Paid for tour got there at 6:45 for a 7:30 tour they did not show and when I called they told me sorry it was just a misunderstanding. I have asked for a full return on our tickets we will see very disappointed. My son has a very rare cancer and we have been at NIH for research and he was so excited to see D.C. which he did not

Our guide was supposed to stop at 8+ places for photos. We only stopped maybe 4 times and 1 of those was because we all asked him to. Otherwise he'd just slow down and stop but not to get out just to talk. His thinly veiled political opinions were not appreciated during the tour either. The longest stop we made was a bathroom break for the driver. He needs work on the history of the Old Ebbitt Grill, as the most he said was they were looking for investors and asked if we wanted to invest. May want to rethink doing tour guide work. Also, we certainly did not appreciate his calling the DC police "aggressive" and toying with them at all!! Then they stopped him and told him he had to keep moving because he stopped in places he should not have. Money not well spent.
We had a night tour scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and arrived on time, as instructed. After waiting 30 minutes for the other participants, we decided to leave because we had only one additional day available to take the tour. Given that the tour itself was expected to last approximately three hours, the delay would have extended the experience until 11:00 p.m. or later. We were very disappointed with how this situation was handled. We fulfilled our responsibility by arriving on time and reasonably expected the tour to begin as scheduled. Waiting for 30 minutes without clear communication about when the tour would start was frustrating and significantly disrupted our plans. We ask that the company review how delays and late arrivals are managed and provide clearer communication to guests in similar situations. We hope appropriate steps will be taken to prevent this from happening to future customers.
We highly recommend the Washington DC night tour with James the tour guide and Kris the bus driver. We were first timers in DC and thought the tour was a great start to our trip. We stopped at many sites and drove by many others. Our tour guide James was very informative about the sites and history of DC. It was great seeing a night view of the city!
Ali Zohery/this tour didn’t show up & at pickup spot (Hyatt) as booked for 9/29 tour. When I called him 15 mins after7:30 pm pickup time, call went to VM. He called me 10 mins later, saying mix-up with tour guide (but he told me he was doing it himself when I booked directly with him!) & offered next day tour. This was our last day in DC, so next day would be impossible. Also, too late to arrange for another tour, as he never called me & simply left us waiting at pickup location. I learned 2 things: - never book important event on last day of trip and - don’t book with Zohery Tours!
It was hard to see. Did not expect a van. Would have been nice if tour guide got out of the car and gave information rather than just saying go see snd be back in, 15 or 20 mins.
Frank was very informative and hit all the best sites. Great time for memorable photos. Highly recommend this tour !
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They contacted me 10 minutes before the tour to see if I could change my tour to the following night, to which I responded no. The tour guy never showed up or contacted any of the 7 guests who waited for the tour for over 45 minutes. They sent several vague confusing texts as to what was going on and did not respond to the other guests who were texting and calling. A gentleman finally answered when I called and he let me know that he did not have a driver for our tour. I received a refund from the company but nothing to compensate for the vacation time that was lost waiting on a tour that did not exist. I recommend you use another company.
Frank needs a headset/microphone. It was very difficult to hear him over the talking going on with other passengers on the bus.
It was pretty much just driving around because of all the road closures it was hard to get to the monuments. The driver was very knowledgeable and friendly although he talked really fast so I didn't hear everything. When I got lost coming back from the Lincoln Memorial he was not very helpful, just told me to follow the map he sent me. Finally 2 of the other passengers came and found me. All in all I got to see the Monuments lit up which is what I wanted. I know it was very difficult this weekend.
Guide was very informative. A little hard to understand with his thick accent but he kept saying he didn't want to get political yet was very condescending toward Trump. We are here for the 250th celebration. Trump is our President. Whether you hate him or not you should respect the President. Now our guide was saying he was thinking about starting a Trump tour since he was trying to put his name on every building in DC. The tour from that point became so political my husband and I just wanted out of the tour. He discussed the ballroom addition and wanted to know why we needed it. One thing after another but yet say he didn't want to get political 🙄 oh please. We wanted a Monument trip and got the Negative Nancy trip. He was trying to make extra money onboard selling merchandise and promoting his book. We just wanted the tour we paid for. That's it. I gave 3 stars because he did have good memorization on the History of DC but he was divisive with his rhetoric. Would not recommend this trip if you support Conservative values.
The tour operator should have cancelled the tour and refunded the passengers altogether if they could not keep their small bus adequately air conditioned. I know this was very unusual for DV to experience such temps but if their bus couldn’t keep the passengers comfortable-then cancel it. There were many elderly ppl on the bus and busy the 3rd stop-only a few remained. Our tour was in tandem with another bus-which did not seem to have the AC problem.
Dr. Ali was a great guide and knew so much about the city. Hands down one of the best guides we’ve had in any city.
