Amanda was fantastic! So knowledgeable and personable. Our family group ranged from age 15 to 80 and everyone had a great tour. Thanks Amanda!

Itinerary
Your guide will take you to visit the highlights of the collection, housed in a massive building that covers the area of 18 football fields. Gaze into the world-famous Hope Diamond, whose brilliant blue sparkle, and immodest size at 46 karats, captured the attention of former owner Marie Antoinette. Wander through the displays of gems and minerals, including the Dom Pedro Aquamarine, the world’s largest gem of its type, which glows brilliantly from within. Travel back in time to learn about death rituals while exploring real mummies from Ancient Egypt. Then step out of the past into the wild, exploring the mighty polar bears, elephants, and giraffes that roam across earth’s surface. From the land, jump into the sea at the Ocean Hall, where you’ll discover a live coral reef exhibit as well as a 45-ton whale, Phoenix, which is a replica of a real living what that the museum tracks. By the end, you’ll understand why so many people come to visit the 126.5 million artefacts housed at the National Museum of Natural History.

Ryan is an excellent tour guide. Knowledgeable, friendly, funny, professional. Highest of recommendations.
Debra S. was excellent. She was extremely knowledgeable & moved the tour along nicely, seeing a lot of the exhibits. She was very professional & made the tour a “must see”. She was fantastic.
My family of four (two parents and 2 kids, ages 9 and 11) took a tour of the Natural History Museum with KATE (Katherine). We booked the “small group tour”, so we expected others the be on the tour with us, but it ended up just being us, which was a pleasant surprise. Kate walked us through the museum in about 2.5 hours. There is SO much in this museum, so it really helped to have her steer us around the the highlights. Her knowledge of the exhibits was incredible. There was no question she could not answer! Highly recommend!
This was a wonderful tour, and Rebecca was a fantastic guide. The time flew by! She showed us around the huge museum and learned a great deal.
Leigh was an amazingly knowledgeable tour guide. The small group tour was great, but Leigh’s knowledge base and sense of humor made this truly special.
We went on the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History with Brenda. Brenda was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic! She reached out to us prior to the tour which made meet up on the day of the tour seamless. Brenda asked a lot about our interests and incorporated them where she could. Our teenage daughter instantly felt comfortable with Brenda’s warm personality, which isn’t typical. It was our favorite tour of our DC trip. I would highly recommend taking this tour with Brenda!
Rebecca was a very pleasant and knowledgeable tour guide. She guided us through the Natural History museum efficiently and with interesting back stories about the exhibits.
Great experience! Thank you so much Rebecca!
I really enjoyed this tour, and my time with Kate. She is very friendly, engaging, and offered a lot of information, including some fun facts. She is very knowledgeable, and I appreciate the fact that she really enjoys her position as a tour guide. Thank you, Kate!
She knowledgeable and very nice and she knows what she is talking about
Our guide was truly awesome. She gave us an exciting and educational tour, diamonds to dinosaurs. Highly recommend !! DrTom
This is an excellent way to see the Smithlsonian Natural History Museum. Amanda brought us to the highlights and was able to provide excellent explanations regarding what we were seeing. I recommend the Cafe for lunch rather than the larger cafeteria due to the long line at the latter.
Brenda our tour guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and was extremely supportive and entertaining to our young kids.
Brenda was an amazing tour guide. great energy and wealth of knowledge and so passionate about what she does. made it an incredible experience. ask for brenda if you can.
This was our first time in the US and Washington DC , Kate , our tour guide was amazing, very informative and we learnt so much
Leigh was fabulous. So knowledgeable. Very articulate and intelligent and entertaining. Many thanks .
Anne-Marie was our tour guide and she was simply wonderful. We look forward to our next tour coming up later this week. See you then!
We had a tour with Rebecca of the natural history museum, and she was incredibly professional, funny and the whole time and was very knowledgeable on every single subject area in the museum.!!
Amanda was awesome! Very informative! Kept us moving at a comfortable clip. Definitely recommend the guided tour. The small group was perfect!
Amazing- Christopher was funny and so informative - definitely info that you can’t get on your own- felt very lucky to be on this tour
Our guide Maureen was AMAZING! We had her for both of our tours today Natural History and American History and we couldn't have made it through without her! She hit all the best spots in both places and was SO knowledgeable!
Ryan was super informative on our tour. A lot of specific details! Knowledgeable about fossils, gems, etc. it was the highlight of our trip. Very patient in waiting fir us
Ryan was spectacular. Highly recommend. I would absolutely do this tour again. Very informative. A++++++++++++++++
Rebecca did a fabulous job of walking us through the Natural History Museum. You could wander the place for days to see and absorb everything there, so it was awesome to have someone to hit all the highlights. She was extremely knowledgeable on the artifacts and made the tour of the NHM efficient and enjoyable. Without her there would have been far less context on many of the exhibits. I recommend this tour and Rebecca 100%.
We were able to get right in front of displays and take great photos. Our guide was very informative and knowledgable. Glad we did the private tour especially since we were timed limited and wanted to see the standout displays of the museum.
Rebecca was great, informative, funny and well versed. I learned a lot and saw a lot during the tour, it was way better than just wandering around.
