End of day had to change bus and waited about 12 minutes for another driver
It was a great experience and Tianee did a great job driving us around.
We really enjoyed our evening tour! A big reason why we did this one was of the live tour guide and Rey (sp?) was awesome! Beverly got us all checked on for the tour with a positive and delightful manner. I will say the driver was going a bit fast past the Pentagon and Iwo Jima memorial- so fast I couldn’t take pics which was disappointing. But once we got to Georgetown the pace was much better. Our guide had so many great stories and little jokes - she really was awesome. The time to explore the MLK and Lincoln Monuments in our own (30 minutes) was the perfect amount - and I got fabulous photos there! Overall it was a great evening! TBH, I was a bit worried as during the day we did the Big Bus Tour and it was just okay. The recordings were pretty superficial and disappointing. Plus we had to wait a LONG time between busses. In addition, there were many detours and many spots the bus skipped. It would have been okay if we had live guides, but the recordings did not make up for the missed stops and delays. I’m sooo relieved the night tour was excellent!
Xavier was our contact for purchasing tickets at the spy museum. He was professional and knowledgeable but also assisted us with all our questions as we are from Australia. Cheers Xavier,... Tim and Stacey
Vernon was an amazing guide for our Big Bus tour. We learned a lot and got to see the city without walking more n
Our tour guide Vernon and driver Santo were just the best! Vernon was very knowledgeable about every area we drove around and added humor to our tour, it was a highlight of our trip!!
Took the night tour this weekend and had a great time. Excellent way to end a long day of walking and see the city from a different perspective. The Korean memorial and USAA military monument, in particular, were particularly impactful and moving. The tour guide, Rae, was fun and knowledgeable, and elevated the entire experience; she clearly knows and loves her city. The driver, Marcus, was conscientious and navigated some difficult traffic situations smoothly and safely making for a seamless ride. Definitely recommend opting for a tour with a live operator vs. the recorded version for a particularly enjoyable experience.
Awesome night tour. Pretty easy to order online.
Devon and Greg were fantastic guide and driver.
Fantastic experience. We saw so much and to see all the monuments at dusk/dark was spectacular. Thank you so much to Devaugn and Greg for making this experience one to remember.
It’s fun, guide is personable, knowledgeable and sites are very interesting. Focus on American civil rights history is fascinating.
Great evening tour. The guide was entertaining and friendly.
A wonderful way to see Washington DC at dusk. Lights of the city, memorials etc are great! Bring a sweater it gets a little windy at the top of the bus.
Look out for Cameron. He is an excellent open-top bus guide. He is so friendly and helpful. Even though the bus tour was finished for the evening he made sure we knew how we could get back to our hotel. Such a lovely and generous person. Thank you Cameron.
Guid Vernon was knowable & entertaining
Very unorganized at meet point
The meeting place is incorrect on the directions (it is actually across the street) - started off wildly disorganized and the bus employees who were in charge of the queue were rude - accusing of us not waiting in line etc - once the tour started it was excellent - Nur is by far the most engaging, knowledgeable, and charismatic tour guide we have ever encountered!
Great tour easy to get tickets should go for a great tour on a trip
We enjoyed it from beginning to end! Very educational and informative! And the key sites we saw! Glad we came
The Sunset Tour on August 26th was the highlight of my trip. The driver was wonderful and friendly, and the tour guide explained everything so well and was very kind . I was deeply moved by how respectfully the tour guide explained the Korean War and Lincoln Memorials. The guide used a glowing plastic stick, so it was super easy to follow our group at night. Unfortunately, the audio on the bus had kind of static. I recommend the night tour!
Never have I ever experienced DC this way. It was an exceptional experience.
August 2026 This review is about the Big Bus Tour Washington DC. I flew all the way from Europe and this tour was topmost on my things to do in Washington DC list. I did not know that there were road closures due to the motor car race that weekend. We booked for two persons and got a confirmation, assuming everything would run to the plan laid out for us in the confirmation. I could not be more disappointed with the service. Frankly disgusted. We got there at L'enfant Plaza at 6.30pm as instructed and waited over an hour for the bus. It never showed. We called the tour bus' number. No answer. We looked for signs. Nothing. We looked for a staff member to guide us. Nobody. It would have been more than helpful if the confirmation had shown us where the stops were closed. There were 9 other people there waiting and we all had no clue how the organisers could be so inept as to not even bother to give us accurate, up to date information. In the meantime, we contacted Tripadvisor and were told that vendor is not reimbursing the money. For a trip we never took. You would think they would have contingencies in place. We would appreciate a refund. WE FEEL SCAMMED.
