A Fantastic Afternoon Exploring DC with Jeff! We spent a fantastic afternoon biking around Washington, D.C. with Jeff and our two kids, aged 11 and 13. Jeff immediately understood what we were looking for: a fun, active tour that would keep all four of us interested and engaged. And he really delivered! He has a great way of connecting with people, making everyone feel included in the conversation. He shared lots of interesting stories and anecdotes, asked questions, and adapted the tour to our interests as we went along. It never felt like a standard guided tour, but rather like exploring the city with someone who knows it incredibly well and genuinely enjoys sharing it with others. Jeff was also incredibly friendly, thoughtful and easygoing, with a great sense of how to keep everyone entertained, including two teenagers! We all had such a great time. It was a wonderful way to discover Washington, D.C., and one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend Jeff and DC Cycling Concierge, especially for families!

The best thing I have done in DC. Jeff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. Easy to see a lot in a relatively short amount of time while getting a little bit of exercise. Can’t recommend more! Thanks Jeff!
Jeff and DC Cycling Concierge was just simply the best! My three kids, 9,11, 14 kept saying how much fun they had and how awesome Jeff was. The tour was fun, engaging and filled with interesting history. Jeff told us so many unique things about each monument and about the city itself. Truly the best way to explore DC was on bike…. especially with DC Cycling Concierge.
Jeff gave us the best custom bike tour of DC monuments! He is an expert on family-friendly bike paths and also on each historical marker along the mall, from the Washington monument to the Lincoln memorial, he kept us safe, entertained, and inspired. He even fed us snacks! He made sure we took a route that everyone in my family could keep up with, knew where the closest bathroom breaks were at any given time, and honestly sparked a love of history in my 11 year-old son. We could not have done this on our own. He took very cool pics of us along the way too. Jeff's stories about the city are engaging from the beginning of the tour when he laid out a map of the city and showed us where were going to the end when we wished we had more time. His enthusiasm and love of history is contagious. I would love to do it again and go at nighttime to see everything lit up.
Absolutely the highlight of our trip to DC! We saw so much and learned SO much form Jeff. Our kids are 7, 10, 10 and 12 and he was excellent with all of us. Jeff checked in with me several times before the trip to get to know us and has a great plan for our family. He also brought gloves, snacks, helmets and water bottles- made it very easy. I would recommend DC Cycling Concierge to anyone!
This was our 2nd time out with Jeff. We came last year and did a family tour around the mall from the Supreme Court to the Lincoln memorial and everything in between. It was the highlight of our trip and when we decided to come back to DC this year the first thing we did was to book our tour with DC Cycling Concierge. Jeff has a wealth of knowledge and makes everything easy, enjoyable and educational. On our 2nd tour with him this year he was attentive to our desire to return to a few family favorites from last year while sprinkling in some off the beaten path historical sites. He moves at your speed and provides everything you need from helmets to gloves, mittens, jackets, water and most importantly snacks. If we return to DC next year we will without a doubt be booking a tour with Jeff. We found out about Jeff through a friend that took a family tour with him and we tell everyone we know travelling to DC about him as well!
We had such a great time on this tour! Our guide, Jeff, was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with all members of our group. We learned the history of Washington DC along with fun facts and stories along the way. The route was well planned and safe. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the city in a unique, active and engaging way.
This was the highlight of our trip to DC. Our family had the best time with Jeff touring on bikes. Jeff was personal with the recommendations of places to visit. He was kind enough to accommodate a struggling rider and provided hidden gems of sites throughout the city. I’d 200% recommend this activity for anyone- whether an individual wanting to see sites or a large group.
We had it an incredible day with Jeff And DC cycling. Jeff was so knowledgeable, organized, and safe for our group of six. The time with him just flew by. He was also kind enough to bring gloves and hats for everyone as it was a chilly day. I would highly recommend jeff and DC cycling.
Jeff was amazing! We had a special day touring all of the monuments around DC and covered a lot of ground! He was extremely knowledgeable and very kind to all of our kids! Highly recommend this experience!
Cycling with Jeff through DC was amazing! A 10 out of 10!! The tour exceeded our expectations, as all three kids (17, 14, 12) announced that this bike tour was the best part of our trip. Jeff has a wealth of knowledge about DC, and was certain to share stories you don't typically hear about in history books. Jeff was a great guide (we stopped at all the big destination spots, and he took us to some of the lesser known spots as well), photographer (he graciously took photos of our family in front of all of the stops), and host (he brought us all personal water bottles, snacks, and extra clothing to adapt to the weather). The trip was a fun way to see the city, while also sneaking in a little exercise. We highly recommend Jeff's bike tour and this experience!
