Stayed for 2 nights, there is refurbishing going on but too be honest we didn't notice , staff are lovely and can't fault them , rooms very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely freshly cooked. Friend opted for full English which to be fair was lovely , I went for poached egg and they were cooked perfectly. Couldn't fault our stay .

Stayed here for Dave Day. Room was ideal for me, clean decent TV & ensuite show room. Breakfast was ok for the price. Staff are friendly & helpful. Good value.
The hotel is in a great location, right near the town centre, with buses at the end of the road. The room was very spacious and incredibly homely and warm. Beds were comfy. The bathroom had a bathtub. The room was well lit and nice and quiet, making it perfect for a good night’s sleep. The staff were very hospitable. Breakfast was good, though the dining room could do with brighter lighting. I’ve stayed in other well- known chain hotels across the country and would say that my stay here felt more refreshing than any of my stays there, mainly due to the homely and warm atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barrow-in-Furness
The hotel was really comfortable. The rooms were clean and I had a good night’s sleep. The only issue that I had was at breakfast. There was no written record of the breakfast service times. Although this may have been stated during check in, this is a lot of information to take in at once and I would expect this information to be printed somewhere. I arrived at the breakfast room around 5 to 9 and the staff informed me that I was too late to have a cooked breakfast, because the breakfast service time was between 7-9 am. This was slightly disappointing. I felt that it was misleading for the hotel to advertise a breakfast as included in the room cost when they make excuses not to fulfill their offer. Whether the staff were technically correct in enforcing the breakfast times or not, their pedantic attitude and the lack of information that is made available to customers demonstrates poor customer service and detracted from my enjoyment and my impression of the company. I was also disappointed that there was no filter coffee available at breakfast, only instant coffee.
This hotel was once a wonderful place. Until covid and it became a HMO for immigrants. It was a place where locals would host parties and events but that ship has long sailed and it has gained a really negative reputation and has been let go into disrepair. Locals are actually really sad about what has happened to this hotel. The carpet... please replace this ASAP, I have never seen a carpet so filthy. We had the best room apparantly. . It was clean and tidy and had clearly been modernised but there was a smell like fresh sewerage and it was nasty. The lift also smells of damp, it was apprant as there are car fresheners hanging in there. Breakfast - felt like it was back in the 90s, despite being free there are aome things I would change. Cooked breakfast was nice, toast, cereal, tea, coffee, juice, warm yoghurts. Only apples and oranges no bananas. But it was dated, the whole setup is dated. Like they are trying to make up for something. The damp issue with the building does need to be rectified and I would rate the hotel currently as a 2 star max. Car parking could be made more brighter, a lick of paint would help also make the area feel safer. Maybe a gate to the parking area would also be beneficial. It is an ideal area for a crime to be committed so be careful. CCTV. The reception staff are good. Young lady blonde hair very kind and courteous. The guy on the desk wasn't all that helpful blamed the smell on the 'sani flo' which i dont believe and handed me a bottle of air freshener. Overall Barrow is a lovely town, plenty to offer if given aome TLC. It use to be booming years ago, however it has slipped into a negative cycle. However the people here are the friendliest I have met.
