A fabulous stay at the Sofitel. Leo was very helpful at check-in to organise an upgrade for us. Rose was a little overwhelmed by the lovely card and beautiful treat waiting for her in the room. Dinner service was excellent thanks to Hawi and Felix for looking after us. And Wayde for mixing a lovely Espresso Martini. See you all again.

I had a great stay at the Sofitel Wellington. It’s a lovely, quiet hotel with a fantastic and attentive team who made the stay feel genuinely welcoming. The standout for me was definitely the food, particularly breakfast. There was such a great variety of options available, including a few things you don’t normally see on a hotel breakfast buffet. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a cruller at breakfast before. The hotel was clean and well presented throughout. The only minor things I’d mention is that the hand lotion in my bathroom was empty for the three nights I was there. The wifi did have a few drop zones including in the restaurant, but was otherwise an excellent stay. I’d happily stay again and would definitely recommend the Sofitel Wellington.
My Husband and I stayed at the Sofitel for 4 nights while visiting Wellington NZ. We booked the Executive Suite which included Breakfast and the Club Lounge. We got an Uber from the Airport to the Hotel which only took 25 minutes including traffic. The Uber had to pull up and let us our on the street which was very hilly in front of the Hotel, as the drop off point at the Hotel is not easy to manage by vehicles, my luggage nearly rolled down the street trying to get our other luggage out of the Uber. Staff inside were very pleasant and welcoming, had a quick check in which is also good. Our room was on the 8th floor, the room was very nice with lovely relaxing decor and some space to move around in. We had a King size bed that was so comfortable and great night sleep and in the bathroom was a walk in shower too, which is handy for us more senior people. We had a front and side window to let light in our room and had a view of houses one side and buildings the other, not the most spectacular view, but it was a view. The Club Lounge on the ground floor behind reception was great, they have a lovely fireplace and comfortable seating, well worth paying the extra for. In the Club Lounge they serve afternoon tea with Coffee and Tea and snacks, then from 5pm to 7pm they serve alcoholic Beverages and Canapes and a hot dish, thoroughly recommend this service, was great. Breakfast Buffet each morning was fantastic, so much to choose from like yogurts, cereals, fruits, pastries, egg station, lots of healthy choices for health conscious folk and vegans, was also bacon and sausages for others, so much more to list. The Sofitel is a reasonably short walk down to the main shopping area and down to the water and ferries on the wharf. Its approx 10 to 20 minutes by foot depending on where you are exploring. Check out was simple and fast. We would definitely recommend The Sofitel to anyone and would love to stay again. Thankyou Sofitel for making our stay a very enjoyable experience.
First the good. Top notch service from the front desk and concierge as you would expect at a Sofitel. Bed was super comfortable. Location is handy to Lambton Quay and the Terrace. My observations, and it might be different for other rooms. The position of the bath gel and shampoo in the shower was weirdly high up. It was positioned above a shelf perhaps for support, but it resulted in me raising my arms to pump the stuff out. I am 5'11 so someone shorter would have a real problem. The second suggestion is that they should consider having a nightlight in the rooms. The TV mounting tends to protrude into the walkway to the bathroom. And in the middle of the night in an unfamiliar room, one can walk into it. Otherwise. Nice hotel for a business trip.
Stayed here for 3 nights over Easter and had a great experience. Easy access to Lambton Quay where all the shops and transport are incl airport b7sses. Parliament and train station a stone throw away. The hotel is bright and friendly with beautiful views over the Botanic Garden and water glimpses. With my Accor Plus I was upgraded to a King room on the 12th floor. The room was spacious with comfortable furniture including the bed. The bathroom was large as well. Everything was clean. The TV allowed screen share but not Chromecast which is unusual as most Accor Hotels provide that. More reading for me. The hotel provides a turndown service which arrives a bit early around 5pm. Still a nice touch. There is a restaurant, a bar and a gym onsite. I only visited the bar and the staff there were great. Good cocktails and also some nice bar snacks. Definitely would come back.