Jeff was an awesome giude! Very knowledable about all of the different monuments and historical sites which made the tour fun and interesting. He went at a comfortably pace and we never felt rushed at any of the sites. I would highly recommend this tour to other families!
This tour was one of the highlights of my family's trip to DC and it was the absolute perfect way to do DC with kids. Jeff was fantastic - he engaged my kids through the whole day, made the history and context come alive. He was super flexible, handling a 6, 8 and 10 year old's questions (and need for extra breaks) like the pro he clearly is. We ended up extending our tour by almost two hours we were having such a great time. Thank you Jeff!
I booked Jeff's tour after experiencing his DC biking series on iFIT at home. We had a family of five that included children in the preteen to teenager range. Jeff met us at our place of lodging with the comfortable bikes, water bottles, and snacks. He led us to a variety of sites during the Monuments and Mall tour with accompanying historical facts and fun stories. Jeff customed the tour and asked several times for customer input as the ride was unfolding. Our family would have never covered as much ground or learned as much interesting information about Washington DC without Jeff. He went above and beyond with the extensiveness of our experience. One of my children listed this tour as the highlight of his entire DC trip. I definitely recommend Jeff as your DC Cycling Concierge!
Jeff had all our bikes ready to ride when he arrived at our hotel. There were six persons in our group, ranging in ages from 15 to 78. The ride -- about 11 miles -- was a perfect length for our group and included the Washington Monument (where Jeff took an iconic picture of us), Jefferson Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, WWII Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, along the Potomac to Georgetown, and Arlington National Cemetery. It was more than just sightseeing -- Jeff provided a most informative historical and cultural narrative -- interspersed with a sense of humor and infectious laugh -- as we cycled along. Whether as an introductory ride of D.C. or as a more in-depth view of the City by those who are already acquainted with it, I highly recommend Jeff Miller at DC Cycling Concierge as your guide.
Ella took us all around the DC mall monuments. She and Jeff were ready for us outside our hotel before 8am and we had a lovely morning beating the heat. Ella's historical knowledge and fun facts were great. Truly appreciate the local knowledge. She showed us where we would meet our next tour (behind the capital) and we thankfully followed her suggestion to end our tour at "We the Pizza" for lunch between our tours. We did this tour as a family of 4 with a 13 and 15 year old.
Jeff was a pro. A bike tour is the best way to see this fantastic city. We took our two kids, 11 years old and 13 years old, all around the city. Jeff gave a lot of interesting, historical, and insider details during our stops. We highly recommend touring Washington DC with Jeff. We all felt completely safe the entire time! He also took incredible photos of us at every stop. Thanks for your thoughtfulness, snacks, and a great kickoff for our first family trip to DC, Jeff!
Once you experience a bespoke bike tour of D.C. with DC Cycling Concierge, you'll realize you've been doing it wrong until now! A tour with Jeff is a one-of-a-kind, second-to-none experience, and the only way to see the sights in Washington, D.C. Especially with children. We are a family of four with two boys, ages 6 and 2. Jeff met us at our hotel with three bikes: two for the adults, and his rig, a "bicycle built for three" (or four), which included an attached "bike" for our six year old and a bucket with safety harness for the two year old (see pics, you could hear people say "check out that cool bike!"). We also received appropriately sized helmets, filled water bottles, some snacks along the way, and lunch! And if that weren't enough, Jeff takes professional-quality pictures the entire time, including individual and group shots, candids, and special pictures for the kids. No need to ask strangers "can you take our picture, please?" Jeff will Airdrop and email the photos to you after the tour. After overcoming some initial jitters by our two year old, we were off for an enjoyable and leisurely bike ride touring monuments and other locations of interest in D.C. It was an absolute blast. We went at our own pace, but managed to see a ton in the four and a half hours we were together: lots of cherry blossoms, the White House, National Mall, Vietnam Memorial, Lincoln Monument, Korean War Memorial, MLK Memorial, Tidal Basin & Jefferson Memorial, Smithsonian, Washington Monument, and more. There was even time for a relaxing lunch on the Waterfront. Walking the same destinations while trying to corral the kids and carry all our stuff would have taken twice as long, been utterly exhausting, and we wouldn't have made it to half the stops. Instead, a relatively flat bike ride was energizing throughout, but by the end of the day, wore the kids out (always the goal, right?). Jeff is lovely: knowledgeable and passionate about Washington, D.C., he has plenty of history and trivia for the adults, and items of interest for the kids. As a father himself, Jeff is great with kids and holds their interest from beginning to end. You won't just "see" the sights, you'll leave the tour having learned a lot about our nation's history, its capital, as well as the Presidents and other notable inhabitants of this marvelous city. We've already told Jeff he'll be our first call the next time we're in town. We want to take our next tour at night! Can't recommend highly enough.
