Expect the unexpected in this new concept guest house, just 1 minute's walk from Lake Windermere and its beautiful bustling village of Bowness-on-Windermere, the heart of the English Lake District. The owners have established something fresh and exciting at The Cranleigh. The atmosphere is friendly and informal, while the accommodations has all the cutting edge style of an expensive boutique hotel. The lounge is classic style, with open fire place, leather furniture and mellow decor; a great place to relax with a glass of wine, champagne or one of the local ales. Hearty breakfasts are served in equally stylish surroundings. Bedrooms are simply stunning and totally contemporary, each with an individual style from a professional interior designer. All have luxurious goose-down duvets and fine cotton sheets, iPod docking stations, large screen TVs, DVD players (with free access to a large collection) and free WiFi access. The fully tiled private bathrooms have designer fittings by Villeroy Boch, heated floors, mood lighting, dual-fuel towel rails, spacious shower enclosures and bathrobes. Those with air spa baths have a mirrored TV at the end of the bath for utter indulgence. Please note that the hotel is nonsmoking throughout and is unsuitable for children.

We had a wonderful stay here during our Lake District vacation. The location was perfect, with Lake Windermere just a few minutes' walk from the boutique, making it incredibly convenient to explore the area. The weather was unusually hot during our visit, so the room did get quite warm, but the staff were very helpful and promptly provided us with a fan, which made our stay much more comfortable. The breakfast spread was excellent, with plenty of delicious options to choose from each morning. Overall, it was a lovely stay, and we'd happily recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District.

Stayed in the hideout house for 5 nights. Location is fantastic and central to everything. House was set up great. Jacuzzi bath with the large TV was amazing along with the bar. Bed was comfy. Felt secluded but still with the luxury of being part of a hotel. Really enjoyed our stay and hopefully will be back in the future.

A Beautiful place to stay just a couple of minutes walk away from shops and restaurants. Staff are brilliant and so polite, Luxury Room was fantastic nice and cosy with a spa bath and lovely shower. Breakfast was outstanding multiple choice and one of the best I've had when we've visited the lakes. We would definitely Recommend this hotel and we will certainly return in the future.

My wife and I recently stayed in The Seduction Suite for our anniversary. The room was amazing very comfortable and clean. we had an issue with the hot water which was resolved and we were given a bottle of prosecco which made up for it. The breakfast was also brilliant. Location was great only a stone thrown from the centre of Bowmess. Staff were very pleasant and polite. Would definitely stay again
