Great experience, driver was fun and knowledgeable. Very happy for the check in booth at the train station - we needed help with activation after the initial tour was cancelled due to a marathon. Very helpful young lady took care of us. after that, you get a sticker, no need to worry about tickets or barcodes to keep showing when you board again (compared to the big hop on and off busses). Zero hassle. Highly recommend.

Reviews
I took advice from other Trip Adviser reviews that said to run the entire route then choose where to get off. It's basically a bus ticket for the day. It has the stops plan your day before hand.
This tour was great to get an idea of what to see, we rode the trip around one time to see what we wanted to go back and see.
Had a great time on this tour bus.
Trolly was a great experience. We saw many of the famous sites and had great experience with our driver Meg.
It’s an all day fun activity. The tour guides are all amazing. It truly hits all the spots that you would want to see in DC.
Well organized circuit. Never a problem finding a trolley at the next stop. We enjoyed the tour very much and made the most of the stops to get off and on.
Engaging and Enjoyable. Best way to get around DC
It was great. Only wished they had driven slower as we were trying to plan our on/off and couldn't catch much unless you got off. You definitely need 4+ hours to enjoy the sites.
Very friendly and extremely helpful with my wheelchair. Drivers were informative about the history of the area. Had a great time
The add on for Arlington cemetery was good but the last bus that showed pick up at Lincoln Memorial was at 445pm and we were there waiting and it never stopped. Drove on past the stop. We were there until 500pm to make sure another wasn’t coming. We had to pay for a ride.
EJ was well a great entertainer and provided us with a lot of great information about the history of DC and the structures. Very kind and helpful!
The tour guides are so knowledgeable and so polite. They accommodated everyone!!
Very interesting excursion. But it was very difficult to find the first trolley stop
Definitely the way to see the monuments! Spend as much or as little time as you like on each one. Well worth it.
App doesnt let you access tickets - have emailed and asked for the tickets to be sent to us. Its terrible if it doesnt work for some reason. And I still dont know why it doesnt work, because no one will answer emails, texts, or messages in the app. M
Waited too long for buses and than when they came people didn’t get off. My daughter has special needs so we couldn’t walk to the next spot. We also never saw the White House.
Great tour, but the delay picking me up from Arlington Cemtery caused me to miss the Amtrak back to Baltimore. Also, the lady for the Arlington shuttle told us that our fare included the tram to see Arlington cemetery. It does not.
We typically don’t do tours but this was the perfect blend of a guided tour but allowed for the freedom to do things at your own pace which we liked.
We were accepted on a Hop On Hop Off bus that was not the trolley even thought we showed the driver our tickets. We were dropped off at the Thomas Jefferson Museaum and were Totally lost from there. We connected with the Arlington Trolley Bus and were able to get straightened out after that. Very confusing!!
All drivers were very knowledgeable. Great to be able to hop off and back on at different locations.
It was a great way to experience D.C. and everything there is to see. We took the optional Arlington National Cemetary tour and stayed on until we got to the Lincoln Center. Once we saw everything there, we took the other trolley to the cemetery. Once through there, we took the trolley back to Lincoln Center and picked up the next trolley to complete the 15 stops of the day. Bertie was the best narrator by far! Others were okay but difficult to hear and understand. Since it is an open-air trolley, with the traffic it can make it difficult to hear. Today, we will go back into town and do the Smithsonian museums.
We are a fan of hop on hop off trolleys every where we go. Luckily we were able to change the date of our tickets within the 24 hour time period. Very accommodating! All of the drivers are very knowledgeable. They each focus on different points of interest.
not very informative. No foreign language headsets. Better in other countries but not our national capitol.
Paid extra for Arlington cemetery but didn’t get to go. Was told I was supposed to get another trolley. Very disappointed
The windowless trolley provided a cool breeze and perfect opportunities to take photos! We visited every popular destination in Washington, DC and the ability to hop on / hop off made it possible to spend time at each site without the worry of getting lost. We had the pleasure of catching Birdy’s trolley twice on our day and she provided excellent commentary both times.
It was really raining badly and many roads were closed off. It was pretty good even though the rain tried to spoil it.
We had a great experience with the Old Town Trolley in Washington, D.C.! It was such a convenient and enjoyable way to see the city, especially with the ability to hop on and off at the different stops. A special shout-out to Bridie, who was absolutely wonderful! She was friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and made the tour so much more enjoyable. She shared great information about Washington, D.C., while keeping everyone engaged and having fun along the way. Thank you, Bridie, for making our trolley experience one of the highlights of our trip! We would definitely recommend the Old Town Trolley to anyone visiting D.C.
We had to cancel due to everything being blocked off. The transaction was very smooth and quick. We appreciated the quick response
Great day. All drivers were very knowledgeable about historical people and events, helpful and also funny!
Pleasant tour that was made entertaining by the driver / tour guide. Enjoyed the historical factoids.
Met at Union Station. It was easy to find. The driver was funny and commented about the crazy cyclist. The drivers directed us to other places in the area of each stop. Not crowded in late September.
Start early in order to be able to make all the stops especially if you have only one day for the tour.
This is an excellent way to see the highlights of DC! The driver's are fun, nice and informative. As a former Northern Virginian I would recommend this tour as an efficient way to visit our nation's capital.
The drivers were excellent….friendly + informative. Great way to see the sights.
this is a wonderful all-around experience of seeing many special sites in Washington Washington DC. It really helps to get an opportunity to see what I want to see and plan accordingly.
Enjoyable and reliable. Very knowledgeable guides who bring history to life. Barbara was an excellent guide.
We were under the impression that we would be dropped off and picked up at the monuments that is not the case. Some of them were several blocks from the monuments and involved a lot of walking. The trolleys seats were very small and if you’re a long legged person, it was not a good idea because your knees were crammed into the backseat. The drivers were great and were very informative. I would never suggest the trolleys to any of my friends. Definitely overpriced. Not for elderly or if you have problems walking
We liked the idea of this, our only problem was if you didn’t get on and off at the same location you really didn’t know where the pickup spot was because nothing was marked.
The trolley was open, no A/C. The driver was professional, kind, helpful and informative. Easy to get on and off. Seats are more like benches, a bit small for 2 people. Thoroughly enjoyed the sights which included Arlington National Cemetery.
It was a beautiful day of seeing Washington DC. We wonderful and knowledgeable guides that shared history and fun facts.
Great tour of Washington DC. Drivers are great and very knowledgeable of the area and sites. Definitely worth it for our first time in the city.
This is a great way to see several monuments and get oriented to the mall area. The drivers were very knowledgeable and gave tidbits about DC that only the locals know as well -- Also I recommend hopping off in the Wharf area where there are several nice restaurants .
They had bike rider thing through DC and the service was extremely limited with the time. I was not told in advance about this. They should have had it somewhere on their website this was happening. I would have.made other arrangements
We enjoyed ourselves. We went on a night tour but wanted to come back during the day to some of the same places.
The first bus driver Rooster was great. A lot of great info and easy to understand. Next two were OK but wandered a little bit and didn't speak clearly. Over all i would recommend.
Great loop with a great app as well. We would do it again
Too much long waiting for the bus very poor bus tour frequency very bad experience and very honorable experience they say 10 min waiting but it's not 10 min it's 1 hour waiting for one to another bus
Great staff, very busy on and off tour, very informative, wish there were more trollies running the weekend we visited.
The driver we had was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Also, importantly we could hear the audio very clearly. Highly recommend this tour above other similar tours
