Engaging and informational. We were pleased with the level of care and thoughtfulness used in this extraordinary museum. So many fun and interesting things. Next time

What an excellent experience! Unfortunately, we didn’t budget sufficient time to explore and enjoy the full museum. We scheduled 2 1/2 hours which was not nearly enough time. There is so much to look at, read and films to watch. We definitely will be going back.
This is a very well laid out museum, with five floors of interesting and unique information and artifacts. When we arrived, one of the guest coordinators gave us a quick 'roadmap' of what our first experience should be like. He was very helpful
There is great history in this museum. So it is better for middle school on up. I wish there was more for elementary students and pre k.
The building was nice and new. There were many displays that ranged from educating non believers about Jesus to displays of advanced Hebrew historical documents. All reproductions. The Bible display was extensive
It was amazing. We spent 6 hojrs enjiyinv the most meaningful experiemce of my life. We cried. Wr learned, we feltempowered
It was awesome! I love the way it was set up! Starting from the basement and ending up to modern time.
The Museum of the Bible was a welcoming surprise and, without a doubt, the highlight of our Washington, DC, trip! I loved everything about our visit. We began our day with worship, which truly captured the essence of the experience and set the tone for everything that followed. From that moment on, it was an incredible journey through the history, preservation, and impact of the Bible. With six floors to explore, there was something new to discover around every corner. Each floor was like opening a new chapter in the story of the Bible—where it began, how it was printed, and the ongoing work of translating it into more than 500 languages that still need access to Scripture. It was both educational and inspiring. The Emmaus Walk movie was an eye-opener, and the area depicting how Jesus lived brought the biblical world a little closer to home. We watched three movies, including an interactive experience, and enjoyed learning throughout the day. The first floor also has a lovely little gift shop and a hands-on area for children. There are three restaurants within the museum, and the food was very good! My favorite was the upstairs garden seating area, which was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a meal. My only suggestion would be to offer senior-sized portions and senior pricing for meals. The museum is thoughtfully designed, with elevators, stairs, and restrooms on every floor, making it easier to spend the day exploring. We were there from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., and I feel six hours was enough time to enjoy a self-guided tour without feeling rushed. One practical tip: We parked at Colonial Parking, which cost $24. It was about a walk around the block to get to the museum, so keep that in mind when planning your visit. Plus the museum fee. Whether you are a lifelong student of the Bible or simply curious about its history and influence, I highly recommend this experience. It was educational, moving, and faith-filled. For me, it was so much more than a museum visit—it was the highlight of our Washington, DC, trip!
We started at the top floor and ate at the cafe first, large sharable portions. Then went down to the next floor and so forth. It was amazing. Loved the elevator murals. Loved all the bible displays. I well deconstruction take a guided tour nexr time. Touched the piece of the temple wall. Definately made me feel closer to Christianity at a time when i was questioning it. I recommend to go a minimum of 2 days. There is just so much to see and do. LOVED IT! Don't miss this!
Excellent experience! My husband and I were curious to visit the museum and it did not disappoint. This is a must visit.
Great experience, you will spend at least 3 hours , I plan to go back and spend 5 hours , highly recommended
So incredible. So moving! The recreation of old Jerusalem was wonderful! I felt like I was right there! So wonderful! So glad that I came! I spent 6 hours there and did not see everything! Definitely would do again!
Excellent museum!! I learned a lot!! I love all the interactive exhibits!! I will be back with my friends!!
This is a hidden treasure. I hadn't heard of this in my last 3 visits to DC. Our hotel concierge recommended it. We loved it. I recommend you start on floor 4 with the Old Testament and the New Testament rooms. Their videos are amazing and I learned things I hadn't known, as a 65-year-old devout Christian. We spent 2 hours and only touched half of the museum, so please plan on more time The gift shop is pretty cool too. Very modern technology, and so much to see. Half price after 3 pm, but that doesn't give you enough time to see it all. Metro stop is a block away behind the museum, for easy access. This is must see!
Amazing museum to visit with family. My kids enjoyed the whole experience. My 8 year old had so much fun in the kid area. We learned so much, the history is rich there. We will come back since we didn’t have much time. It definitely needs a whole day.
The Bible Museum was a wonderful experience however we were not informed that we needed to ask for a tour when we got to the desk to check in and feel that we may have missed an opportunity to learn more
We bought the tickets in advance because we were visiting from out of state. Beautiful facility and exhibits, highly recommend the Washington's Revelations (think soaring over California from Disney iykyk). Only downside was the day we went was on a Tuesday and the museum was free to the public that day. The staff was kind enough to offer us tickets to one of the paid exhibits (which was only $5/10 per person) but they couldn't reimburse us for the general admission tickets because we bought them thru a 3rd party. The price advertised for the GA tickets was fine but it would've been nice to know we didn't need to pay for it on the day we picked...
