We had a great day with tour guide Carol and Mr Wang the driver. Carol was flexible, and kept the pace moving well. She was knowledgable, funny and on the ball. We felt in good hands with Mr Wang's careful driving. We learned a lot.

Itinerary
Your morning begins with a greeting from your guide right in your hotel lobby. Relax in an air-conditioned vehicle for a 1-hour drive to the Terracotta Army Museum, as your expert guide shares insights into this UNESCO World Heritage site.
Beat the crowds with early entry and enjoy an immersive, 3-hour journey through the 2,200-year-old Terracotta Army of China’s First Emperor. You’ll fully explore all three burial pits housing over 8,000 life-sized warriors, horses, and chariots, as well as a special exhibition featuring rare artifacts. Pit 1: Stand in awe before the massive army, alongside occasional excavation work. Pit 2: Decode the ranks of individual warriors from their postures and armors. Pit 3: Explore the command center of the entire underground army. Your guide won’t just recite history. They’ll bring the legendary Qin Empire to life with fascinating trivia and hidden secrets, revealing a dynasty that once rivaled the Roman Empire. Ready to step back in time?
For lunch, refuel with an upscale buffet featuring over 25 gourmet dishes. Watch chefs prepare authentic local specialties like Chinese hamburgers and hand-pulled noodles right before your eyes in the open kitchen, while enjoying Western favorites like macaroni, fried chicken, and croissants. Finish with a selection of pastries, fruits, and a soft drink. Skip the overcrowded tourist restaurants and low-quality village lunches.
Drive back downtown to visit the pagoda, another World Heritage site and a Silk Road landmark, where Buddhist scriptures brought from India by Monk Xuanzang were translated and spread across China. Built over 1,300 years ago, centuries before Columbus set sail, this architectural marvel famously survived more than ten major earthquakes.
Next, take a walk on the 600-year-old City Wall, the most complete ancient fortification in China. Stretching nearly 14 kilometers (8.7 miles), it offers a vantage point to see how history meets modernity. Bicycles rentals are available on the wall at your own expense.
Drive past the Muslim Quarter, the city’s most vibrant street food paradise. Guests wishing to explore further on their own may disembark here to enjoy the evening independently. Soak in the bustling local life and try delicious cold noodles, pot stickers, or jujube rice cakes.
Guests disembarking at Muslim Quarter need to return independently, while others enjoy our complimentary vehicle transfer back to their hotel. Note: We offer ticket booking, mini-group, and private tour options. Check availability to choose the perfect fit for your travel style.

Carol is an amazing guide. Her knowledge was super. She spoke great English. She helped make sure the tour ran smoothly.
Our guide Lily was awesome. Incredibly knowledgeable and we learnt a lot during the tour. Great experience and wild highly recommend.
Carol is a very knowledgeable and helpful guide who gave really useful and interesting info about throughout the trip on the sights, Xian and China. She took us everywhere we had to go, recommended great photo spots too. The whole trip went smoothly, it was a perfect experience, I recommend!
Carol is a fantastic tour guide! I highly recommend her, she is one of the best guides I’ve ever had. Very knowledgeable, easy to understand, and thoughtful. The driver is also nice, they’re are a good team. Highly recommend!!
Tina is an outstanding guide and an extraordinary person. Her energy and expert narration never let up during our 10-hour private tour with 4 of us. With expert guidance through the buildings housing the Terracotta warriors , such an awesome spectacle, atop the city wall, views of th Bell Tower and Big Pagoda...Tina was still going strong while we were on our last legs at the end from an overly ambitious 2 days of solid touring in 2 cities. Tina was so concerned about us, she made sure to maximize our exploration enjoyment for the day and gave us a recommendation for a great restaurant a minute from our hotel. And when 2 of our party were leaving the next morning, Tina happened to be at our hotel for another tour but helped direct us to the taxi driver who was not at the appointed spot. Can't say enough good things about Tina and the the supercharged experience she provided us in this historical city!
I was very satisfied with this trip. As a solo traveler, trying to figure out logistics and and commute far distance can be rather difficult. And spending all that time trying to figure it out yourself takes away time from the actual experience. My tour guide Celine was able to arrange pick up and all admissions so I could focus on the Terracotta Army at my own pace. She provided so much background and history that I wouldn't have gotten if I were to have just gone myself. If you are looking for a well planned out trip with no hassle, this is the trip to book. Highly recommend.
