We had such a wonderful experience with Jeff! Our 7 year old son was so engaged and excited the whole time. We always felt safe bicycling in the bike lanes and on park paths. The equipment provided was excellent quality. I highly recommend this tour for families!

We just returned from an extended weekend visit to DC and the entire family rated Jeff's nighttime monument tour as everyone's favorite experience (all 7 in our party)! Jeff is knowledgable, passionate and enthusiastic about not only biking but also about American history and DC. He knew everyone's names before our initial meeting and personalized the tour accordingly. We had a fantastic time with him, and he took some great photos of our family. His Giant bikes were all very well tuned up and everything worked perfectly, i.e. brakes, gear shifts, bells, lights. My family takes a lot of private tours since we travel around the world frequently, and we have had a lot of tour guides. Most in our experience may be well-informed and cordial but many are robotic and never learn everyone's names since they give tours day in and day out. Jeff is extremely knowledgable yet personal, and called everyone by their names. We loved the tour and would repeat if we ever returned to DC since the tour is completely customizable to your desire.

We had a fantastic bicycle tour of DC with Jeff. He had so many great stories and fascinating historical information to enliven our ride. It was so nice to follow someone who knew the bike lanes and could navigate to the various parks and monuments. The bicycles were very comfortable and safe. There are so many unique places we would have missed without our expert guide! With such a short visit to DC - this was the perfect activity to see it all, especially with a teenager. (He was grateful for the snacks and ice cream stop!) With the summer heat, it was ideal to have the option of a twilight/night ride to see the sights lit up in very comfortable weather. Two families with two tween girls did a night monument tour with Jeff and we couldn't have had a better experience. We were able to get a more personalized experience, including a stop for gelato! Jeff is a rare combination of incredibly knowledgeable and fun. All four of us - veterans of many tours, Viator and otherwise - thought he is one of the best guides we’ve ever had, regardless of type of tour. He was a careful leader (important when biking around DC), and while he kept us on schedule, he adjusted the schedule to accommodate our interests. Hands down the best city bike tour I've been on. Jeff is a fountain of wonderful stories and really made the city come alive. Too many city bike tour leaders just offer the standard history - Jeff took a deep dive, and dove even further when we wanted more. I booked the tour for myself and 3 of my children - ages 9, 13 and 18. He handled this age range with aplomb and kept the tour engaging for all - over 4 hours. No small feat! The tour is not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Could not recommend more enthusiastically.

Wow wow wow! Our night monument tour was the absolute highlight of our trip! Having not been to DC to explore as a tourist for years and having the opportunity to bring our kids was already special, but touring at night with Jeff was the cherry on the top. Seeing DC by bike at night is magical and Jeff is a wealth of behind the scenes knowledge you would never get from a typical “guide book.” We’ll be recommending to all our friends and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again!

Last night, Jeff hosted us on an UNFORGETTABLE night tour in DC. I was initially nervous as the mom of two children, but the trip was 100% safe. To my surprise, the biking was the least memorable part of the trip. Jeff was an impressive and articulate historian, an engaging storyteller and an intuitive host who kept both my children, my husband and I totally engaged. The sites were amazing - from the Capital to the Lincoln Memorial and beyond. We would have never learned so much about the architecture and the back stories behind the various museums on the mall or the war memorials. Turns out cherry blossoms, light rain, and riding at night make a lovely combination for a bicycle tour of the DC Monuments. Jeff was flexible, easy going, fun, extremely knowledgeable (history & local information), and provided us with great bicycles (with fenders!), helmets, waterproof gloves, bicycle lights and water bottles. Riding at night in a little rain meant we saw few other tourists which is saying something for cherry blossom season. We felt safe and well cared for. My biggest disappointment was not getting to do another bicycle tour with Jeff during the day due to heavy rain.

We had to change our planned day tour to an evening tour and Jeff was so flexible and accommodating. We had an incredible evening! We loved the bike lanes, hearing all his great stories about each monument, and getting just the right amount of history and info at each stop to educate and intrigue us. Bikes and equipment were great, we always felt safe and supported even w an 8yr old rider, and generally had a blast! Kids fav part was being shown all the cool angles to look at the Washington monument, including laying down! This was the highlight of our trip and the best way to see the national mall.

We met up with Jeff for a family "Monuments at Night" tour, and could not have been happier with our decision! He very clearly not only knows his stuff but is very passionate and thoughtful in its delivery, including to our children (9 and 11). He was very engaged with each of us and kept all of our attentions, filling in all kinds of "fun facts" that you would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere. Jeff is a really cool, all-around nice guy whose enthusiasm for DC history is nothing short of infectious. While it might not be surprising that this was the highlight of our entire trip for us adults, to hear our nine-year-old say this (unprovoked!) really underscores how great this is even for kids. For any family planners reading this, he came prepared with water bottles on the bikes (for us to keep) as well as plenty of snacks and even some hats and gloves to borrow for the cold weather. He really does all of the planning for you!

Wow! Our guide (Jeff) truly brought Washington DC and the history of our country to life for my family! Biking at night through DC is absolutely beautiful. Jeff had everything set: meeting spot, safe/high quality bikes that were fit for us, and safety briefing for our adventure. We then talked and planned out our route. The biking was so much fun, but Jeff’s stories are truly what makes this tour so incredible. It’s like seeing everything in DC with a universities top history professor! My family felt so special on our tour! This night bike tour will absolutely be the highlight of anybody’s trip to DC.

