Our guide was Rebecca, she was so kind and accommodating, first time in DC we were a few minutes late and she was able to patiently adjust, we ended up having a solo tour of the Natural History Museum and then met back up for Air and Space. She deftly navigated both of these mammoths at a good pace with genuinely interesting information and humor! She constantly checked in if we needed a break we were able to sit a moment. Could’ve used a few more just since we’re not native to DC and have walked about 20 miles since arriving a few days ago. Us Missouri folk aren’t used to that as much! Regardless, I feel like we saw the bulk of what we needed to, got a lot of education out of it, and idk about anyone else, I thought she was adorable. Hubs said he really liked her too! She’s a great guide. Just really well presented!

Itinerary
This is your chance to experience the two most popular museums in Washington DC with the help of our expert guides navigating the crowds! Start your day with the largest Natural History collection in the world. Stones, bones, and bugs clamor for your attention at the Smithsonian Natural History museum as the largest taxidermied elephant in the world trumpets your welcome (his name is Henry!). From the most famous single artifact in the Smithsonian collection — the (supposedly) cursed Hope Diamond — to the recently revealed renovated Fossil Hall with Mastodon, T-Rex, and Diplodocus looming over the path, your inner child will remind you of how fascinating the natural world’s mysteries are.
After a break to recharge, cross the famous National Mall to the Smithsonian Air & Space museum. Currently undergoing its own renovation, there is still plenty to see! Starting with a family in Ohio solving a problem not even Leonardo DaVinci could. We speak, of course, of the Wright Brothers who launched the world to literal new heights. The original Wright Flyer from 1903 gets its own exhibition gallery to set the stage for what comes after. From the first military flyer in 1909 (also a Wright Bros. creation) to the golden age of setting records and commercial aviation, imagine the guts it took to trust your life to this novel technology. Then head to the even more intimidating exploits in the space exhibits. Where you view some of the actual artifacts man set out to conquer the vast unknown in an inhospitable environment and then back to Earth’s warm embrace. But the highest heights are those of imagination that inspire us to the risk so much.

Amanda was an excellent tour guide. She was very knowledgeable and answered everyone’s questions. She has a very pleasant personality. I would certainly recommend Amanda and the tour of the Aerospace Museum to any of my good friends.
Great day with Lynn! Very knowledgeable and fun to be with.
Maureen was easy to be with. She was extremely informative , knowledgeable & fun. We really enjoyed her
Maureen was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and we both really loved it
Ryan is a great tour guide - he brought the museum pieces to life with “the rest of the story” behind several important pieces of aviation and space history
It was basic and ok for over views or for children. The museum are not to big to tackle on your own quickly. Will do at our own speed next time
Are guide Rachel was wonderful. Answered sons 100 questions with great patience. Made very interactive for kids.
I went on this tour while my husband attended a conference. Ryan did an amazing job navigating our group through the various and numerous exhibits. He was extremely knowledgeable about both museums and made the tour fun & interesting. He gave us ample breaks and perfectly balanced his talking segments with time to wander on our own. The Museum of Natural History was one of my favorite venues likely because it focused on animals (past & present). I would revisit that museum in a heartbeat and highly recommend it. The Air & Space Museum was very good and will surely please all the aviation & sci fi admirers out there. To summarize, a semi-private tour is the best way to see both museums in a relatively short amount of time and Ryan was an awesome guide.
Excellent tour. Air & Space Museum, was our favourite, 10/10. Our guide Christopher was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend Babylon Tours, added bonus was being sent photo of our guide beforehand so we knew who we were looking for when we arrived, loved this, saved us wondering up to random people to try to find our guide.
Meghan did an amazing job keeping the tour exciting and insightful. We had originally planned on canceling our tour due to getting into DC late because of bad weather and I'm so glad we didn't. We felt like VIP's throughout the tour. There are so many things to see and she made sure that we saw all of the most interesting things, especially those that benefit from having a tour guide. If you do plan on going to any of the museums, request Meghan and you won't regret it.
Paul was amazing. Fantastic anecdotes and insider insights. Desire the museum being under construction we had a brilliant experience and
Yes, we paid a guide to take us through a free museum. SO WORTH IT!!! With limited time and sore feet, we wanted to maximize our visit without missing things. Brenda was well-prepared and super flexible, creating a tour plan to satisfy our small group. Her anecdotes about the displays really brought them to life. She was equally knowledgeable about Natural and Aeronautical history. So glad we chose this tour!
Rebecca was a fantastic guide. We covered so much in a short amount of time. Interesting facts along the way also.
Christopher was a great guide and was very knowledgable! We did 2 tours back to back ... Natural History and Aerospace Museum. I would recommend one of these tours per day... after the tour you could meander around and see many, many other things that you didn't get focus on during the tour.
The tour guide— Rebecca— made all the difference. She was fantastic!! Wonderful knowledge, storytelling, sense of humor and subject matter expertise— cannot recommend her enough.
Maureen was awesome. She was so knowledgeable and answered all our questions. We couldn’t see everything but the things she chose gave us a flavor for the museums. A great quick overview in the time I had for a visit. Thanks!
The museum was amazing and our guide was very informative and had stories to share. So many exhibits were under construction at this time.
The experience was amazing! the guide was great! She explained the displays in a way that made them understandable and memorable. It was awe inspiring to see the natural wonders of the world and the historic events of this country! we could spend several more days there!
Great tour & tour guide. Recommend this tour if you have kids. This tour hits all the major parts of the museums
Amanda was AMAZING!! Her knowledge of the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum was mind boggling. She was not only knowledgeable about what is currently being displayed but what the remodel consists of. She also keeps up with current events and integrated that knowledge into the tour, very impressive!! Highly recommend this tour!