Nice tour with Celine! We did the full day tour and received a great explanation of it all. Well worth it as we were able to see a lot, as well as have a meal. All admissions were covered and despite the crowds, we saw all the highlights of Xi'an.
The guide was very knowledgeable
A good one day tour if your are strapped for time but it’s a long day. The Terracotta Army is the highlight and probably warranted the full day. Equally walking the wall probably worth doing another longer day. It’s a great city and Lola was good guide.
This is a great tour to see the highlights of Xian in one day. There are always large crowds at the Terracotta Warriors museum and our guide Jacky did an excellent job of navigating the crowds to help us get good views and pictures. He provided interesting context and history as we walked through the different areas. While driving between sites Jacky also shared interesting information on the city of Xian as well as some great stories. Buffet lunch was good. I also liked how the tour was flexible – since I had already walked through the Muslim Bazaar I ended the tour on the City Wall so I could spend more time there. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting a seamless Xian experience!
This was a terrific tour package. We were picked up on time at our hotel and, though it was a rather long and cold day, everything proceeded smoothly with Lily guiding us along the way. She gave us great background on the terracotta warriors, managed to get us to the great photo spots despite the massive crowds, and kept her cool and good humor through it all. The weather turned quite cold when we got to the Wild Goose Pagoda, but she kept us all in good spirits and introduced the pagoda well. At the City Wall, she gave the history and took photos of us, which helped to make the visit more meaningful. At the end, we were dropped off right in front of our hotel, safe and sound. What a wonderful day, despite the cold. Lily was fabulous!
Great tour. Great guide. Rita took really great care of during the tour. So knowledgeable not only about the terracotta warriors but also Chinese history. No complaints.
I had booked this all day tour of Terracotta warriors, Big Giise Pagoda and City wall in Xi'an. After visiting the terracotta warriors in the morning, we were taken back to the city only to be told that my tour had ended as I had only booked a half day tour. I tried explaining and showing my booking which clearly said it was an all day tour to the 3 places, but the tour organiser still kept insisting that I had only booked a half day tour. After some embarrassing argument and reaching a point where I was almost giving up, they allowed me to continue saying that they are making an exception. This was all totally unexpected and embarrassing to say the least for no fault of mine. After this incident, I will not book another trip through Viator.
Roger, our guide, was fantastic! He explained the history so clearly and gave us so much interesting background and context throughout the tour. I’d highly recommend this agency and the experience to anyone visiting Xi’an!
Rita was amazing. Very knowlegable and she knows how to navigate the crowds. She kept us moving so we were able to experience more of the adventure. My only complaint is with the lunch. If you take this tour, request NOT to go to Blue Pool Restaurant. The place was overcrowded. It was a push and shove fight to get food. They ran out of some of the dishes, they ran out of dessert, they even ran out of plates. This restaurant was the only terrible part of the day. (And the restaurant is not part of the tour company.). Again, Rita was amazing and spoke with the management to get some of us food. Rita saved the day. Thank you Rita.
We were happy with the option we have choose to see Xian’s attractions. Guide Tracy has explained everything as guide should and was wellcoming for the whole group.
This was a great tour and really filled a lot into the day. Lily was a wonderful guide, she knew a lot of the area and history of everything. She was also really calm and made you feel relaxed even in the chaos of the day.
Lily was our tour guide for this trip and she was extremely friendly and very fluent in English. Tour was also well-planned and structured. Very good and brought us to good photo spots
Very good information and nicely shared in a relaxed and enthusiastic way by Lily. Big thanks Lily and our great driver for a nicely paced tour day.
We had an amazing tour of Xi’an. Everything was well organized and communicated. Our tour guide Celine was very knowledgeable and friendly. We can recommend this tour.
Brilliant day with a brilliant host. Lola was very skilled and very attentive, she went above and beyond on this trip and made the experience. Good prices for admissions fees and a good length.