Both our boys and ourselves had an amazing time with Jeff! He is very knowledgeable, has a great personality, a good sense of humor and is a great story teller. He planned an awesome tour that encompassed the most relevant areas of Washington DC, and mentioned important places we couldn't visit in cool stories. Very worth it!
Jeff is wonderful! Very knowledgeable, great stories and sense of humor. We had the best time at this tour!
We were looking for a bicycle tour of Washington DC and came across DC Cycling Concierge. We like the idea of a bicycling tour because it keeps us more engaged along with our three teenagers. Needless to say the experience was exactly what we were looking for. Jeff is just as personable as he is knowledgeable. He took care of all of the details for a perfect stress free experience. I can't recommend him enough.
I think Jeff is amazing. From the moment, he picked us up for the tour from OUR HOTEL, he had a positive attitude, a smile and high energy. He is extremely knowledgeable and engages everyone in the educational component of the tour. Jeff was basically an American history teacher to us and to our three children. He made learning fun. His routes were very well organized and easy to do with the bikes. He took lots of pictures and gave it to us at the end. We had such a blast that we asked him to do a second tour for us the NEXT DAY. Even on the second tour, his energy and enthusiasm continued, and all the sites were new and extremely interesting. Would highly recommend him for private tours, be it adults or adults and children.
It’s very simple. If you want the best bike tour experience in our nation’s capital, then book the dc cycling concierge. He gets top marks in every category: Incredible historian, stunning photographer, incredible attention to detail, excellent communicator, fun personality, great with both kids and adults, brilliant tour guide. We planned a lot in our dc trip, and this was by far the highlight and the source of all our “keeper” pictures. Just outstanding.
Just perfect for seeing and learning about many of the iconic DC sites. Jeff creates a custom pace that suites your group, and offers great dialogue along the way. After attempting to walk DC, and drive, I have come to realize biking is the only way to see DC in my opinion. I highly recommend Jeff and DC Cycling concierge.
Jeff was amazing!! Such a wealth of historical knowledge! Our entire family just had the best time on this tour. We couldn’t recommend it enough. None of us are cyclists and he made the entire trip SO EASY and stress free. Plenty of options for everyone’s ability and comfort levels.
We had the best time with DC cycling with my 3 children and husband seeing all the incredible sights of Washington. Jeff was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging with the kids and we all learned so much. Highly recommend
Such a great tour! We had two kiddos with us and they loved it as much as the adults! Jeff is amazing and so knowledgeable about all the monuments. Highly recommend!
Jeff is incredible! We had a large party- 10 total, and 6 were kids! He found a way to include us all. He has a unique bike with a basket in the front that our little ones loved, and a couple of tag along bikes for the younger riders. He is a gifted story teller- we learned unique and interesting details, through his story telling of how many of the landmarks and monuments came to be. And bonus- he's a great photographer! He snapped some really cool perspective pics for us at the Washington Monument. If you're in DC this is the #1 thing to do.
The first thing we realized when Jeff arrived at our hotel on time (he comes to your hotel with the bikes which is super convenient) was that he was really nice. He took out a map and helped us get oriented before we started, and asked us if there was anything particular that we wanted to see. Jeff was so knowledgeable, there wasn't a question that we asked that he couldn't answer and top up with multiple funny/interesting/historical stories to add color to the answer. He was equally adept at tailoring answers to age and interest level and was incredibly generous with his time making sure we saw every last thing we were curious about. He was patient with our children and carried snacks which came in handy a couple of hours in. He made us feel safe cycling on the street with our two children and tailored the trip for our ability levels without sacrificing anything and knew where the cleanest public toilets were whenever we needed to go. Jeff gave us an active, funny, and educational experience that was one of the best we've ever had on a family trip.
My family of four had a super fun and educational tour with Jeff. I highly recommend other DC residents take some time to be tourists in our city and book a tour. Every aspect of our experience was great, including the bikes, the stops, the guide, the snacks and water bottles, the windbreaker offered to my daughter when she got cold, and the photos Jeff took and shared with us at the end of the tour. We made some great memories, and I'm sure you will too!
