on a private tour. Our guide Jacky was very helpful and efficient. He took us to the Xian's amazing terracotta army and Musilim quarter etc. Also visited a charming local family for a very nice lunch of local food. Enjoyed our hotel and tour very much. Thanks Jackie.
Jackie was an excellent guide. He was very knowledgeable and patient with our group. He was on time and keep us well informed of our daily itinerary.
