Our tour guide was Allen, the day of the tour we got a text meeting telling us what he would be wearing and a reminder of where the meeting place would be. No other tour guides have done this. Excellent start, and just got better. Everyone should tour the national archives at least once in their life. Now onto Allen, exceptional guide, no knowledgeable, took his time explaining everything and did not rush us through. At the end of our tour, he has taken the time to type up a letter to had out to us with some of the most important information because there was so much to take in all at once. You ca tell he takes pride in the job he is tasked to do. Thank you Allen for making it such a great experience.

Itinerary
This is the best way to skip-the-line and save time, to explore the experiment that is the United States of America! Start with the original handwritten “Charters of Freedom” housed in their spectacular Rotunda. Your guide will narrate the extraordinary circumstances that brought this nation into existence. No trip to the US Capital city is complete without a visit to the National Archives. Surround yourself with documents and paintings that offer both depth and nuance to the period that founded the United States of America. And at Babylon we take it a step farther. In the Rubenstein Gallery, go even deeper into the philosophical foundations by viewing a 1297 copy of the Magna Carta. Your guide will encourage you to explore the concept of citizenship, what it means and how the criteria for those included have evolved from a declaration which stated “all men are created equal”.
After a break to ponder the complexity of history (and grab a bite) your guide will lead you to the Smithsonian American History Museum. This museum is a caretaker for an incredible blend of scholarly history and pop culture whose memories create a unique bond among the people who experienced them. Your guide will introduce you to the most famous items in the collection, like the flag that flew over Ft McHenry inspiring the poem that was eventually adapted into the National Anthem. Featured too is the most visited exhibition in the history of the Smithsonian: the First Ladies exhibit. While you’re there, see why the most requested artifact is Dorothy’s Ruby Red Slippers — displayed not too far from the top hat Abraham Lincoln wore that fateful night to Ford’s Theatre. Your guide will provide stories and background to expand on the reason these items (out of hundreds of thousands in the collection) serve as living touchstones for the concept we call the United States of America.

Our guide Allen was so good. He was extremely knowledgeable about the museum & US History and was professional and courteous at all times. Overall great experience with a great guide!
Debra was our tour guide. Beautiful young lady, full of knowledge and excited to share and explain, not only the artifacts, but the story behind them.
Good way to see the museums & get additional information from the guide about the various exhibits,
We are on a big history quest, and for the important sites we just get so much more out of it with the tour, but the small group it is easier to make sure we cover what is important to us.
Excellent experience. Good pace but definitely a full day. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and very responsive to our interests.
Maribeth did an excellent job. I particularly thought we would not have been able to appreciate the archives without her assistance.
We had a fantastic tour. Maribeth was so knowledgeable and her ability to guide us through both the Archives and the Museum made it a breeze to hit all the key elements. Her knowledge is immense and she involves you in the moment, bringing history to life. Not an easy task. Recommend both her and Babylon highly.
My husband and I had an amazing tour with Maribeth. She was very sweet and extremely knowledgeable. She provided great insight and factual tidbits for each exhibit we visited. Additionally, she had lots of interesting stories and historical information to share with us. Maribeth was very flexible with regards to time spent at each museum and structuring the tour around our interests and needs. We highly recommend her for any tour! She was amazing!
It was a great tour a must see. Christopher was full of knowledge and stories on all the main and important things to see. He makes sure he involves everyone during the tour which was great. So glad we did it and doing it in a small group and then you can go about after and see everything else.
Annemarie was very knowledgeable about the National Archives. From the moment we started until the end of the tour, she continually provided fun facts about the history of the building and the contents that it held. She took the time to focus and educate us on the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.
Annemarie was wonderful. Right on time, very friendly. She took care to engage with each member of the group including my two children (10, 13).
Donna was an amazing tour guide and we loved every minute of our tour of the Archives. She was so knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommend for families and others.
We took the Narional Archives tour to see the constitution, declaration of independence l, and bill of Right. Paul was our tour guide. Extremely knowledgeable of the history of all the exhibits. Wonderful tour would recommend again, especially if you have questions about things also we got to cut the lines which made the trip even better
Loved seeing the highlights with Rebecca..loved the detail that she was able to add to each presentation. She was funny and knowledgeable
Kate was very informative and great. It was a small group. We visited the National Archives. It was a full 2 hours. I was able to use my foldup scooter.
We had a great tour before this one. Did not sign up for private tour but it ended up that way. The museum and archives are surreal.
The visit was amazing because of Annemarie. Her knowledge of the subject matter and very engaging personality made the tour of the National Archives very memorable and to the enjoyment. I would rate the tour as a perfect 10.
Ryan was awesome and had great info. Very knowledgeable and insight as we were able to discover the history of this great nation
Annemarie was an excellent guide. She was extremely thorough and answered all questions that the group posed. It is truly a tour that is informative.
Anne-Marie was fantastic. Very informative. Very enthusiastic in her work. She made it very enjoyable and educational. We would love to take another tour with her in Babylon.
We had a private tour with Maribeth and she was so informative and so easy to be with. We have done a lot of private tours all over the world and I would argue that she was the best and most interesting and informed guide we have ever had.
