Really really good in depth hunt, the clues stump you at first but when you find it you think 'ahhh', I would say not worth the money since you get nothing in return but was very interesting and fun. Highly recommend!!

I bought the treasure hunt as a fun way to spend a couple of hours with my adult son. We bought the Leeds experience, which is also our home town, and even though we know leeds city centre very well we still found the clues really challenging and also learnt quite a bit of local history that we didn't know. I can highly recommend!
Captain Bess Treasure Hunts are an excellent way to get to know a new city or find out things you didn't know about a city you think you know well. The Leeds hunt was fascinating - we love how every clue found finishes with a bit of a history lesson on that particular part of the city. We learned loads and had a lovely walk around the city at the same time.
This was a great fun way to see some of Leeds and even learn a little about the City . I have no doubt we saw more of Leeds than we would have, while having fun at the time . The level was just right. I would recommend.
It was a great experience, we got to learn things about Leeds (and ourselves haha) navigating and delegating directions needs to be organised lol we had a good laugh though looking for things around us and celebrating when we found them! Some directions were tricky at the end but that would maybe be down to the navigator! Great fun! P.S. best part was finding the pubs on way we would never have thought, Briggate - The Ship Inn for those who don’t appeal to ale
Having done a few treasure hunts before, we knew what to expect and weren’t disappointed. Great treasure hunt and fantastic amount of information given, not too much, not too little. We took slightly longer than 3 hours due to the Christmas market and stopping for lunch. Highly recommended
Really good fun, clues were challenging enough and it was a great way to explore the city. Something different to do as a group with plenty of stops along the way for drinks!
Fun way to spend an afternoon looking around a city. Love the fun facts and historical facts! There are lots of things you wouldn't notice otherwise. Puzzles are challenging enough to get most adults interested throughout! Only thing I would like to see is the game being available for 1 person, not a minimum of 2!
I have worked in Leeds and never seen much. This experience enabled us to see the lovely buildings and spaces with a little education. Lots of places to look at when next here. The scavenger was a lot of fun with plenty of interesting photo opportunities
Really excellent way to see around Leeds! We thoroughly enjoyed it! We’d say worth doing at the start of your trip, so you have momentum, and get a feel for the city.
The hunt is really good fun. The clues were a good level of challenge and the trail introduced us to bits of of Leeds we'd never seen before as well as some interesting facts. The hunt was easy to join and straightforward for everyone to participate on their phones, with a really easy to use interface. It was great being able to do it at our own pace and pause to pop in shops and have a drink when we wanted. Overt a great experience!
Really good fun. Great way to see the city! Some clues were trickier than others but the hints helped. Recommended if this is your first time in Leeds!
A great way to explore a city and learn more about it along the way. We’ve done similar trails before but really liked the WhatsApp format of this- so easy to use it and meant everyone could see what was going on rather than just the one person holding all the information. We liked the stories along the way. Also, the suggestions about places to have a drink with links was great. A good level of challenge which meant we had to try hard (and were too stubborn to take hints!) on some while others were more straightforward. I’d strongly recommend this as a vehicle for a day in a city with friends!
We loved it. Just like all the reviews say, it was fun, informative, had just the right amount of history, and exercise and making us think!
I booked treasure hunt Leeds for my self and my team who were looking for a local team building event. We are based in Leeds city centre. The whole process was easy and seamless from beginning to end. From the professional communication and easy to use technology. We had a great morning. It was great fun and the team got a little competitive. For the price it was perfect.
A very entertaining and educational experience. The web app was very slick and worked without any issues. Took around 3 hours, including drink breaks.
Great fun! We had a family group of 5 aged between 26-73yrs old and had a fab time. Very easy to use and we learned a lot about Leeds (and the two young ‘uns live there!). Would defo recommend.
