The best swimming beach in Wellington! Gorgeous white sands in a sheltered spot. Plenty of space to picnic of the grass and beach. There's a cafe serving ice-cream and lunch.

Had the perfect day riding along the coastline to Red Rock. Staff showed me the best ways to use the bike, most scenic vs. most efficient ways to reach my destination, even how to spot some seals once at Red Rock! Easy to book online, easy to get started day of. Well worth the price, and definitely an amazing way to experience outer Wellington area!
Fun day biking over 35km. Map provided was great allowing us to bike to each point before heading back. Shop was very flexible as we switched our day reserved.

We were coming from a cruise ship. It was a pretty long walk to the bike shop from the cruise shuttle drop off, but doable. The guys at the shop were nice and knowledgeable. We rode around the peninsula along the coast. It was very clean and easy with bike paths. But be advised-Wellington is very windy!

An amazing self guided tour of over 25km of seawall and then an additional 7km back through the city bike lanes to return to the shop. The map and routing were incredible!!! Many bays and beaches and cafes that you can stop in at are endless!! What an incredible asset to the city of Wellington!!! So much beauty and fun!!
This company were so helpful in ensuring we had the correct sized bikes. The bikes had plenty of storage onboard. The peninsula to ride around is beautiful if a little windy.
I've only tried an eBike once by taking a test drive on a relative's machine and didn't like how it operated. With the hills and strong, consistent winds of Wellington, I thought it best to try renting one. I received great instructions from the staff and was encouraged to try it locally first before venturing off, which was good advice. On flat surfaces, I really didn't see a need to engage the electronic assistance, but once I hit the steep hills and the 30 mph sustained winds, I appreciated the extra support. This eBike was much smoother than my relative's, and truly felt like it was just assisting and not lurching forward on its own power. There was only one issue that I didn't anticipate or notice until I returned back to my hotel. I have 2 bikes at home...and one has an enclosed chain guard...and the other uses a belt. That is why I forgot about the grease on the eBike's chain. I had it all over my pants on the bottom right. I don't blame anyone but myself as I am an adult, but I would recommend a reminder be provided if the customer is wearing pants in the future. Thank you!
The best way to see Wellington. Take the track next to the water for a completely different experience than downtown. One of our favorite residential coastlines.
A really nice guy running this shop with his darling pup set us up on easy to manage bikes with a map and a beautiful ride along the coast. A little bit of a hike from the port, but definitely doable. We enjoyed our day!
Many bikes to choose from. Staff where extremely helpful during bike selection. They pointed me to a 3-wheeler e-bike, which was useful as I am slightly disabled. Less worry about balance, more focus on scenery and exercise on my ride around the bays.

Staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Explained the standard route for the self guided tour well, breaking down sections and timings to allow planning. Staff also explained the bikes well, highlighting correct use ensuring correct sizes. Overall experience was great, easy booking, arrival and handing back the bikes was easily completed. Overall vibe from the team was excellent, would happily ride again if around this area of the world in the future.
They have very good bikes and spend time explaining the map and locations to you. Would highly recommend.

It was our first time to ride an Ebike. We did the self guided tour. We began later in the afternoon. We should have started in the morning so we could have stopped for coffee. We had a blast and the sights were amazing.
Instructions were very good and the route. The day was beautiful. The bikes worked well. I had never ridden an electric bike before it was very fun easy to go up hills
An excellent experience all around! The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable and helped us plan our ride. We had to change our plans a few times and they were perfectly accommodating. We'd love to do it all again - so much to see in this beautiful place.
Gorgeous ride along Wellington's bays. I was travelling solo and adapting to riding on the 'other' side of the road but felt completely safe. The views were outstanding!
My son, who is 17, and I went on the long ride around the bays in Wellington and absolutely loved it. First-time riders of e-bikes and really enjoyed it. Started our ride at about 9 am and returned the bikes at 3.30 pm. Thoroughly enjoyed our day, and the electric bikes made it an easy ride up those big hills!
Really great service with friendly and knowledgeable staff. The e-bikes were really good and well maintained. They had all the extras you need such as gloves, jackets and bike locks. We booked through Get Your Guide and they sent us directions. This involved walking over a mile to the meeting point only to find that they had moved. Not the fault of the central company! Highly recommended.
Really good service and well kept bikes. It was easy to find next to tell papa museum with large sign. The bikes were well maintained and easy to use. This was first time I used ebike and I found the instructions clear and simple to follow. Had great time.

We had an amazing bike trip with Switched on Bikes. The rental office was easy to find. Everyone at the bike rental were very helpful. Fitted our bikes and helmet and gave us a little bike around to make sure the bikes were working well. Than gave lots of options and ideas as to where to bike. We explored the coastline went in to the Weta Cave than for lunch at Shelly Bay Chocolate Fish Cafe EXCELLENT. Ended up biking all day SO FUN Thank-You Switched on Bikes

We had a wonderful four hours of easy biking. Going up Mt Victoria was no trouble at all and, when the wind came up later on, we were very grateful for the electric boost we had so that we didn't have to pedal into the wind. We highly recommend this company as the whole process was so easy, from booking online to the information given about the bikes and routes. They were also very accommodating when we had to reschedule our initial reservation - nothing seemed to be a problem. This is a well-oiled machine! An awesome way to explore Wellington. Cycling in and out of picturesque bays while also stopping at landmarks and points of interest. The electric bike made this tour a dream, especially when riding uphill. We absolutely loved this tour.
The bikes allowed easy riding up Mt Victoria & to the water towers on the opposite side of the bay. The bay areas are so picturesque & the bike paths make for safe touring.

Welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Suggested excellent routes for the two of us and the rented e-bikes. Talked us through the e-bike controls and adjusted the e-bikes so we were comfortable. The e-bikes themselves were fully charged and very well maintained. Excellent on all fronts! 10/10. Highly recommended.
We had the best weather which made the ride all the more enjoyable. The scenery was fantastic and we really enjoyed Ryan and Jack, our two trusty guides, they were very helpful and fun. E-Bikes are great in a headwind, something you're 90% certain to encounter in Wgtn! Wgtn motorists are generally used to sharing the road, unlike the region we visited from : ( so safety in traffic wasn't so much of an issue. The crew at Switched On are great, good advice about routes and selecting/setting up the bikes for us. Highly recommended if you want to cover some ground, be independent, and have some fun.

It was a really windy and drizzly day in Wellington but the lads gave me some really good advice on where to ride for the wind direction and I definitely got the most out of the day and saw a lot more of Wellington then I would have otherwise. Got gear and bike locks provided for those cafe/bar stop offs.