Meghan our guide was knowledgeable and had great energy. She was able to balance well the interests and needs of a group that included retired folks all the way to young kids. The commentary really enhanced the experience at of the museums, so much so that we decided to book a tour for another day at a different museum.
A great small group tour with so much to see was pulled together expertly by our tour guide, Maribeth. We learned so much and had a great experience.
Annemarie was great and had a lot of interesting information. We enjoyed learning about the paintings in the rotunda. Thanks!
Maribeth was great! Very with the time! Very knowledgeable and caring. Would highly recommend! Revolutionary and civil war knowledge as well as American presidents
Maribeth was great! And extremely knowledgeable. Took time to answer questions. She was kind and cared about our comfort. Would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys learning about history.
Lots of information, great overview and your. Took 7 year old through 18 year old kids. All had a great time! Donna was friendly and knowledgeable.
Ahhhmazing experience, Annemarie was so very knowledgeable and really enjoyed teaching and sharing information about some of the most important documents in American History. This tour was fascinating, I was completely captivated by her knowledge and understanding of American History and art. I would keep her for the next four days of our trip if I could just to absorb a fraction of what she knows.
Ms. Brenda did an excellent job! Very engaging, knowledgeable, impeccable communication and PATIENT. I would definitely love to have her give us tours elsewhere, if available. She loves what she does, and it shows.
This tour was amazingly inspiring and educational. Our tour guide Annemarie was knowledgeable, friendly and overall passionate of what she does. I appreciated the time she spent with us and answering our questions and not making us feel bad when we didn’t know the answer. We need more people like Annemarie to teach our American history.
Tour review I am so grateful that I got to see the National Archives for the first time with Annemarie! She was friendly and knowledgeable, and gave us just the right amount of context and explanation for the things we were seeing. Plus, she peppered it with some interesting facts you wouldn’t always get from a history book. Most interesting to me was what she told us about the murals in the Rotunda. Without her there, I wouldn’t know how to interpret what I was seeing, and I would just look at it as two stately paintings. I wouldn’t have learned about the choices the artist made and combined it with the real history. The tour felt like it went by quickly! Annemarie is really knowledgeable, friendly, and has a nice speaking voice and demeanor…you never feel like you’re being lectured, instead you feel like you’re learning interesting things from a like-minded friend. 10/10 recommend!! Also appreciated skipping the line, maximizing our time there!
Fabulous trip, Annmarie was so interesting and knowledgeable, we learned so much. I would strongly recommend anybody going to the national archive take this tour. Without it, you will miss so much.
Great tour with Maribeth, great to get the history behind these super historical documents, plus a few extras in the museum section. Thank you Maribeth!
Our tour guide Brenda was outstanding. My wife is totally blind and I have mobility issues. She went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable and her informative style made our day. You have a Jewel in Brenda!
Great experience with a wonderfull guide Maribeth! Would advise it to everyone. I will book Babylon Tours again the next time I need a tour
We booked the small tour of the National Archives Museum and it could not have been more of an informative, historically-charged delight! Our tour guide, Donna, met us well in advance of the appointed time and ensured that we were welcome and engaged from the outset. Her manner and style were equally matched with the breadth of historical knowledge she shared. The approximately two hour tour flew by and left us hungry for more information. It was so refreshing to have this experience. We toured many museums on this recent visit, but our absolute favorite tour was this one led by Donna of Babylon Tours!
Our guide Annmarie was great!! So knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour. I learned so much and this was my 2nd time to the archives.
Annmarie was a great guide and we learned do much that we would have missed on our own. I highly recommend the semiprivate option.
Donna was friendly and professional, knowledgeable and fun. We had a wonderful experience learning about the beginnings of our nation and the courage of men who founded it.
Excellent tour...Kate was not only informative but literally brought the history to life with her costumes and dialogue!
Annemarie was excellent, very knowledgeable and with great anecdotes. We would definitely sign up for other tours with her.
Annemarie had soo many amazing and unique historical stories to share. I learned so much and was grateful to have a tour guide, especially for the Archives, otherwise the experience would have been much less interesting, and I wouldn't have as a great of an appreciation as I do now. It also helped for the American History museum where there was a huge amount of exhibits, which would have been overwhelming without a guide. I highly recommend this tour!!
Donna is the epitome of what customer service should be. Very knowledgeable of American, and also gave us the source where she got her information from.... thank you ma'am.
Annemarie was a very informative and interesting guide! Very knowledgeable and kept the tour engaging and fun, both for young adults and history buffs alike.
Doug was the best guide. He did everything he could to make the experience the best for us. He was knowledgeable and made the day fun.
Maribeth was very informative and made our experience a memorable and pleasant one. We learned so much on the tour, as she knows her stuff and loves what she does. She brought what could be a very dry tour to life with the history she shared.
Annemarie was very pleasant. She was quick and knowledgeable to all our questions regarding the tour. I highly recommend booking with Annemarie for any tour!
Had a fantastic tour of the Archives with Annemarie today...everyone in the tour group was a early, so we were able to be first ones into the document room...which was amazing. Very knowledgable. Would recommend!!!
Excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. We enjoyed the tour very much. I highly recommend this tour.