Day out with a friend and our two, 11 and 10 years old kids. A really fun day out for a good price over the school holidays. We saw parts of Leeds we haven't been to before and learnt quite a lot too. Great way to sneak in some excercise for the kids, and a sneaky bottle of wine for us adults towards the end! We took 4 hours, but we stopped 2 times for snacks and lunch, plus treated the kids to some shopping in Trinity. Would definitely recommend. ( The hosts were easily contactable for questions begore we set off and really helpful too. )
As 4 ladies local to Leeds we thought we knew our city but learnt lots of new and interesting facts and saw things we’d not noticed before. The hunt was just difficult enough. We needed hints on a couple of clues but enjoyed the challenge of searching for the answers. We are looking forward to trying another hunt in the future.
Great fun running around Leeds, 2 teams of friends trying to be 1st. Great clues and lot of info aw well. Highly recommend
Loved it. Learned lots and fun whilst visiting quite a few pubs along the way. It’s nice to see parts of the city you don’t usually have to stop and look at.
A fun treasure hunt around Leeds, it gave a little more insight and history to the city. The clues were not too difficult and you had to look around. We did the hunt with my grown up daughter and husband and we all enjoyed it. We do all like quizzes and mysteries so maybe slightly biased. Super sleuths will complain that it is not hard enough but we had a good 3 hours with stops Would do it again in another city
The treasure hunt was brilliant - just the right length and really informative. We bought this at the last minute as we had wanted to meet up in the sunshine. The hunt even taught me some history I didn’t know - and I have lived here my whole life!
We had so much fun on the treasure hunt! Despite being Leeds locals, we discovered new things and learned more about the city. The clues were challenging in a good way and we really enjoyed looking around for clues. Would highly recommend!
This is a great way to get to know any city! Some of us had lived in Leeds and we still found out new things and places we didn’t know about! The hunt itself is really well organised and the clues are just the right level of being a bit tricky but not too impossible. The teenagers liked the fact it was all done on the phone and it was easy to use and follow. We stopped off for drinks and food along the way which made a full day of it. Would absolutely recommend for a fun day out!
We started to play at 9:30am and had 3 fun filled hours of hunting. It allows you to see many wonders of Leeds that would otherwise be missed, sharing history of the city with fun facts.
We did the treasure hunt in Leeds for a friends 60th Birthday. We all really enjoyed the treasure hunt, showing us parts of Leeds that we have never visited before. We were able to schedule a few drinking stops in too and the weather was glorious which helped. The clues were really fun, and not too difficult, although we did need a few hints along the way. Would really recommend this trip and we are hoping to do this again in another city later on in the year.
Really fun experience and fun day out in Leeds. Despite going to college in Leeds for 5 years this allowed me to see and understand more of the area than I’d ever seen before. Would highly recommend and will look to do more of their tours in other cities in the future
Even though I’ve been to Leeds many times, doing a virtual treasure hunt is a brilliant way for you to see and understand more of a city that you wouldn’t see via the usual way of just strolling around and hoping for the best. We did ours 3rd January, and whilst the start of the hunt might have been hindered by a lot of the Xmas fairs / events stuff still being present it was clear, simple and easy to navigate. The final clue was really tricky, took us ages and a couple of hints but overall really good fun and informative.
Thank you for a great day. My friend & I really enjoyed our treasure hunt in Leeds. We both lived in Leeds for several years but we learned so many bew facts about the city we both love. We would highly recommend this entertaining & informative activity.
Perfect way to wonder round a city for a few hours, excellent clues and we all had a great time. Will definitely be doing this again in other cities.
Perfect fun day, great treasure hunt fun, perfect way to see a city. Clues were just the right level of hard.
You get to see lots without having to walk too far. Loved the little facts, historic pictures and detours along the way. 3 hours is an accurate guide for time without hurrying. Good value for up to 6 people. Might wear some costumes next time to add to the quest-vibe.
Amazing sights and a great adventure arounds the city centre in Leeds. Very inventive and fun for all. Would reccomend to anyone.
