Just a mile from Lake Windermere in the heart of the Lake District, this luxury boutique hotel offers home-cooked food and free Wi-Fi. Windermere Rail Station is only 15 minutes’ walk away, and there is free parking on site. Originally the second home of a wealthy Edwardian gentleman, Windermere Boutique Hotel still retains many charming features like open fires and beamed ceilings. Rooms all feature a large widescreen TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, and a king-size bed and luxury bathroom. Some luxury suites have outdoor hot tubs and seating areas. The hotel is close to the World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, and Bowness, which is just a short drive away. The surrounding National Parkland is great for walking and cycling, and Ambleside is just 5 miles away.

Lovely hotel in Windermere. Room 5, bathroom and kitchenette located from the hall and then the bedroom. Very large comfortable bed, colour changing lights above, large TV and doors leading straight out into the garden which was appreciated as we had a little dog with us. Wooden bench to sit on and soak up the sun. GHD straighteners (perfect) and hairdryer, Dyson blade less fan. Located close to town centre and only a 20 minute wander down to Bowness on Windermere and the lake. Fab!

We booked five rooms, all on the ground floor: one apartment and four studio rooms. Every room was amazing, clean, comfortable, and equipped with a small kitchen. The apartment was especially perfect for our family dinners late at night. It had everything we needed for cooking, as well as a dishwasher, so no one had to argue about who was going to wash the dishes during the family vacation 😅
The location is also excellent. It is only about a six-minute walk from Windermere town centre, where you can find lovely restaurants, coffee shops, and souvenir shops, and around a 15-minute walk to the lake.
The hotel itself is beautiful, and the backyard is amazing and very well maintained. You can tell that someone takes great pride and joy in looking after it.

Clean hotel, 12 mins walk from towncentre. Lovely shower rooms.
The only downside is smaller size of the rooms especially if you are travelling with a toddler. Perfect for a couple otherwise.
If they could add breakfast at this price, it would add five stars to it.
We had a wonderful stay at Kotel Windermere! The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully maintained, with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The facilities were excellent, making our visit relaxing and enjoyable from start to finish.
The staff were welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help, which made us feel right at home. The location is also perfect for exploring the stunning Lake District.
Thank you to the entire team at Kotel Windermere for the outstanding hospitality. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped, and memorable place to stay.
A good location and the room was very nice for a short stay. There was no wardrobe but two sets of drawers and hangers on the wall outside the bathroom. Lovely walk in shower. The bed had a very soft mattress which didn’t suit us also the room was extremely warm despite no heating on. There was a fan but it was noisy. Couldn’t open the windows because the security cord was broken.