We bought tickets to the Museum of the Bible through Viator in order to get cash back through Raketun. Unfortunately, when you buy tickets through a 3rd party, you still have to stand in line to get your pre-paid tickets. The line was at least 20 minutes wait which we weren’t expecting to have to stand in line when we first arrived so this was a real disappointment. Just FYI for anyone else planning this trip. Also, any special exhibits are extra and not included in this voucher. So we ended up paying extra to see the Dead Sea scrolls once we got up to the ticket counter. Overall, we still enjoyed our time at the museum.
Really interesting and some brilliant exhibits. Couldn’t believe Jhow karge each section was and how busy it was
Such a beautiful and classy place. We were able to view the Megiddo Mosaic, a must see, on tour here through 12/31/26. We enjoyed our additional tickets for All Creation Sings and Washington Revelations.
We spent several hours at The Museum of the Bible. Wished we had more time. There is so much to see and absorb.
We spent 4 hours at the museum and didn't see it all!! It is a very nice museum with a great experience
Such a wonderful interactive museum! So interesting!
Museum of the Bible was such an awesome experience for us! It is beautiful inside and out and so inspiring! The exhibits are interesting, intriguing and very well organized. We enjoyed hearing biblical stories, and seeing so many rare artifacts. My favorite was the replica of Nazareth. It was beautiful, peaceful and seemed so real as though you were actually walking the streets of a first-century village. Each staff member we encountered were very helpful, friendly and welcoming. If you are planning a visit to the DC area, be sure to add this experience to your list of attractions. You will not be disappointed!
Very well done and great attention to details. Plus the Mana cafe had delicious food!
This experience was a very special time with my husband and I. The driver made us really feel like we were VIPs during our trip. I highly recommend this service.
Plan to spend many hours there. Public parking is very close. The Mana Café is very good. We appreciated the time the museum recognized our nation's 250th celebration.
You can purchase tickets online or walk in and buy them. Tuesday’s general admission is currently free and you can visit the first floor for free other days. Right now, you can see mosaics from an early church on the first floor. Premium exhibits are an additional cost. There are 5 floors, I believe, so lots of steps. It’s a beautiful building. Our favorite general exhibit was The World of Jesus of Nazareth. While there are some original pieces throughout the museum, there are a lot of facsimiles and replicas of items. Currently the Dead Sea Scrolls are there for an additional cost to visit. This is one of the reasons we wanted to visit. It has fragments of scrolls and containers they were in and lots of artifacts from the time period the scrolls were written. We took the metro. (Cards are available at all stations and you need one per person. We like to get the whole day passes, so we can use it to travel all over the city.) The closest Metro stop (Federal Center SW-blue, orange, silver). When you come out of the station, go left, this is D Street SW. At the corner of 4th Street SW, turn left and the museum will be on your left. There are lots of signs to direct you. It’s about a 5 minute walk.
This was our first visit to the Museum of the Bible, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip to Washington, DC. While admission is a little more expensive than many of the city's museums, the experience more than justified the cost. The museum is beautiful, and the use of technology throughout the exhibits is unlike anything else we experienced in DC. The displays are incredibly immersive and make you feel like you're stepping into the stories of the Bible rather than just reading about them. There is so much to see that it's easy to spend several hours exploring, and every floor offers something different. Whether you're interested in history, archaeology, or the Bible itself, there's something here for everyone. If you're visiting Washington, DC, I highly recommend making time for the Museum of the Bible. It was one of our favorite attractions of the entire trip.
My husband and I visited the Museum of the Bible during our trip to Washington, DC this weekend, and overall we had a good experience. The museum was very easy to get to, parking was convenient, and the facility itself is beautiful. It’s a large, well-maintained building with multiple floors, so there’s plenty to explore. The staff was generally pleasant, and the museum was clean throughout our visit. One thing I was surprised by was the lack of staff throughout the exhibits. I expected to see more employees available to answer questions and more people dressed in biblical attire to help create an immersive experience. We did encounter a few in the Jerusalem exhibit, but outside of that, there wasn’t much interaction. Some of the employees stationed near the guided experiences and theater entrances also weren’t particularly welcoming. One negative experience happened when we were leaving one exhibit. There was a liquid spill on the floor, and although an employee clearly knew it was there, he didn’t stop me before I stepped directly into it. Instead of standing in front of the spill or placing a caution sign down, he waited until after my foot was already soaked. My pants were long, so the bottoms became wet, and I spent the rest of the visit walking around with a damp shoe and pant leg. It was frustrating because it easily could have been prevented. As far as the exhibits, I enjoyed many of them, but I was disappointed that several artifact displays had been removed for rotation or additional research. I completely understand preserving artifacts, but it was disappointing to visit and not be able to see some of the pieces we were looking forward to. The highlight for me was the floor that recreated life in biblical times. Walking through replicas of homes, a synagogue, an olive press, and other everyday settings really helped bring Scripture to life. That was the immersive experience I had hoped for throughout more of the museum. I also really enjoyed the educational videos that played throughout the exhibits. The presenter was engaging, knowledgeable, and made biblical history interesting. There was a class being offered that we didn’t have time to attend, but I would definitely consider it if we return. Some areas, like the American history exhibits and modern innovation displays, just weren’t as interesting to me because I came specifically for the biblical experience. I did enjoy several interactive features, including: * Receiving a bookmark that showed my biblical age. * The listening stations with music. * The “I Connect” area where visitors could record a one-minute testimony about how Scripture has impacted their lives. * The digital wall where you could describe in one word how reading the Bible makes you feel. * Creating your own Scripture artwork. I would have loved to see even more hands-on interactive exhibits throughout the museum. Overall, we enjoyed our visit, and I’m glad we went. It just wasn’t quite the immersive biblical experience I had imagined. If you’re interested in biblical history, it’s definitely worth visiting, but I would recommend setting your expectations more toward an educational museum than a fully interactive biblical experience.