A fun, interesting and educational experience. We loved that we could do it in our time. We stopped for lunch and a couple of drinks along the way. We've all lived in Leeds a long time and we're amazed at how much we hadn't paid attention to before.
Excellent fun for our office social. Very well organised and lots of fun. Found out lots of interesting facts about Leeds. I would definitely recommend.
Great family day out, learnt plenty of new things about landmarks around the city we never knew. Would love to do another especially in Leeds if there was one!
Incredible experience - really enjoyed learning more about Leeds and spotting features we wouldn’t normally see. The browser app was really easy to use and worked smoothly on mobile data the whole time. The addition of historic pictures and maps in the app made the whole experience more interactive. Absolutely worth the money (£20) and would do again in a different city. Only points to mention: - Whilst the suggested time is around 2 hours, it took us a lot longer than that, factoring in rest stops, etc. A definite positive, but one to keep in mind! - Start and end location is around the Art Gallery. This is currently the site of an ongoing Palestinian protest - and when we went, the site of one of the riots - and as a result, one of the first clues was impossible to find and the last few were inaccessible due to the riots. Overall, really enjoyed the experience and would recommend!
We were in Leeds for a hen do, and there was a mix of people who lived in Leeds and people who were visiting & was finding it hard to find activities that were fun for everyone attending. The treasure hunt was the perfect choice as it tested the knowledge of the people who lived in Leeds & the other people got to see the city! We enjoyed that everyone was able to submit answers from their phone & was very interactive! Unfortunately we didn't get a chance to finish the game (we allowed ~2.5 hours) but we stopped for breakfast and went into a few shops, and struggled on some clues, but that was no fault of the activity!! I would allow 3 hours to complete the hunt. Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of doing this!
Just done a virtual treasure hunt in Leeds. Some of the clues were tricky some easy, but we had a great time exploring parts of the city we would never have seen before. Great way to spend a couple of hours. And the rain didn’t put us off.
The treasure hunt gave us a good flavour of what Leeds has to offer. The clues were a good level and we had lots of fun. It takes in all the sites and you don't have too far to walk either plus there's plenty of time to stop and have food/drinks.
We did the treasure hunt as a team activity & enjoyed an interesting afternoon wandering around Leeds. The clues were just challenging enough to keep us on our toes (we did ask for a few clues along the way). We would do another treasure hunt in the future :)
We had really hoped for nice weather when we booked this but it wasn't to be ,we had rain for the whole of the time we were doing it but strangely enough it didn't matter at all as it was so much fun . The trail instructions were really easy to download onto my phone and all the team were able to access it on their phones also ,luckily I did take a charging brick as advised because it did flatten my phone battery .I would highly recommend this and felt the price was an absolute bargain, when shared between 6 of us it worked out at £4 each for 3 hours of entertainment and fun. We are all local but still learnt a lot of interesting things about Leeds that we didn't know .
Great thing to do with teenagers. Lived in Leeds most of my life but still learnt a lot about the city, would definitely recommend.
We had a good time in Leeds. The clues were nice, not too hard not too easy. It was lovely to learn something about the town and have a great time with the family.
It’s a really good way to see Leeds and find out facts you wouldn’t know otherwise. It’s also very fluid in that you can do it at your own pace. We would definitely recommend it!
This is an interactive and entertaining way to explore Leeds. It was helpful that you could pause the hunt to do your own exploring and food stops too. Even our teenager enjoyed it!
We really enjoyed just getting about in Leeds whilst the sun was shining and completing the riddles. It was really interesting to learn some history I didn’t know about Leeds too. Would recommend :)
It’s the perfect date, fun for all ages - clues were challenging whilst also each being solvable. Would recommend as a day to walk around and solve riddles.
Fun way to experience the city! I found some fun little shops we never would have otherwise and enjoyed the facts you got along the way! Unfortunately we couldn't get to a couple of the "answers" as certain places were closed off, but we still had a good time!
