Courtyard By Marriott Xi'an North

Friendly and helpful staffs. Especially staffs from the dinning side. Had great breakfast, lunch and dinner at hotel. Our room comes with executive lounge access, drinks and finger food are free. Simple dinner are provided too. We’ve tried the Peking duck set and hotpot buffet. Nice! If u ordered food from Meituan, they do have robot to deliver your food up to your food. But pls note that it doesn’t work all the time. Sometimes my orders are at level 1 reception and not delivered after a long wait, the robot is probably charging or the hotel staff didn’t bother to send up via the robot. I have no idea. So far of all my orders, 20% were delivered. Due to the season is changing to winter, the outside temp is avg 15degC, but the hotel decide to switch the Aircon to warmer. My room become 25degC, and we not able to set to anything lower. It’s tooooo warm to sleep. Thumbs down. Called the reception for help, they send a fan up and advise to open a small gap on side window for outside air. Room temp drop to 23. It’s still warm and hard to sleep. Other than the room hicup, everything else are ok.

Over many years, I stayed mostly at Residence Inn, Fairfield Inn, Renaissance hotel, Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton and at quite a few Courtyard by Marriott in various states in US and in several other countries outside of US. This is by far the best Courtyard experience I had. The staffs are polite and attentive. The hotels and rooms are well maintained and very clean. The lounge was comfortable and the food was tasty.

Major Error: The Google map locator is about 7kms away from the actual location of the hotel (see attached screenshot). It was a significant issue when we reached Xian at midnight. The Marriott should address this issue ASAP, although the given address on the map is right. Hotel: The hotel is great, and appears to be a new property with all the facilities. Definitely a worth while place to stay. I would have given 5 stars for it, but due to Google map error, I have downgraded. I would be happy to upgrade it, if it is corrected and further inconvenience to other guests are corrected.

DISCLAIMER: THE GOOGLE MAPS LOCATION IS NOT ACCURATE. This isn't the fault of the hotel per se, although they could have claimed the property and fixed the address. Google maps shows its within the Xi'an city walls buts it's about 20 minutes taxi ride to the center of town (the bell tower). I attached a picture of where it actually is. On the plus side, it's closer to the airport. Honestly, you don't absolutely need to stay within the city walls. It is easy to walk to the subway station (shitushuguan stop) from the hotel at around 18 minutes and it's directly down the street so you don't need to make any turns. It's a good, clean hotel for the price. The executive lounge has limited happy hour food in comparison to Shanghai. The room is what you expect out of a courtyard in China. It would normally be a $150 room in the states but its much cheaper here.
