Nice ride to Mt Vernon, informative driver, talked a lot, vans on time for pick up before and after tour. We had plenty time to visit the grounds before being picked up to leave.

Excellent! On time pick up and drop off. Friendly driver. Trip commentary was spot on. Trip details were all handled for us.
I am glad I went but don’t ever need to go back. The driver tried to be entertaining but was very annoying for the most part.
The view of the Potomac from the back of Mt. Vernon home is incredible. It was a beautiful clear day to explore the grounds. I wish there had been more time to visit the distillery. Our guide, Robert, was very informative and fun. In addition to the drive through old town Alexandria, he drove us to the Iwo Jima memorial. It was a day well spent.
Bobby, who was our driver and guide, did a great job. Really enjoyed his commentary and his jokes. Read some poor reviews about this tour beforehand but Bobby certainly put my concerns to bed. Really enjoyed this tour.
The vehicle was old, needed a wash and was dented. Getting an earlier start might have made it to where we didn't have to stand in line to view the manison. The tour guide knew his history.
Basically this is transportation to the home with a little narrative along the way if you can hear it over the road noise. Most if our group of 12 were having difficulty and our driver could not hear us either. We were dropped off with some instructions and then were on our own until picked up by a different driver and driven back to our drop off point. Pick up driver provided a little narrative at the beginning of our trip home. The return vehicle was much better acoustical so we could hear the driver talk.
We had an amazing time! My only suggestion is perhaps give your guests a rough estimate of how much time to spend in each main attraction. We got carried away in certain areas that we had little time left for the museum.
The driver did not speak loud enough to hear him-he also got lost and limited information about the site
Not as described, there was not a 1 hour tour through Alexandria and the driver going to mount vernon was a very strange dude, but we got there and back without a problem.
We had a great tour, spent 3 hours at Mount Vernon, a must see! Bus driver was very informative, we learned a lot of history.
The whole operation was awkward and uncoordinated. Driver: - knowledgeable - slightly funny - somewhat inconsiderate of passengers: - asked us to sit in a hot van while we waited to depart. - had disagreements with other van driver - radio too loud - asked for tips. Van - very cramped - rough rough ride. Felt like a roller coaster
The only reason this tour gets a star is because of the amazing tour of Mt. Vernon itself and the group of people that were in my tour. That being said, DO NOT book with Loba tours for this tour or any other. The driver Frank was extremely unprofessional, reckless, and confrontational. Rather than give a tour, he rambled utter nonsense and was reckless with his driving, and confrontional with other drivers on the road. Please dont waste your time and money. There are plenty of other reputable tour groups that would do a better job with an enjoyable experience.
Disorganised, no air conditioning on very old buses. Both drivers of the 2 buses spent the first few minutes arguing! Not enough time at Mount Vernon! It actually costs $30 per adult to access Mount Vernon so not sure where the rest of the charge for the trip went!! It would have been better to get a cab there tbh ! Frankie Lee was knowledgeable but not professional! We had an unnecessary discussion about school buses -strange ! He pulled up to collect us then pulled off again saying he needed to get a parking ticket. His partner Bobby, of the accompanying bus didn’t know what we were talking about when we told him he had drove off to pay for parking! When he arrived to collect us the sliding door wouldn’t open properly because it had a big dent in it !
The trip to Mount Vernon was very interesting. There was so much to see.. And although it sounds like a long period of time, we probably could’ve used another hour there. Unfortunately, the downside of this tour was that the tour van did not have enough seeds for all the participants. On the way back, I had to sit on my partner‘s lap, which was ridiculous. besides being extremely uncomfortable, it was a safety hazard, and also prevented some of the other participants from being able to look out the window. Our tour guide had said a couple of offensive comments which were not appreciated.
Mt Vernon has turned commercialized. Inside the main house has been remodeled nicely but its all about the charging guests high prices. I stupidly paid 62.00 for a stuffed bird.
Great experience. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommended !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The driver was very aggressive and it was scary. He was going way too fast and honking at everybody. I was not comfortable.
Guide was very knowledgeable on the driving part of tour.. Mt Vernon is a very large estate.. Many areas of interest to see… It is self guided w/audio.. Once inside the mansion there are staff that give you explanations of the house. There is a museum. We did not get to see that.
