Wander through the displays of gems and minerals, including the Dom Pedro Aquamarine, the world’s largest gem of its type, which glows brilliantly from within. Travel back in time to learn about death rituals while exploring real mummies from Ancient Egypt. Then step out of the past into the wild, exploring the mighty polar bears, elephants, and giraffes that roam across earth’s surface. From the land, jump into the sea at the Ocean Hall, where you’ll discover a live coral reef exhibit as well as a 45-ton whale, Phoenix, which is a replica of a real living what that the museum tracks. By the end, you’ll understand why so many people come to visit the 126.5 million artefacts housed at the National Museum of Natural History.
It was a great tour with Debra, she was very knowledgeable and was able to answer our many questions. The museum is huge and she was able to show us many of the highlights in the time allotted.

Our tour was through Babylon and Leigh was our guide. She was amazing! The knowledge she shared through the Smithsonian of Natural History was unbelievable. The tour took 2 hours and worth every penny!! The museum was crowded but we were able to hear everything she said.
Great way to go through the museum without being in a large group. Perfect for midsized family and friends groups and get a through tour of all the exhibits available for viewing. The guide did a great job answering questions and had pictures that enhanced the experience. The tour was about 3 hrs in length with small breaks as requested. We were very happy with our experience with 4 people.
Just wrapped up a 2 hour tour with Rebecca and she was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable and moved at the perfect pace. We got to see the highlights of the museum without wasting time wandering room to room.

The tour was well worth the cost. Meghan was an amazing story teller. I hate history but she made me interested in everything she said. I am so glad we didn’t go to the museum without a guide. We would have been overwhelmed and just read signs the whole time. I highly recommend you do this tour when you go to the natural history museum.

This place is ENORMOUS! Without Brenda we would have wandered around for hours and not really seen much of anything. BUT with her we were able to see highlights of some VERY interesting exhibits and hear stories surrounding them that made the visit most enjoyable. I can't imagine visiting here, especially for the first time, without a guide to help steer you in the right direction. We are very grateful to have Brenda share some of her wealth of knowledge. WELL WORTH the price.

This is a very nice tour with Kate. She is personable, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. It would have been difficult to maneuver the holiday crowds.

Kate gave us an incredibly enjoyable and informative tour. She combined an expansive knowledge of the exhibits and more impressively the background science relating to them. She added entertaining stories and insights making it all very memorable. We have done many excellent such guided tours but none better.

Even with portions of the Air and flight museum being closed, the amount of information can be overwhelming. Leigh, our guide, introduced herself as our “storyteller “ which was a very accurate description of our experience. There were so many small tidbits which held such significance we would have missed/overlooked. I would recommend taking the tour in the am and then plan to spend the afternoon going back through. You can get a bite to eat in their cafe.
Christopher was wonderful. I learned so much and the 2 1/2 hour tour went very quickly. I would love to repeat this tour or book him for other museums as he is a wealth of knowledge. Learned much more from him pointing out specific/special exhibits/information that I ever could’ve done on my own.