Fantastic excursion in the past to the ancient terracota army. Perfectly organized tour with friendly leading and full explanations from our guide Tracy! Unforgetable day for all from our small group
AMAZING tour! Lily was a fantastic guide with excellent English, and we learned so much throughout the day. Hotel pickup was easy and smooth, and Lily tailored the pace to our interests, always making sure we were happy and had enough time at each stop. She also knew all the best photo spots! We visited the Terracotta Warriors, enjoyed a buffet lunch, saw the Great Wild Goose Pagoda, biked along the city wall, and finished at the bazaar. Everything was well organized. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed the tour. Lola, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and this really added to the experience. Thank you
Jacky was an unbelievable guide. What an amazing experience! Thank you!
Went with Jacky, he was the best. I really enjoyed learning from him, he has tons of knowledge. I would recommend Jacky to my friends if they travel here.
You get to see all the highlights of Xi'an in one day without the need to plan your way! My guide, Celine, was very upbeat and full of knowledge. She picked us up from out hotel and even found ways to accommodate and plan for others in my group who had to leave early! You get ample time to see everything and if we finished early, we just moved on to the next spot earlier. The buffet was also a nice touch, definitely try the soup noodles and "chinese hamburger." Definitely recommend, and hope you get Celine!
We had a fantastic day on the Mini Group Xi’an tour to the Terracotta Army, City Wall, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Muslim Bazaar. Our guide, Celine, was wonderful. She was incredibly kind, helpful and knowledgeable, and made the whole day feel easy and well organised. At the Terracotta Warriors she knew exactly where to take us for the best views and photo spots, which made a huge difference in such a busy place. She also gave us a great introduction to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the City Wall, with plenty of interesting information without making the day feel rushed or overloaded. Overall, Celine absolutely made the tour for us. We learnt a lot, saw all the major sights, and felt very well looked after throughout the day. Highly recommended.
What a great day we had! The people on the tour itself was super lovely! Lola our guide was so good and knows her history! We thoroughly enjoyed the day and fully recommend it to everyone looking to visit the Terracotta Army!
We recently took the half day Terracotta Warriors Tour with Lily. My family of four very much enjoyed the tour. We were picked up at our hotel and after picking up the other guests, drove one hour to the site. Lily gave us the background and history of Xi’An and the terracotta warriors during the drive out. The tour was well organized and informative. Thanks Lily!
Took the tour with Roger. Really enjoyed the terracotta warriors in the morning. It was the highlight of Xian. Roger was a great guide. His engligh is better than mine and he was very knowledgeable about the history of the city. Even provided a few local restaurant recommendations. Lunch was buffet style and ample amount of time was provided. Pagoda and city wall were in the afternoon. Bus was slightly small and uncomfortable.
Carol was our guide and she was amazing from start to finish. Spoke loudly and clearly and answered every question we had. She had detailed knowledge of the history and informed us of everything so well.
Tracy was a great guide providing a great overview of what Xi'an as to offer, giving us recommendations on other activities to do in the city
My wife and I booked a small-group day trip with Rita this week, and it was fantastic! The itinerary covered all the major highlights—the Terracotta Warriors, the City Wall, and the Big Wild Goose Pagoda—all without any mandatory shopping stops. This was my first time in Xi'an, and I am so glad we connected with Rita. With over 20 years of experience guiding thousands of visitors, her expertise really showed. She speaks excellent English, has incredible energy, and made our 9-hour tour seamless and highly enjoyable. The logistics were smooth, with hotel pickup around 7:30 AM and drop-off back at the Sheraton around 5:30 PM. It hits all the top sights efficiently, making it perfect if you only have a few days in Xi'an. I highly recommend booking with Rita when you visit
Booked a small group half day tour to see the Terracotta Army with Lily and it was totally worth it. Easy communication and pickup. Lily was very friendly and knowledgeable. Lunch was decent. Easy way to see a very cool part of history.
The tour was nice and well organized. Lily was a great guide who is very knowledgeable about the history of Xi’an, especially about the Terricotta Army. We had great experience during the whole tour from start to end. Thank you Lily!

Lily was a great guide and provided detailed and interesting information. The entire day was well organised from start to finish. It was very enjoyable and I would recommend it.
