What a lovely stay at the Victorian House! From the moment we arrived, everything was wonderful. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
The room was beautiful, comfortable, and spotless, and the location was perfect for exploring the area. The breakfast was also fantastic — fresh, delicious, and a great way to start the day.
Everything from the service and room to the location and breakfast was excellent. We truly enjoyed our stay and would happily return. Highly recommended!
We just had a lovely stay in one of the family rooms, which had a large super king-size bed plus a double sofa bed. It was also a dog-friendly room and we brought our small Cavapoo.
The hotel is recently refurbished and it was beautifully done. The room we stayed in was on the ground floor off the reception and it was beautifully furnished. The bathroom was marble and it was well heated. It was quiet and there was good lighting. It had a TV that we were able to watch lots of smart apps on. It was great.
The location can't be beat. It's walking distance to everything and the on-site parking was a major plus. There are only about 7 spaces for 20 rooms however.
We enjoyed the breakfast that was included in the conservatory. They had a pretty extensive menu - we had a full english, 2x eggs and toast, eggs benedict, plus warm drinks for everyone. The kids loved their own personal hot chocolate in a little tea pot. It was really the nicest conservatory I've ever seen. It was warm, bright, and lovely.
We stayed in the Shepherd's Hut, a very quirky but also overpriced accommodation. Comfy bed, large bathroom but no closet space at all in the rather small living quarters. The hut is surrounded by trees so very dark and the hotel terrace is right next to the hut so there is very little privacy. The staff is very friendly, breakfast is excellent and the hotel building is beautiful so our advice would be not to book the Shepherd's Hut but a different room.
We had a lovely stay here. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our room was very clean!The only issue was the bed was a bit small for the two of us so I didn’t get much sleep, but everything else made up for it. The breakfast was amazing, honestly one of the best I’ve had. The location is great too with a nice walk around the surroundings and a really good choice of restaurants and bars nearby. Overall a great base to stay.
A true gem – way beyond your typical B&B!
From the moment we arrived, we knew we were somewhere special. We received the warmest welcome from the lovely receptionist, who personally walked us to our room and helped carry our bags—a wonderful touch that set the tone for the rest of our stay.
The room itself was exceptionally clean with a comfortable bed (I slept like a log!) and boasts the most beautiful view. Reception even offered complimentary water and homemade cake, which was absolutely delicious.
Breakfast was another highlight, offering both Full English and Continental options. I was truly spoilt for choice, and everything I ate was fresh and full of flavor. The service throughout our stay was above and beyond, and the beautiful garden area adds such a peaceful, charming vibe to the property.
I can't recommend this place highly enough. We’ll definitely be back!