I can't say enough good things about Jeff, and not just because we have known him for years. He is knowledgeable, friendly, and will customize your tour for you. This was our third time biking with Jeff. The first time was a nighttime tour years ago with me, my wife, and Jeff. The second time was 7 years ago for a daytime monument tour. This time we did a daytime tour, traveling along bike paths, and bike lanes on the road, seeing multiple monuments and buildings. One of our party was from France, and Jeff made sure to point out things related to France as we went. The only thing which made the tour even better was the amount of knowledge Jeff had about the sites. Every time we take a tour I learn something new about DC. On this trip, we had 6 people in our party. Jeff took one person on a tandem with him, and I had a tagalong on my bike for my 9 year old. We traveled at a great pace and had the best time.
Jeff’s tour has been a highlight of our trip to the US. He is very knowledgeable, considerate and appeals to all ages and audiences. Within three hours we got a great feel of the city, its monuments and history. We highly recommend it.
Our bike tour with Jeff was the absolute highlight of our family visit to Washington, DC. All of us – parents and kids (10, 8, 6) agreed that this was the best part of our trip by far – and that’s in competition with the other ‘must-dos’ - tours of the White House, Capitol, Archives, Washington Monument, museums…. Doing the monuments on bike allows you to see so much in a short time – it’s just a quick ride between the monuments, but I know that if we had walked, there would have been a lot of complaining from the little ones about their legs…With this tour, they didn’t get tired at all (even going past our original 3 hours!), and absolutely loved the fun and freedom of being on bikes! I was a bit nervous before the tour about the kids being able to handle the intersections and dealing with cars (they had never biked in a city before) but Jeff had us totally at ease throughout the entire journey, and the crosswalks and traffic weren’t an issue at all. The 6 year old is still a little wobbly on wheels and can’t pedal as fast as the others, so we opted for him to ride the trailer-cycle attached to Jeff’s bike – which was perfect: he still felt he was part of the biking action, and we had less to worry about. I know it’s vacation, but I highly recommend getting up early for this – we opted for a 7 am start and had half of the monuments all to ourselves, which was truly amazing. Even by the time some of them started to have more people, they were by no means ‘crowded’; and it certainly helped to bike the paths with fewer pedestrians to maneuver around. Jeff started off our tour by orienting us with a city map so we understood the layout of the city and where we would be traveling. And his bits of history, symbolism at the memorials, and storytelling were just the right amount – we learned so much, and the kids now have nuggets they will remember about each of the sites we saw. Our final stop of our trip was the top of the Washington Monument – which was a great cap off, as we looked down and were able to really absorb how much distance we had covered on our bikes! If you are a family with kids, I highly highly recommend Jeff’s bike tour – it will allow you to hit all the big sites in DC, without their legs wearing out!! And it was simply just so much fun! We will be talking about this one for a long time – and have all of the photos Jeff took to help remember it by, too!
I can’t think of a better way to tour DC. 3 kids ages 9, 11, 13 - all soaked up the sights, sounds, history and symbolism highlighted by a knowledgeable and passionate guide. This was a fantastic introduction to our capital.
We did this tour with two teenage kids (18 and 15yo) and all loved it. Jeff is a great storyteller, so knowledgeable, and created a great route for us to hit all the monuments. We were able to start at our hotel and end a different location so we could visit a museum afterward. I also messaged Jeff ahead to try and see cherry blossoms and he had found a place that had started blooming for us to visit. He brought water for all and snacks. He also helped take photos at all the sites and airdropped them to us at the end. This is not a strenuous ride since majority is flat. You have to bike around crowds in some parts. We did it our first full day in DC which was nice to get our bearings. We have recommended this tour to even our local DC friends because I bet they will learn something from Jeff they didn’t know. Can’t say enough great things about this tour.
This is the closest one can get to a real life Magic School Bus experience...but with bikes, and a fabulous guide named Jeff. The bikes were ready when we met him outside of our hotel. He ensured proper bike "fit" was accomplished and was prepared for the weather with some extras we might need-he had anticipated needs. The bikes themselves were well-chosen with comfortable seats and shocks-what a great way to see the city! This was our first time touring the city, and we hit the usual touristy highlights (Washington Monument Jefferson, etc...). With each stop, Jeff took great pictures of us despite the crowds, and we were able to get close. One of our favorite aspects of Jeff's approach was to talk about lesser known DC facts (to us, at least). Our favorite was his talk about Montgomery Meigs. It was clear Jeff was well-read in a manner that goes beyond superficial historical knowledge of the area. He seems to have a genuine love and care for what makes this historically and important to all kinds of people. We will most certainly use him again for a more focused tour in the future.
