The White Swan Country Hotel

Beautiful accommodation - scrupulously clean, warm, comfortable. The meals we had in the Gastro Pub were outstanding. We had bangers and mash (uniquely flavoured to make them a cut above the usual offerings under this heading) and the Seafood Rigatoni - a perfect dish - every mouthful was so divine I had to resort to a spoon in the end so I could eat every last drop of the sauce! Restaurant and bar area were packed - no spare tables left - and this was a Monday night(!) which I think gives an indication of how much this venue is appreciated. We love it here.

I have reviewed The White Swan in the past when we have stayed there and eaten in the restaurant but this time, due to having a beloved doggo with us we dined outside in the Garden Bar. We just love this place, Booking was quick and easy. Lovely friendly lad helped us put the umbrellas up outside as there were a few spots of rain. Food was amazing as always, the roast chicken was gorgeous, hot toddies, wines and a few beers and gosh we were happy. Beautiful setting for a winter meal and we even saw snow when we left! Can't wait till the next time.

Attended the Snow Supper as part of the Festival of Christmas in Greytown. Loved it. The food was delicious, gorgeous in presentation. Service was friendly and super helpful. I loved the thought they had put into the Snow Supper experience, we sat outside under the snow, they had cozy blankets to keep warm, the mulled gin was a hit for me. Definitely recommend.

On a cold Tuesday mid afternoon, you’d expect that the service would be much better than it was. With only three other tables, our hot chocolates were only lukewarm and the waiter forgot to tell the kitchen our food order. Maybe he was too busy watching the football, like the bartender. Many better options available…. Step up. I expected more.