Absolutely the worst tour - no air conditioning in last 3 rows of vehicle, tour description states 730-1130pm - 15 minutes at each monument - we stopped twice -- cannot see out of the vehicle in middle seats -- tour ended at 945 - we only stopped at bathroom and Lincoln /MLK -- there were pull offs and other buses/tours stopping - but not us -- completely utter disappointment
Between the Mt Vernon and the night tour the operators drop you off back at the same hotel for approximately 1.5 hours. To be continued in a crowded van for 2 hours instead of the 3-4 hours as advertised. We felt it was expensive considering the few hours actually spent on the tour.
Bobby was very knowledgeable about the history and had the best sense of humor! I definitely recommend this tour!
The vehicle was warm. A/c wasn’t cooling it down. On the night tour, we had to sprint to the exhibits because we only had 15 minutes. We weren’t able to get out at the Jefferson memorial and other exhibits.
The tour guys were fine, but the tour company should have cancelled the night tour. I know they can’t control the weather, but they knew it was going to rain and nothing was lit up. So visibility was extremely poor. Barely nothing to see. Plus, if you want to go to Mt. Vernon, you don’t get there til 3:00, and they close at 4:00. So we just made the last tour at 3:05. Only had time to see the mansion. The entire experience was very expensive and very disappointing. Not worth it.
This tour was a mixed bag, so I will review in two sections: Part one: Day trip to Mount Vernon This was a nice tour with a tour guide that actually cared about history and was very interested in teaching the tour group about the landmarks, monuments, and history of the area. We learned interesting things about Alexandria as well as the surrounding landscape and area. The only complaint is that the van needs some serious TLC. There were seatbelt issues and it felt like the shocks were completely worn. The brakes sounded like they were metal-on-metal, so they REALLY need to be checked. Part two: night tour of the National Mall and monuments This tour was close to a complete bust. We used the same van as the earlier tour (see the note above), but the biggest problem, by far, was that it was obvious that the tour guide didn't want to be doing the tour. This tour guide was a different guide than the Mount Vernon tour, so I do not want to paint them with the same brush. This guide was no more than a driver. He was rude, didn't stop at 1/2 of the monuments that are listed in the brochure, and even carried on a crude conversation with a lot of unprofessional words when he didn't realize my daughter had not left the van on one of the stops (there was a woman riding along that I presume was his wife with whom he was conversing). Out of 8 stops we only stopped at 4. All the driver would do is say, "This is the Lincoln Memorial" and let us out. No history, no stories, and no interesting information about the items on the tour. We all got the very distinct impression that we were an inconvenience and the driver was anxious to get us out of the van. I have been on a different company's night tour before and it was wonderful, with an intelligent guide who got out of the vehicle and walked around the monuments to tell us about history. We saw a separate company giving a tour at the same time and watched their guide teach the tour group. My daughter said, "can we go with them instead?" With this tour, it felt like it was a chore to slow down enough for us to get out of the vehicle! There are two companies involved: the broker (TripAdvisor/Viator) and the actual tour (Zohery Tours). We complained and gave feedback to Viator and they were courteous and investigated our statements. Viator seemed to really want to ensure that we were satisfied customers. Zohery Tours, on the other hand, basically said, "we drove you around" and said that completes the deal. Needless to say, we will never be using Zohery Tours for anything again. We *will* use Viator/TripAdvisor again, as they have always worked to ensure good service. Note: TripAdvisor/Viator refunded our money after we described our tour. They will definitely be on the list of tour brokers we would use again.
This was an excellent and thorough tour, entertaining, informative, comfortable, worth the time and money. Have recommended it to others and would do it again.
The driver took us to all of the cities highlights, he shared lots of information. The van was clean and cool on a hot day. The driver went out of his way to make sure we all got safely where we needed to be.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. The guide claimed he couldn’t find my reservation because I booked through a third party (Viator) and refused to let me and my mom on the bus. Meanwhile, another family of 4 also had issues with their reservation, but he let them on anyway. Make it make sense. 0/5. The bus was tiny anyway. You’re way better off booking ahead with a trolley or an Old Town car—literally anything but this.
We never got to see any of the monuments due to road closures. The tour compiles about the closures and that we will not be able to see any of the important monuments and still continued with the tour. Why was the tour not canceled or why were not notified of this and given an option to cancel. Worst experience ever and family who visited form India missed out on the opportunity of night tour. If we had know this, we would have walked by ourselves instead of booking the tour
A bit stressful, driver was late. We had to call the company to ensure there was a planned tour for pick-up. Started late and finished by 10pm. So be cautious when comparing tours, while it claims 3-4 hours, it was not longer than 2.5hrs. Each stop the driver gave times that were shorter than listed on website. Overall, quick and easy. Driver narrated and provided background, knowledgeable and friendly just felt rushed. Also, many sites were restricted due to upcoming security for parades.
Our tour guide was terrific! So informed and flexible and respectful of our group. Made the trip enjoyable and educational!