Jeff was brilliant. Great communication before our trip (so much better than booking with a big company as often get incorrect or vague information). We had a really good afternoon biking all over DC which everyone enjoyed. Jeff has in-depth knowledge and background on the city and everyone enjoyed his bringing the sights and monuments to life with their stories and histories. He is also very safe which is great while biking around a city. I’d highly recommend this tour - do it early in your trip so you get orientated for your stay and then can leisurely spend time in all the museums.
This was our favorite activity during our time in DC. Jeff met us at our hotel and had great equipment. The route was perfect - we hit everything we expected and more. His narrative was spot on - educational and age appropriate. Not only is he an excellent guide, he is a great photographer! I’m usually the one taking the pictures and now I have evidence I was on the trip.
Amazing! Highlight of our trip! We had a blast and learned so much. Jeff managed to engage our ten-yr-old son for four hours — an extraordinary feat. Communication with Jeff before the trip was seamless, and the bikes were comfortable and well-maintained. My husband and I had high expectations, and Jeff surpassed them! Worth every penny for a special day in DC.
Jeff was awesome! This was our family’s first trip to DC together and in one morning, Jeff was able to show us so many of the highlights of Washington DC. He was incredibly knowledgeable and told us so many interesting stories as we stopped at each site. We would highly recommend families to take this bike tour!
Excellent experience from the initial booking to the end of the bike tour. Jeff was responsive to all my questions and emails (and I had several). Very flexible with our need to change tour date due to the weather. Met us on time at our hotel and reviewed the route asking if there was anything specific we wanted to see and incorporated our requests into the tour. On the tour he was VERY knowledgeable of the history and facts about the monuments and sites in DC. Would definitely book again! In fact we are already looking at other tours they provide!
Jeff is an amazing cyclist, tour guide, and historian. You can't go wrong with booking a tour with DC Cycling Concierge. Our family of 4, including kids ages 8 and 5 thoroughly enjoyed our custom ride on the National Mall. While our family lives in DC, we saw our hometown through a new lens thanks to Jeff and his great facts and stories. The kids still talk about this great family activity.
We had a beautiful 5 hrs tour with Jeff, he’s very passionate and deeply experienced! Jeff helped us a lot in knowing more of Washington history and gave us very useful tips. He’s the man for a funny bike tour. Highly recommended!
The trip was fantastic!! Ella was super knowledgeable, friendly, and flexible, We took our three kids (two teens and a tween) and she was happy to modify as we went along to cater to everyone's interests. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough!!
Such a great way to see many of the iconic monuments and memorials of DC. Our tour guide did a great job of sharing the history and unique design features of each one, as well as helped us and our 8 year old daughter safely navigate the streets and sidewalks of DC on our bikes.
Jeff was incredibly patient with my active, talkative grandsons - was able to keep them engaged and still provide lots of interesting factoids for adults as well as children. The tour was at a good pace and so much fun even in 98 degree temperatures. This tour was on my bucket list and worth every penny.
Jeff is A M A Z I N G, we did a bike tour with our daughters (10&12) and had the best day. Not only was it super fun [and felt extremely safe] we learned a ton. Jeff's knowledge of DC and his love for the city and history is inexplicable. If you are reading this review it is because. you are contemplating this activity, don't over think it just book it, I promise it will be one of your family's favorite memories of visiting DC.
The tour was absolutely awesome! We have 4 kids (5-14), and Jeff made it interesting and entertaining for the whole family. So many cool facts and so much great riding. We were having such a great time that we ended up extending our tour a little bit longer. My 5 year-old said it was her favorite thing about the entire trip. Jeff had every detail well thought out, and then adjusted flawlessly on the fly when my wife wanted to make some adjustments to see other sights. This tour is a “must” on my family’s list when we return to DC.
We booked the private family friendly tour of DC and it was awesome! He suggested a convenient location to meet and we were able to see so many sites. He shared all the history in a kid friendly way which was much appreciated. My daughter loved riding in the front cart and my son loved the tag along bike. Highly recommend this tour especially for those with younger kids.
Wonderful experience with Jeff- he met us at our hotel directly and took us on a wonderful bike tour of Washington DC. He was so informative, friendly and made the experience so great. It was a great way to start our long weekend in DC, I highly recommend this tour - worth every dollar!