Very informative and interesting. It does take a while, it took us 2.5 hours and it took some ppl 6-8 hours.
This is a must see if you are a fan of the Bible or Christianity. Definitely go on a Tuesday because that is the only day it is free admission. Give yourself plenty of time, we did not. Gave ourselves 2 hours before they closed and only made it half way through the museum with a lot of rushing. They have a live guttenburg press demonstration. Lots of old Bibles.
Wonderful place to visit with the entire family. Also good for churches to bring different children age groups in to learn the history.
There was so much to see and experience. We really did not allot enough time to see it all. We will absolutely go back.
Stunning ! I love everything! My favorite parts were the 4th floor where it talks about the different translations of the bible and the rooms showing what languages are yet to be translated. Thats beautiful! Then the 3rd floor when you have those interactive characters that tell you about the synagogue and olive oil. I love how the restaurant on the top floor is called Manna and I had the tuna salad sandwich with fries. Very yummy. It met my expectations, and they were pretty high.
We traveled to DC for our 50th wedding anniversary and celebrate the 250th. Decided at the last minute to see the museum. Unique interactive museum. Unfortunately, pricey and very commercialized. Most of the major advertisements were replicas. The section where actors are used is excellent. The video tours were excellent. The historical framework for demonstrating the role of the Bible in American history was outstanding. So many rude and imposing tourists for my taste.
I saw some very interesting things but after having been to Israel I already knew a lot of stuff. Still worth seeing.
Excellent museum. When I read that the estimated time spent here was 3-5 hours, I was skeptical. I was blown away that we came to the end of our tour and we had spent 5 and a half hours! The museum is Excellent and very engaging!
Amazing museum- so much history about the Bible. The videos of people talking gave an authentic atmosphere which was very informative. At least 3 hours are needed to tour- more would be advisable.
Plan to spend the entire day. It takes time to read and experience all the great things in this museum.
I couldn't download the Viator voucher so I had to buy a second/new ticket. VIATOR should communicate better with venues.
A huge museum focused on Bible, Jesus, Holy Land, and Christianity. The materials are very well presented with lots of engaging visual technology. I spent five hours there and I was unable to visit one entire floor. A special exhibit on the Dead Sea Scrolls was on and it was very informative. Free docent led tours are offered and I took the one on Jesus and Nazareth. The tour took you through impressive dioramas that sought to create the locale and setting of Nazareth during Jesus’s time. As is typical of museums, there was a large gift shop and also cafes for a bite. Ticket prices are discounted for various groups including seniors. Although the focus is on Christianity and Judaism, I did not find the presentation to be evangelizing.
Excellent experience and at a very fair price.
A wonderful experience and simply must-do. Our family did a day trip to the museum for Father's Day this year and we had a wonderful time. The museum is laid out expertly and is very navigable. Some of the interactive exhibits reminded me of Disney-level quality. Go see the Dead Sea scrolls while they are still here- truly incredible fragments of history that have somehow withstood the test of thousands of years. Wish it was just a bit more affordable so that more people could participate- really, everyone should do it.
The museum tells a very interesting history on the history of the Bible. It is an enjoyable experience no doubt. However, the only thing is they are trying to get you to convert to another religion. I do disagree with them on some of their views but I still think it's a wonderful museum. Enjoyed their exhibit on the dead sea scrolls. I would go back again but just remember they have their views if you wish to visit. It's okay to have your views. They're wonderful people I still had a good time but I'm just being realistic.
What a great day! I got to see the Dead Sea Scrolls! The Hebrew Bible Experience and the New Testament Experience were exceptional! The World of Jesus of Nazareth was such an amazing vibe! Spent about 5 hours enjoying the museum.
Viator said ticket redemption was on the 6th floor. It’s on the 1st floor. Museum was good. Dead Sea Scrolls were super cool.
That this is a shameless attempt to normalize Christian nationalism. The special exhibits were good.
We visited the Museum of the Bible with a school group and it is a very impressive place. It opened in 2017 but it all looked very new to me. We spent several hours here but I feel like we only scratched the surface of what is available.
We love museum of the Bible. It had lots of fun experiences for everyone. It also had immersive activities for the family.
