Tara was a great guide The weather in the morning was raining and cold so we hesitated do it but lucky for us the sun came out and we had a great ride. She gave us a bit of history and took us up to the highest view point. The ride along the waterfront was spectacular. Highly recommend this tour

I had such a wonderful morning with guide Tara! Tara was so knowledgeable and an absolute delight! I learned so much about Wellington and saw so many beautiful places that I would have missed had I just rented a bike on my own. Highly recommend!
We enjoyed this tour. Jack was a great guide and had some fun stories. He even gave us a great dinner recommendation.
Fantastic experience, highly recommended. The guide was very informative and friendly. A great way to orientate yourself to Wellington.
Well organized, great commentary along the way. Bikes were easy to operate. Jack and Ryan were terrific. Our group of 7 was a great size.
The tour guide was very informative & knew her stuff when we stopped at the different attractions. The ebikes were very easy to ride & well maintained. I would recommend this company to anyone who is thinking of a bike ride around Wellington.
This was our first e-bike experience and it was the way to explore the area. Our guide Carra was very knowledgeable about history and legends of the area. Beautiful scenery, mostly flat with 1 long hill, that’s where the e-bike part came in really handy. I loved every minute of it.
Good tour round the bay with lots of information about the city and the surrounding area. Done at a comfortable pace on good quality bikes.
Relaxing bike ride that also taught us more about the lovely city of Wellington. Our guide was informative and made the afternoon so fun!
Biking around Wellington, what could be better? I was worried because I am not an experienced cyclist, nor am I in great shape however, the E bike was perfect even on the uphill areas. My guide Stephanie was wonderful. She was full of interesting information about Wellington as she is from here and was funny and very sweet. I truly enjoyed this activity. I would suggest doing this on one of your first days in Wellington so that you can see so many sites and get an idea where everything is. On a clear day at the top of the mountain you can see all of Wellington. At the end we enjoyed an ice team at the pier. This is such an amazing place!
Great experience, pretty windy, interesting commentary by Patrick, great views over the city from the high point
Thanks Patrick for your excellent guiding, informing, showing, talking, joking, ice feeding during our tour with you. It was fun and inspiring to see how Te Ora is situated we had lovely weather💪 Thanks also for advisinh the Coene’s Restaurant in the Yacht Club. It was great and lovely sight towards harbour.
Fun day. The hill to the water tanks was challenging. Need to be in reasonable physical shape. Experience on an e-bike helps. Tara our guide was really good
Easy ride, super helpful and patient staff. Good quality bikes. They have helmets and windbreaker/hi-vis jackets to use. Our guide knew a lot about the history of Wellington. Safety was very important to all. I really enjoyed the experience.
Fantastic morning , informative and fast paced with an excellent guide . Worth the spend
We were on a cruise and this was our favorite shore excursion. The guides were so friendly and fun and the bikes were so easy to use. Loved the beautiful views from the top of the hills. And loved the ice cream!
Be prepared for a challenging ascent uphill to the water towers. Make sure in turbo power and then enjoy reaching the top for a fantastic view. The wind gusts around the Bay Area on the way back were very strong but our guides were fantastic, giving us suggestions, guidance and assistance when needed.
Great tour with experienced guides and good equipment. Highly recommend. View of the bay from the top of mountain was incredible.
Booked a private guided tour as part of our day in Wellington from a cruise. Ryan was great at communicating prior to our arrival and everything ran smoothly. Darcy was a great guide and worked to make sure our entire party was comfortable on the bikes and throughout the tour. It was a windy Wellington day but we loved every moment! Don’t hesitate to book this tour.
The tour was a lot of fun. The E-bikes were easy to ride and they provided very clear instructions. There are a lot of bike paths so you don’t have to ride in the road. The views were spectacular. Denny was our guide and he was very nice and very patient with us. I would highly recommend this tour.
We didn’t get a chance to take the E bike ride because of heavy rains, but they were very accommodating and gave us a full refund without any question that alone requires a recommendation
Great experience with Switched on Bikes. The e-bikes were some of the most comfortable we have ever rented. Patrick was a great guide and took us to some places we would never have found on our own and provided lots of info and history of Wellington. We came into Wellington via cruise ship and booked this tour independently and direct through Switched on Bikes. They picked us up right at the port. If you are arriving by cruise ship, I definitely recommend them as an alternative to the cruise ship excursion.
We had a wonderful ride and tour with Patrick and we have not ridden bikes for the last 35 years! It really was an awesome way to see the harbor areas!
Our guide started with a tour of the harbour giving some history of the Maori people. Then we went to the mount overlooking the bays via WETA studio area, visiting the old prison and their Gardens, stopping various landmarks. It can get very windy enroute but the bikes made light work of the ride. We finished off with a Gelato on the bay.
Wonderful day seeing area on bikes. We were picked up at terminal and taken to bike shop which helped because shop a bit off beaten path. Our guide was excellent as well. Saw alot of area and even were treated to icecream afterwards at a cool old theatre.
Patrick was awesome - knowlegeable and friendly! The ride was our best tour yet in NZ! The bikes made for easy travelling so don't be concerned about your level of fitness. Highly recommend!