Jacky made my day/entire trip in Xi'an. The Terracotta Army was the highlight, and having a knowledgeable guide there made it far more meaningful than just walking through on my own. We also visited the Pagoda and the City Wall, both beautiful, and the day was well paced so it never felt rushed. He finished by dropping me off at the Muslim Quarter, which was the perfect way to end the day. Friendly, informative, and easy to spend a day with. Highly recommend booking with Jacky if you're visiting Xi'an.
Carol was an incredible guide. Asked our questions, had patience and made sure we have a great experience. I recomand her!
Well organised trip from beginning to end, our tour guide Tracey was very knowledgeable and very helpful on the tour.
I am thoroughly satisfied with this seamless one-day tour to the Terracotta Army, pagoda, and city wall. The convenient hotel pickup and drop-off made the whole day completely stress-free. Our guide, Tracy, was absolutely fantastic—she spoke excellent English and shared deeply interesting historical facts that brought the landmarks to life. It is impressive how much of Xi'an's important history we efficiently covered in just one day. Overall, this was a highly positive experience and exceptional value for money!
Carol was an excellent guide. She is so kind and patient. She has expert knowledge of the site and fluent English language skills. We find the timings just right too, you arrive just as the museum opens then have just the right amount of time to have guided tours of all the sites with Carol. The buffet lunch was also great, especially the Chinese 'hamburgers' and the freshly made noodles with the beef soup! We definitely recommend this tour
We booked the tour well ahead before visiting Xi an and were very much pleased as everything was perfectly organised. Our pick up at the hotel, the trip by mini bus, lunch, entrance tickets. Our guide, Carol gave us very detailed information about the rich Chinese history related to the Xi an city and places we visited. Great thanks to Carol and Sabrina in the office for answering all our curious questions before and during the tour. It was memorable experience which we definitely recommend.
It was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Starting from the timely pick up at the hotel, proceeding with a really comfortable mini bus. The tour gave us lots of emotions. The guide Lilly was really friendly and informative. We have learned a lot of interesting facts. I also would like to highlight the interaction that she that she always kept with us, asking questions, organizing little quizzes, making sure that everyone was involved. This site itself is absolutely breathtaking. Of course there were loads of people there, but our guide has managed to point out the best views for us to take photos and take a look. The highlight of the tour was meeting one of the farmers who actually had found the first piece of the terra-cotta army. I could talk to him a bit in Chinese. Ask him some questions and take a photo. The Excursion finished at a café with lunch provided by the company. The food was absolutely variable and really delicious. Overall, the whole experience was just absolutely amazing. I recommend everyone joining these tours. Thanks a lot!
It was a very intructive and beautiful tour, very complete. We want to thank Laura for her rich and complete explanations and availability during our tour. We appreciated her way of conducting the different sequences of the visit of four main sites.
I booked this tour during China's very busy Golden Week holiday, and my guide Jacky made the day feel remarkably easy. His experience showed in how smoothly he moved me through the Terracotta Warriors and other Xi'an sights, and he got me close enough to take meaningful photos despite the crowds. Jacky is personable and easy to talk with, and his knowledge of the Terracotta Warriors and the history of Xi'an brought everything to life. Having him interpret and guide made the whole day so much less stressful and far more enjoyable. The driver, Mr. Zhang, was courteous and professional, and got us from place to place comfortably and on time. This travel experience was well worth the cost. I'd happily recommend Jacky and Mr. Zhang to anyone visiting Xi’an.
We had the best time exploring the Terracotta Warriors with our guide Lily. Her English is excellent and she is so knowledgeable. Our drive went by quickly as she shared information about the discovery, meaning, history, and impact of the warriors. Upon arrival at the site, Lily efficiently moved us through the lines for security (note - don’t visit the first week of October as it’s China’s national holiday week! Very crowded!). Inside, she shared loads of information about what we were seeing and took us to the best places to see and photograph the warriors. We then moved on to lunch, which was an excellent buffet with loads of variety. The rest of the day was spent at the pagoda and wall - again, loads of information and context provided by Lily, as well as opportunities to explore on our own. Thanks for a great day, Lily!
Lily was our guide and she was amazing ! She was informative and very knowledgeable. We were on a Terracotta Warriors tour in the middle of Golden week, so there were a crazy amount of people. Lily was calm and managed to get us to great spots for photos and still give lots of information regarding the restoration of the archeological site. The buffet lunch was great and lots to eat.