This tour was not worth the price and the driver was unacceptable. For starters, we were meant to meet up at a hotel. The driver makes no effort to get out of the van and round up the group. I noticed that an otherwise white van had lobo tours on it and walked up to it and he said I should get in if I am in the tour. He never got out of the van, even to stand outside of the van, to round people up which in my experience of tours like this is very normal. Ok - no big deal (maybe not going above and beyond but not a great first impression.). Everyone else in the group also has to play detective to find the van and eventually everyone is on board. BEFORE WE EVEN LEAVE THE MEET UP HOTEL, the DRIVER tells us that tips are not included and that we should be encouraged to give a tip. One of the members of the group made a joke about the tip and the driver, in response to the person's cheeky joke, says something to the effect of "You know I can just drop you in the middle of town and leave right" and the other group members says "You have to get further away from the hotel before you start making threats. like that." BEYOND unacceptable. He then starts making comments about how he wasn't suppose to work that day, trying to garner sympathy. He was incredibly unprofessional. Had allergies and coughing the whole trip and his first comment about leaving us in the middle of nowhere left the worse taste in my mouth. For these reasons, I cannot recommend LOBO tour. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ALLUDE TO ABANDONMENT ON A TOUR. As a solo female traveler, I especially would not recommend this tour. It was otherwise a mid tour but these experiences were just unacceptable for a tour that I paid for.
Robert was our driver to and from Mount Vernon. He was truly passionate about ensuring we had a great day and added a few additional sights along the way. Very entertaining and a lovely guide, thank you Robert you made our day.
Had a wonderful time on this tour. Mt Vernon was everything I expected it to be. Our guide gave us an excellent tour of Alexandria both coming and going.
They do have a trolleys at MT Vernon to take you to see the farm, the burial site and wharf if you have limited mobility!
Robert went above and beyond and drove us around additional monuments and memorials telling us the history of each.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this location. It was a well organised trip with plenty of time to see the property and surrounding buildings and displays. Our guide for the day was excellent and knew his stuff well. The tour lasted about 6 hours and was long enough for what there was to see.
It’s a good value.we enjoy it very much. Loved the new theater. The ride was about 45 minutes from pick up spot.
Our driver was funny and informative. The grounds are beautiful and wonderfully preserved. Highly recommend.
If your a history buff and you Love our country walking the historic grounds of George & Martha Washington is an experience that not all get to do. See where it all happened, how they lived, how everything is being preserved, as you walk and look around you actually feel like you are going back in time, see where our very first President Commander in Chief and his wife are laid to rest. The Mount Vernon Ladies Association have done a unbelievable job in the preservation of this estate. Before or after you enter the grounds spend some time in the Mt Vernon Historical Museum they bring everything to life for you.
There was no real guided tour of the inside of the house. There was supposed to be a knowledgeable guide in each room telling you all about the room, but when we went thru the house only two rooms had a guide in it telling you anything. One of them was very good but unfortunately most of the rooms had no guide so we got no information. The grounds are beautiful and nice to walk around but the tour was nonexistent. Not worth the money!
We enjoyed our day at Mount Vernon. Although it rained nonstop, we found fewer people at the estate than usual. Bobby, our driver, made the trip there a history lesson, and the cute jokes and puns brought smiles and chuckles from those of us in the van. Once on site, the docents gave wonderful insight into the later years of George and Martha Washington. The restaurant, with its cafeteria-style dining, was delicious and offered plenty of choices.
This is NOT a tour! The tour was literally a bus uber/lyft. We were dropped off and given our tickets and told to return to the bus at 3:00 pm. We were "on our own" at Mt. Vernon. NO TOUR. Just given the ticket. THAT is not a tour! Yes. The bus driver ("tour" guide) spoke to us in transit, both coming and going, and, while knowledgable, mostly spoke about everything BUT Mt. Vernon. In addition, he was kind of cranky, asked who were were about 10 times (during his constant headcount), honked his horn a lot, and coughed quite a bit. I started to wonder if I was going to leave his tour bus sick. True. Again - information wise, he knew quite a bit and that was nice, but I think he would be better served in a different setup. Moreover, the most disappointing aspect of this "tour" is that is was NOT a tour!. Therefore, once we were dropped off and given our tickets, we were on our own for a self-guided experience. My husband and I had a great time at Mt. Vernon, but it was NOT due to Viator setting up our tour. It was due to our own efforts to discover Mt. Vernon on our own. Even more upsetting was we met my sister and her husband there. They did not pay for a tour like we did but hooked up with a tour when then got there and received way more information about Mt. Vernon than we did. Again. We had a good time at Mt. Vernon but it was due to our own efforts and NOT this "non" tour that is deceptive in its description as being a tour. It is a bus ride to and from with a drop-off and providing you a ticket to "go explore and tour Mt. Vernon on your own."