Maureen was the best tour guide!! Very knowledgeable and very good at her job. My 11 year old daughter loved these tours. Definitely worth it.
Tim was a great guide with a wonderful sense of humor. He was very knowledgeable and really seemed to enjoy his job.
Meghan was exceptional - made our trip to DC amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable, a great sense of humor and a spectacular story teller of history.
We learned so much having Rebecca as our guide to the Smithsonian Natural History & Air & Space Museums! She shared a tremendous amount of detail, statistics, and fun stories about various exhibits, which made the experience so much more enjoyable. She was professional, funny, kind, and caring with our family. Couldn’t have got a better tour guide — thanks so much, Rebecca!!
Maureen is the best hostess for the tour ever. The exhibits are spectacular and she brought so much to life with her background and color.
Amanda made our tour- great insights & guidance So glad to have guided tour Lots of school groups-she got us around & on our way
The guide was wonderful. She made sure we got to see so many important things! It was worth the cost because we only had one day, and I was concerned about missing things. She was very much engaged with the 12 year old and made it all so interesting . At the Air and Space Museum, it was afternoon and crowded ( not her fault), and she still made sure we had a great experience.
I’m sure that this tour is too highly priced for some, and I understand that. But I knew we had only one day to see these two museums, and I did not want to mis-appropriate my time and miss some high points. Rebecca was so great! She very much engaged the 12 year old. She started by asking her about what things she had heard about and what she wanted to see. She made sure to allow plenty of time for those things and really showed us so many big things that we might have missed. She knew LOTS of back stories and inside information that kept us listening. I really felt that she made it money well spent.
Tim was great! He knew his material and was open to questions. He was very patient with us and we enjoyed spending the day with him. Would definitely recommend him.
We had Brenda as our guide, she was knowledgeable, friendly and funny. We wouldn’t have gotten nearly as much out of the experience had we not been able to hear her insight, and we loved the pictures she showed us as additional references to her historical facts. 100+ recommend!
The space museum. To see the outfit Neal Armstrong wore and the capsule that they came back in plus te explanation of how different arts broke of was great! Plus Mr Spock and is ears!
Very insightful tour, Rebecca was awesome! Made our trip and experience a lot better as we loved hearing the extra stories and history behind some of the exhibits!
Richard was amazing. The best way to see both museums. Museums can be overwhelming on your own. Hit all of the highlights.
I rarely leave a review... unless the tour is awesome.. and Richard made this tour AWESOME. Kept my 9 year old nephews attention, had great stories, and was just a nice guy! 10/10 would recommend.
Excellent guide, new all the facts and made it fun. The museum is being renovated so only about half is open but still plenty to see.
We took a small group tour with Rebecca. She did a great job of leading us through the museum and was extremely knowledgeable and engaging. I would highly recommend this tour!
My tour guide, Richard, was very knowledgeable and made the experience great. You can tell he has a passion for aerospace. Excellent tour.
Our tour guide Richard was knowledgeable and friendly. He kept the tour moving at a good pace, and brought his own unique personal experiences to add to the information. But the best thing was getting in when the busy museum otherwise had no passes available, and moving to the front of the line!
Richard was awesome. Above and beyond all expectations. Do yourself a favor ask ask for him by name. He was knowledgeable not only about the museum we were at but all of Washington. My wife and I enjoyed his tour as well as our 13 year old daughter.
Amanda was great! Very knowledgeable. I would say you need to be clearer about the tickets so people know to expect them at the museum and that the email confirmation isn’t the ticket.
Christopher was a fantastic guide, very knowledgeable and personable and really got everyone involved.
This was a really great tour! Christopher was very knowledgeable and fun. We very much enjoyed the tour!
Great tour. Richard was very knowledgeable and attentive to our questions and adjusted the tour to fit the requests of my granddaughters. Wish we had more time to spend there!
Maureen was an excellent tour guide. She organized and led the group efficiently through the crowded museum. Her knowledge of the history of the various air and spacecraft was deep. She was very engaging with the entire group and provided many interesting stories about the various exhibits we visited.
Rebecca was amazing!! My granddaughter learned so much! My fav was the space section. My granddaughter really like the speed section, especially Erin Sills.
Richard T Robinson III was our guide and he was great. He sent a text earlier in the day to share what his outfit would look like. This is especially helpful as we had a separate tour and had to spend the first few minutes trying to figure out where the person was and what they looked like. He was also specific on the meeting point (right next to a recognizable art object outside the museum). He was early and so were we... Timing worked out perfectly and we got started right away. Richard most signifcantly had a passion for the topics he talked about. I know he would be great for any of the museum tours as he had so much background knowledge. But he grew up in a family that was involved in space travel and thus had a real passion and background knowledge on so many topics for the air and space museum. You could see how he lit up as he spoke about various historical data points and was also able to intertwine with personal memories that were relatable to all. He also used his connections to help get us in to the National Archives well after our tour had ended just as a nice gesture. He was overly helpful and my family really enjoyed his demeanor and kindness. I would highly recommend him to anyone and frankly if you can ask for Richard specifically for any museum tour in DC you will get the best.
We had a great experience! Our guide Richard was amazing. He knew all the best spots, has great knowledge and was very friendly and engaging. Highly recommend !
Our guide Richard was extremely knowledgeable of both museums and a joy to spend our day with. He was also excellent when interacting with my 10 year old granddaughter! My entire family would recommend him as a guide to anyone.
Wonderful tour Our guide Christopher was amazing. We had a great time and real learning experience. Highly recommend to all.