By far and away, our favorite thing we did on our trip to D.C. Jeff was a great tour guide and customized the trip to my family's desires and personalities. He was so great with my kids (12 and 8 y/o). He made it so fun, my 8 y/o didn't even realize she had biked 10 miles or that it was 11:30 PM when we got home. On top of his fantastic knowledge of the tourist sites, he was an excellent family photographer and some of our best family photos were by him. The highlight, however, was going to Gravelly Point so my planes-obsessed son could watch planes taking off and landing. Thanks Jeff for a great trip!

Incredible experience! Jeff so knowledgeable and personable. Hit all the highlights while at the same time making the tour personal to us. He listened to our background and interests and pointed out things that would hit a cord with us. There couldn't be anybody who knows the biking atmosphere in DC better than Jeff and he's a wonderful historian. Night experience was amazing because there were few, if any, crowds at the sites and we got up very close to everything. The bikes were in pristine condition and we all felt completely solid and safe with the equipment Jeff provided. Jeff also left us with almost 100 amazing photos!

This was a great experience! The ride was at a reasonable pace (our pace!), the stops were educational and interesting and Jeff was great - he engaged the whole family and was highly knowledgeable. This is a great way to learn a lot about the town and decide which sites or exhibits you want to do a deeper dive on. I learned several things with Jeff that I did not hear in the museums. He had snacks and water ready to go for us. Fantastic experience!

Jeff gave us the experience of a lifetime. We were referred by a friend and this tour lived up to the hype. Jeff is so knowledgeable that passers by were drawn in to his storytelling and one person actually stopped us to get Jeff's info for later. If you know how to ride a bike and are going to be in DC, book this tour! If you only have time for one thing, book this tour! My young family of four travels the world multiple times a year, and we all agreed this was one the best tours we’ve ever taken and was the highlight of our vacation to DC. I would book it again! Jeff is a genuinely nice guy and knows his stuff. He is a bike guy with a passion for the city he lives in. The tour pace was quick enough to keep kids engaged and slow enough for him to take family pictures for us and provide the perfect amount of information at each stop. We had limited time so couldn’t extend past the included 3 hours, but I think we all could have gone longer — shocking with a 7 and 10 year old that normally get bored quickly. Jeff is a parent and it showed. He really took the time to make each of my children feel special by talking individually to them about the things they each were interested in. When I asked questions about other buildings along the route, he had answers. The bikes are high quality, and we felt safe with the provided helmets, lights and Jeff in the lead. As a planner, I also appreciated the overview at the beginning when we reviewed a map to learn where we were going along the suggested (perfect) route. If you hate crowds, walking long distances, standing in the sun listening to generic scripts from underpaid tour guides, then hurry and book your private nighttime DC bike tour direct with Jeff. Worth every penny!!!

What an amazing tour!! Jeff lead us on a great adventure of fun and learning. We were able to enjoy the city's history, architecture, green spaces and amazing places all while on safe bike paths and with great equipment.

Our private night biking tour with Jeff was the absolute highlight of our visit to DC. His stories and knowledge about the monuments and city were entertaining and the night just flew by. We could never have visited as many sights in one evening any other way. At night, the crowds of tourists are gone and it is magical to see the buildings and monuments illuminated. It's an entirely different perspective than visiting during the day. The bikes were comfortable and a lot fancier than my bike at home, with disc brakes and shock absorbers. Jeff is an expert rider and I felt entirely safe riding at night and navigating the bike lanes (sometimes right up the middle of the roadway) and paths. I'm an over 70 occasional rider and I had no problems, although riding to the backside of the Capitol is a "Hill". Jeff provided water and snacks, which was appreciated along the way. The evening was cool, but I was comfortable with my windbreaker and gloves. I am so glad that we did our ride on the evening of the first full day of our visit, because it helped to put the city in perspective for our sightseeing later that week. An awesome tour, Jeff arrived where we were staying with bikes and ensured that each bike fit our riders. He came prepared with hats gloves and wind breakers for when the temperature cooled. Our group was 7 to 75 and Jeff was able to accommodate the ability and interest of all. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the monuments and infused his commentary with stories that made it fun and interesting. We highly recommend this tour.

The perfect way to see DC. Jeff gave our family a well planned, safe, very informative 4 hour tour. We covered a college tour on bike, monuments at night and a nice ride along the Potomac. Jeff knows so much history, interesting facts and is an amazing photographer capturing my family at all of our stops. I was a little worried about my ten year old riding on city streets, but Jeff planned a great route, gave us wonderful and easy to remember safety instructions and set a pace that was perfect for our family. The bikes, helmets and lights were top notch equipment and he even had reusable water bottles for us to keep. He packed healthy snacks and protein bars for our stops along the way. Jeff knew the cleanest, public bathrooms on our tour.. big bonus with my daughters. Can't wait to do another tour with Jeff in August, but until then I will just have to just do the rides he has on i fit.

We had THE best time with Jeff on our nighttime cycling tour! We cycled for 4 hours and my whole family was talking about it for days afterwards. Jeff is the best guide, he knows so much history and also other historical facts you'd probably not hear about on other tours. The hours flew by and seeing the sights lit up at night was majestic. He took lots of great family pics for us when we stopped and brought us water and snacks as well. And while 4 hours seems like a long time on a bike, the time flew by, it's almost completely flat, and at night there's not as much traffic so it's fun to bike around the monuments with less crowds. He will customize the tours to your liking and he brought the bikes to our hotel for us. I would highly recommend this tour and Jeff as your tour guide next time you're in DC, you won't be disappointed and you will learn a lot.

We loved our bike tour with Jeff! Seeing all the sites on bike is absolutely the best way to do it, and the personalized experience was exactly what we were hoping for. Plus, with a small group size you can always hear what he's saying (which is not always the case with large groups) and you can ask all the silly tourist questions you want.