Sharia was awesome! Knowledgeable answers questions Is fun
Sharia was the best driver of all of them. Wonderful service
This was wonderful. We were blessed with a nice night. Ms. Gail did a great job driving. So patient. Mr GoGo is a great storyteller. We had a great time with our kids.
We had a great tour with our guide Mona and driver Tony. They did a great job navigating around the closed streets due to the Indy 250 race. Very friendly and informative. We chose the open air, top floor for our tour.
Most of the staff was very helpful! The employees at the bus stop were friendly and very knowledgeable, particularly Brandon, B and Andrew. Unfortunately, one of the bus drivers failed to letus know that the bus would not be stopping at several major sites due to road closures. The entire deck of the bus had no idea whatwas going on and we’re confused why we were driving around in circles. In addition, the narration was incorrect and did not always match our route. That was also confusing. Overall, I do love the idea of the hop on and hop off bus. Except, with these inconveniences, it just didn’t feel worth the $200.
The bus audio didn’t work so we had to switch buses and got a late start but otherwise good. Guide didn’t know name of movie Exorcist and called it Exodus as far as stairs in Georgetown. And a few other misinformed moments. But fun at night and better than walking.
Great experience. I love the bus ride. Will definitely recommend to someone else visiting
Very good and helpful. Clear understanding through verbal communication
Great experience. Tour guide was a little more eccentric than we have experienced but nice and enjoyable experience.
This tour was a huge disappointment from start to finish. We were confused about which bus to board. The tour was marketed as an open-top bus but our bus had a roof. If I knew that ahead of time, I would have cancelled my tickets. The tour guide was so bad I had to take my earphones out. It was basically 2.5 hours of really bad amateur stand-up comedy. I couldn’t wait for the tour to be over. If it were a free tour I would have been disappointed, but I paid $130 so I’m so far beyond disappointed. Zero stars.
We had a wonderful time! Sharice was our driver. Very pleasant and patient. We had many elderly people and she was very helpful assisting them on and off the bus!!
Great for sightseeing and to see everything in one tour! The pickup was difficult because we were sent away (even though we were early and had tickets), then hollered at to come back. It worked out in the end, but it was a bit strange.
Definitely a must do in DC. It was worth it and the evening time it wasn’t so hot.! Great bus driver & speaker! Bravo!
Fabulous experience. Best way to see DC. Gerard D who was stationed at the Lincoln Memorial was so friendly and professional. He represents Big Bus really well.
The bus repeatedly broke down and we changed busses 3x. Sounds system didnt work well. Did appreciate the positive attitude of our tour guide Nur.
Devaughn was the bestia thank you so much for all of your help hes the best
The Big Bus Sunset Tour is an absolute must-do. It's a two-hour tour that goes more in-depth and visits different locations than the standard hop-on, hop-off tour, so it is 100% worth doing both. Our tour guide was fantastic—so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the city. He truly made the entire experience unforgettable. I highly, highly suggest booking this!
Great way to see a bit more than your hotel and the surrounds. The monuments weren't crowded at that time of the evening
The wait for boarding seemed very long. It was almost 7 by the time we started to board, having arrived before 6:30 to get in line. The bus was late leaving, seemed a little disorganized.
Eh. Hoping to have seen more monuments. Visited 2. Drive past a few. Guide was good. Bus driver great.
Such a great alternative to sightseeing and seeing the monuments! If you can, try and get Mr. Gogo’s bus - he’s a great story teller and very knowledgeable.
Really great tour! Tour guide (whose name means light) was utterly fantastic. We got stuck in traffic and he never ran out of interesting things to tell us. He was so enthusiastic - even in the crazy heat. I felt like we could have done a whole other tour right afterwards and he would have had more information to share - all different. It's clear he's passionate about the city and the country. Special thanks, too, to the driver, Ms Gale - for driving that huge bus in some of the craziest traffic I've seen (it was July 3rd, during the 250th celebration and many roads were closed). 10/10 would recommend.
But our guide was amazing!! Due to traffic barriers for the 4th we were not able to get complete tour experience. The route and view of the city were fantastic.
Our guide was very entertaining and informative. The city was beautiful after dark. We loved seeing the monuments and learning some of the history.
The meeting place to board was not properly indicated and had we heard people who were passing saying that the bus was in a different location we would have missed the tour. We came an hour in advance by taxi even though we had a car and was there two hours prior and weren’t sure of where the meeting place was. A tour of two and a half hours should have more comfortable seats
Not worth the price for the technical difficulties that occurred and the language used by the guide including the politically charged language that created tension amongst the rest of the guests and added negativity to my experience.
Tajon Fox was very helpful and professional. Bus tour was great, a little warm due to being June but was a good tour.