Great cycle tour on E bikes with Jack! Mostly on the flat with lovely views. A good fun & informative afternoon out!
This tour is an absolute must. Really enjoyable. Bikes were well maintained. Extra clothing available if needed. Guides were making sure we were all OK during the tour. Loads of information during the ride. Absolutely loved the day. Included is a drink or ice cream, which was a bonus. I did the 4 hour tour, loved every minute. Thank you 😊
Stephanie was 100% amazing, I enjoyed my time with her a lot and she was detailed, nice and friendly. I wouldn’t ask for any other better days or better guide, what a good one today!
So much fun. Guide was knowledgeable and showed us many different sites and advice about what to see. The electric pedal assisted bikes were great enabling us to get up hills with ease.
This was a great bike ride. Went up to the water tanks and had a wonderful view. Ebikes are awesome. Pedal as much or as little as you want. It was pretty windy - when it was a side wind you really had to careful but the guide warned us of this. Don’t hesitate to- easy and great ride with an e-bike.
We had a fabulous trip. Jack was very knowledgeable and made the trip very interesting. Easy cycling except for one steep hill, which wasn’t a problem at all on an e-bike. The ice cream towards the end was also a nice touch. Would highly recommend!
Switched on Bikes picked us up promptly, outfitted us with our bikes and took the time to be sure we were all confident before proceeding. Jack looked out for all of us and paced the ride perfectly.
Christian, the tour guide, was fantastic and so knowledgeable about history! It was a great e-bike tour. Very easy and beautiful ride. Great views. Would definitely recommend!
We completed the 3-4 hour e-bike tour of Wellington. It was absolutely stunning and our host really made the trip by providing great historic insights along the way which kept it both fun and educational. We covered 23km which is easy on the e-bike tour and took in some stunning views of Wellington and it's surroundings. Could not recommend this trip high enough!
Bike tour was awesome and the views stunning! We rode along the coast and it was very windy at times but a great experience. All 4 of us had a fantastic time! Our guides Tara and Dillon were very attentive and knowledgeable! Definitely recommend this to everyone who wants to get a little exercise and have an amazing view of the entire harbor and surrounding area!
This was a great way to see more of Wellington and learn from a local. Our guide, Dylan, was awesome. Helpful, knowledgeable and interesting. He made the tour so enjoyable. Great views from the top of the hill and the gelato was a nice treat to finish.
Had a great day seeing the sites by e-bike could not believe how easy it was with the power assist to help you on your travels
Tara did a great job leading us and providing interesting information and stories. The bikes were in great shape and very easy to operate. There was one steep long hill but with the E bike assist it was easy. We were happy we took the morning tour as the route wasn’t very busy but got busier on our return so is probably very busy later in the day with pedestrians, runners and other riders.
Awesome tour. Tara our guide was super friendly and knowledgeable. She made sure everyone was comfortable riding as a group. She fixed my bike during the ride after I got loose on the pump track! Lots of interesting information about Wellington. European aspects and Māori legends. Highly recommended.
A great way to have a look around Wellington with guides who have good knowledge of the area and its history. The 2 Jack’s were great guys and were funny while being serious about safety and making sure everyone was having a fun ride. We had a calm day it would be when windy Wellington was at its best! The icecream at the end was an unexpected bonus - passion fruit flavour well worth it!
We really enjoyed our e-bike tour around Wellington harbour. Mostly easy cycling with one steep uphill to a great viewpoint, definitely appreciated the boost given by the e-bike on the steep uphill! Our guide, Jack, was really informative and chatty and the ice cream stop near the end was an added bonus! A fun way to spend a few hours in Wellington.
Jack was a great tour guide! Full of fun stories. Loved the bikes we were loaned. Wonderful experience!
Great fun. Nice to learn about the city especially on its day. Thank goodness for the pedal assist to get us up the hill for the fantastic views. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We all enjoyed it.
Great tour, slower pace, medium distance. Guide was fun and knowledgeable. Good way to learn some of Wellington’s history
We were on a cruise and walked to the bike location. The bike tour was very fun and we received a lot of information along the way. Very good communication from the start which we appreciated.
Our ride in Wellington with Dylan was awesome! He ensured our safety while having fun and educating us on the Wellington factoids. The e-bikes were in great condition and the riding path was smooth and scenic. Highly recommend for those who want to be active and see Wellington on bike.
We enjoyed our guided bike tour of Wellington! Dylan was our guide and he ensured our safety and was knowledgeable of the areas we were riding through. The e-bikes were awesome and in great condition. Highly recommend!
I love doing cycle tours of cities and thoroughly recommend it to get a flavor of the place. I’ve done over 20 to date. I took the 3-4 hour tour and was a little disappointed that biking time was less than 2 hours. This might have partly been caused by a bathroom stop of at least 25 minutes because there were only two cubicles and there was a long queue. Going out, there were lots of stops so it was slow going. We did 23km in total.
A wonderful experience!!!! Great ride with great commentary. It was a very windy day, which made it an interesting challenge and a lot more fun. Highly recommended.