It was fun! A good way to see the city at the beginning of our trip. Sometimes it was hard to see things because it was dark. But it was a good experience!
Our guide was very knowledgeable & didn’t miss a thing. The rain made it a little difficult but he stopped & we were able to get pictures
Mount Vernon is a great experience and DC by night is something everyone should experience .Lovely time altogether.
I was not happy at all with the tour. In the description it was said it would last between 3-4 hours - in confirmation only 3 - in fact it took only 2,5 3 minutes before the agreed time there was nobody. I had to ask around. The Guide Charles did not even get out of the bus. We were rushed all the time. Possible interresting stops were not made. Many explanation referred to something in the dark, like the Pentagon. All in all very disappointing and defintely not worth the money.
Excellent tour with Tyron and Ali! Super fun and also informative!! Worth the cost! Tour guide was so engaging and driver also helpful!
Mr. Co was excellent and curtious. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Washington DC.. He stopped at many ideal landmarks and monuments. He was mindful about showing beautiful panoramic views of popular sites in order to take pictures. I strongly recommend him for a memorable experience. .
Awesome Host. Very nice and knowledgeable. We had a great time Arrived on Time. We had plenty of of time at stops to get out and take pictures. Learned so much about The White House and many other historical locations. 👍
Worth it especially being at night time… definitely less crowd and surprisingly you can still get good photos. Driver/tour guide was very knowledgeable
James, the tour guide, was very knowledgeable and safety conscious. We were amazed by how many facts he knew and his efficient way of getting to each point of interest. We stopped and saw most of the monuments. We didn't stop at the Jefferson memorial but did see it from the bus. Kris, the driver was careful and strategic, getting us around the city dodging the rain showers. Only wish we had more time to soak it all in.
Simon the tour guide was very unpleasant and it felt like we were burden to him. The monuments of course were beautiful
Trip is a bit long and many spots were not accessible due to construction of bike lanes and traffic from other tours.
Love it and Simon was great, will bring family to this tour. Washington DC is beautiful at night love it so much.
Our driver was very informative and allowed us to get great pictures of the monuments. He let us know when to return and also slipped in an additional stop to take pictures at the Jefferson Memorial.
The tour guide (Bobby) was very knowledgeable and he made the tour fun and interesting. He wanted to ensure the group was educated and had fun.
Great experience, the tour guide very knowledgeable and entertaining, Gave us detailed of things to do in the city . We all had a great time.
We were expecting a bus to pick us up, instead it was a small black dirty van with the lettering coming off. Our tour guide was funny at times, however, the jokes he told was very inappropriate. He’s language was not professional. He was very knowledgeable about the monuments. Overall very unprofessional.
The driver/guide was accommodating, lighthearted and friendly. I enjoyed the sites we visited. Although we did a tour earlier in the day this tour took us closer to the White House and Capital and offered different views of the sites that we hadn’t seen earlier. We also started and ended on time which I appreciated as we had dinner reservations later in the evening.
Exceptional! I was with my two aunts, for one of them, this was her first trip to Washington, she was fascinated with this night tour in particular. She mentioned the amount of historical details provided during this your were even more insightful
A great overview of the federal buildings, both used for business and monuments, of the Washington DC area
The Monuments are amazing after dark on a clear night. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. I’m looking forward to going back when other friends visit.
Not a great tour. We drove past monuments and didn’t see many more. It was raining but we all came prepared to get wet. Simon was not a very friendly driver and didn’t appear to enjoy his job much. Do another tour if you really want to see and enjoy the monuments after dark.
The DC tour was well done and very enjoyable. We saw a lot of attractions and the tour guide was pleasant and knew how to navigate the traffic.
Excellent tour! Our guide was hospitable, informative, and witty! I truly enjoyed this experience and recommend that you go when in Washington!
I do not recommend. Positive: we passed by/stopped at all the monuments. Driver new his scripted basic information for being on the job less than a month. The locations really do look nice at night with the lighting, even though some of the water fountains are turned off in the winter season. When I called to confirm the location, there was someone who answered and even called me back to confirm who I was looking for. Negative: 4 out of 6 people got off the bus after the first stop. Bus was unkept and driver had a bit of road rage. Unorthodox stops throughout entire tour. No bathroom break. He wanted to make a drive by stop at a high end restaurant (unplanned). This should have been mentioned at pick up. The onboarding stop was not marked nor displayed any sign of this being a meet-up location (other buses have a permitted location.) When we got on the bus, it was up to us to open and close the door when we hop in and hop out (which we left open almost all the time because its hard to do). Overall, unprofessional. Save your money.
The information provided by the tour guide was information I never learned on my previous visits to D.C. Appreciated the front curb service and the focus on making sure we were able to see all the sights and get great pictures. Never felt rushed when we stopped at each monument. I'm definitely recommending to my friends and family.