Great museum and our guide Leigh was wonderful. We spent 2.5 hours on small group tour and was the way to go for sure. Highly recommended
Lovely way to see the highlights of our natural history, and Ryan was knowledgeable and friendly. The tour was organized well. I loved the gems..
Our tour guide Leigh was wonderful! She was knowledgable, told interesting stories and kept us enthralled for the whole time. She even kept our 10 year old sometimes rambunctious grandson engaged. It was well worth the money even though we had been to the museum several times before. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone.
Meghan was The most amazing docent we could’ve asked for. She combined a sense of humor and encyclopedic knowledge of the Museum of Natural History with amazing details. We highly recommend her.
Leigh was a great story teller and led our group with ease and efficiency during the incredibly busy Cherry Blossom weekend. A fabulous tour that I would highly recommend!
Great intro to some of the main exhibition halls of the museum. Our guide Donna was very knowledgeable and engaging, I definitely learned something new from the that experience.
This was a wonderful way to see the museum of natural history. Brenda was knowledgeable and moved at the perfect pace. I’d book another tour with her.
Brenda was perfectly balanced between providing interesting facts and commentary without being overwhelming. She managed to keep everyone engaged despite various ages and intrests. The tour was well paced for kids and adults and did not feel rushed or tedious. It was our favorite tour in D.C. Highly recommend!
Amanda pitched the tour at exactly the right level for our daughters aged 11 and 14. To be honest, I’ve always been a bit bored at Natural History museums and was taking my children for their benefit, but for the first time found the dinosaurs section absolutely fascinating, thanks to Amanda. She managed to guide us through the highlights of the museum despite being inundated with school excursions and we definitely got a lot more out of it than if we had been going around ourselves.
We had young kids and keeping them amused was a little difficult. But our guide tailored the tour to our needs and addressed them so well. The semi-private tour was as good as private since we were 5 people. 2 hours doesn’t really do justice to this amazing museum, so our guide was selective. He knew answers to our questions and was very patient, which is what we needed. I personally had been there before, but love the rocks, gems and minerals displays so much, I would go back again.
Rebecca was very knowledgeable and approachable. She made sure we got a good overview of the museum while pointing out the highlights of the "bones and stones" exhibits. Glad I took the tour. Money well spent.
The Smithsonian Museum is a fantastic place to visit, this is a must to visit. It is one of the best Museum's we have seen in our life. It is just brilliant throughout the whole museum. 100%
Absolutely fantastic tour with Rebecca she was very knowledgeable. We had a great day with Rebecca who answered all our questions and showed us the highlights of the Smithsonian Museum.
Our guide for this museum tour was excellent. He was extremely knowledgeable of not only the exhibits in the museum but also the history of the Smithsonian and many of the other attractions and memorials in the DC area. Our tour ran long by a few minutes but Christopher didn’t rush us off. He was very professional.
Our semi-private guided tour by Babylon Tours to the National Museum of Natural History in Washington DC this morning became such a wonderful experience only because Brenda made our day! She is so knowledgeable about everything but most importantly knew exactly where to take us in this vast museum in the 3 hours that my wife and I spent with her. Brenda also has a great sense of humour and this made her explanations so much more enjoyable and memorable.
Brenda's knowledge of the museum was awesome! The oddities, Hope diamond, and T-Rex were major highlights, but Brenda made it all worthwhile.
Leigh was incredible. My husband and I found her extremely knowledgeable and interesting. She is a gem! Her tour is not to be missed
We opted for the guided tour and did not regret it. the guided tour with a small group allowed for attention and a personalized tour as we navigated the museums. Brenda was our tour guide and she was excellent. She truly enjoys what she does and provided a good tour of the museums versus us roaming about had we gone by ourselves.
Donna was knowledgeable, thorough and entertaining. Lots of insider information. Very happy we took the tour and highly recommend!
Maureen was exceptional ! She was very pleasant, informative and knowledgeable! I was with my 10 year old grandson and she really engaged him, ask him lots of questions and was correct in assuming he'd love dinosaurs sharks and spiders ;)
Megan led our first visit to the Museum of Natural History. She began by sharing with us her background training and education and giving us a preview of what we were about to see. We started promptly at 10 am and had an event-packed, spell-binding tour of everything the Museum had to offer. She selected the key exhibits to see, optimized our schedule to avoid retracing our steps and even left time to view a few extra exhibits. Megan was a very enthusiastic and interesting group leader whose knowledge made the tour speed by. She kept our attention without slacking for a moment whether it was the ginormous dinosaurs or the tiny precious stones (like the Hope diamond). We concluded with a history of the 6 major extinction events in earth's history. Her breadth of knowledge was amazing and her stories and renditions kept all of us glued to her throughout the 3 plus hours, even our 8 year old grandson. Thank you for a great job, Megan. Wishing you the best. Jerrold Lerman
DONNA was great! Thanks! We did have a great time. We learned a great deal together as a team. Our guide Donna did fantastic informing us of all the different animals, fossils, and minerals
We were very lucky to be the only people on the tour, so our tour guide took the time to understand what we were the most interested in, and made sure our tour took in everything we wanted to see! Our tour guide was FULL of information and really made every exhibit seem special. It lasted over three hours. My husband and I decided to go back one afternoon later to catch everything we had missed, and after a brief time, realized we had already seen everything we wanted to! Our guide just did an amazing job!