On a sunny day the grounds are spacious and lovely. The home is old and gorgeous. The dining room is great for crab soup and corn bread!
Driver/Robert very knowledgeable of subject matter and tour highlights. Been to DC twice and this is the first time I’ve seen the Iwo Jima monument!
Nice to get away from the city and into a beautiful site along the Potomac River. Very nicely restored home and grounds. Everyone knowledgeable and friendly!
We understood that we would be stopping in Alexandria for a short time, not just driving through. On the way back, we asked that we be let off to meet family. We then lyfted it back.. The actual tour of Vernon was good, too much construction and yard rehabing for my taste however.
Mt Vernon was great!! Our van driver/tour guide not so good. He talked A LOT & not about sights very much. He was a bit combative & erratic. His train of thought was sorely lacking. He’d go off on tangents about his personal life, cutting remarks to passengers.
Our driver/guide was very punctual and knowledgeable. He was also very entertaining. The tour was informative. The only downside was the rain.
I loved my driver!! Great tour!
It was a great tour. The drive there through Alexandria was really nice. Great town I would live to go back and visit. Your was well organized and we had plenty of time to tour the house and grounds. It is a beautiful plantation and learned a lot of history about George and Martha Washington. Our driver, Robert, was awesome. He was very personable and humorous and was very well educated in his history of DC overall and if Mount Vernon specifically. I would highly recommend this tour.
Mount Vernon was beautiful and worth seeing it. My problem was with our guide. He wore a t shirt that was sexually explicit, showing two people engaging in a very disgusting sexual act. I was embarrassed to be seen with him. The shirt was not only vulgar and disgusting, but totally inappropriate as a guide on a trip and a terrible representative of this business. I was grateful there were no children on this tour. The bus also had many broken seat belts.
Easy to book tour to explore Mount Vernon house and grounds. Ideal if you are in DC with no car and want a visit to somewhere nearby that will add to your understanding of the history of this part of the world. With our friendly informative guide this was a great half day trip.
3 hours is enough time to get an overview. Alot to see. Theater experience is entertaining and informative. Driver was entertaining but van was rough. Exhibit is well worthwhile.
at time of shuttle ride to mt v, i experienced a mild stroke. i was transported to the hosptial from mt v at pull up site. i never got to see or be there, my bucket list of all the places i wanted to visit most in dc area
Family friendly and nice outdoor walk, beautiful wooded area. Very informative movie on Washington's life.
Great tour. Driver was excellent. He turned us loose at Mt Vernon and we did the tour of the property on our own. Easy to walk the grounds. We took the golf cart type of vehicle down to the Wharf. Highly recommend taking the cart. Try the Peanut soup in the restaurant. The driver returned at exactly the time he said. Drove us thru Alexandria. Nice place to visit on your own Definitely worth the money.
Great guide! You definitely should head straight for the house if you want to see the inside. The line was pretty long, but it moved fairly quick. The restaurant was good.
Great tour of Mount Vernon! The driver and tour guide, Robert, was very friendly and knowledgeable. He pointed out many sights along the drive to and from Mt. Vernon and had many interesting stories to share. Our party of 4 women sat in the back row of the van and it was a bit hard to hear him even though he had a microphone headset. The air conditioning return vent was positioned near us and blew loudly causing us to not be able to hear him well. He tried to raise the volume and it was some better. Great day of sight seeing and would recommend!
Mount Vernon itself was nice, but boarding for this tour was upsetting. The staff member checking tickets couldn’t find my name despite my showing him the QR code, then asked where we were from. Another staff member touched my back to push me forward without asking, and when I objected, brushed it off by saying I was just pushing you so that you can enter the van. Then, as my mom and I boarded, he asked my dad “who are you with?” — even though our ticket clearly showed 3 people and it was just the three of us. No other group was treated this way; we noticed because we boarded first. I’ve taken many Viator tours across Brazil, Croatia, Morocco, and Italy, and never felt singled out like this. It felt like discrimination, and I can’t recommend this operator.
Great trip worth the cost guide knowledgeable although would have liked to spend more time there lots to see would visit again if we visited the us again
Excellent tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He shared many stories of history and showed us a lot of historic sights. He drove us through Old Alexandria on the way back from Mt. Vernon and took us by the Iwo Jima Memorial and stopped for photos. I was very impressed with his knowledge. Mount Vernon was beautiful and all the guides were knowledgeable. Be sure to pick up the free audio guide when you arrive. I highly recommend this tour. We had a great time!
