took forever to pickup between stops, made us switch busses for a “private” event just for the second bus to not even have audio the first half of the ride. terrible experience. also bus driver is terrible, crashing into trees and branches

Really great experience with Lena, Carlos, and Devaugn!
Great experience overall. Lena and Hai were great tour guides and helpful
Lena Hai was great for advice. Trip was great. Sunset tour with Vernon and Joe was entertaining. Loved it. Comfortable and informative.
There were not enough busses coming was able to get on twice. Lena was a pleasure though.
Lena was very nice and helpful! A joy to talk to!
The man at the Washington Monument loading stop is ideal customer service. He was kind to everyone.
Wonderful way to share Washington DC, especially if you have mobility issues or a short time to be in the city. Would do it again 10 times over!
The booking process was easy and the staff very friendly and accommodating. Our bus driver, Martin (I believe) l, went out of his way after the tour to drop us off (in the double decker tour bus) at the nearby Wharf for dinner to save the ride share. He became the ride share. Our guide, Melvin, was lighthearted and knowledgeable. He had a great sense of humor and was very engaging. His knowledge of the area was impressive and his experience working at the US Capitol added value to his explanations. I would highly recommend this company again.
Lena and Hal are so kind. We were in from out of town, parades had stopped everything and they were so kind to let us rest.
Awesome experience!! Will do it again
We used the last day of our Hop-on Hop-off ticket to visit the Lincoln Memorial and to explore that area, during a week’s visit in mid-Sep. 2026. There was a misunderstanding with the bus lines, which meant that we ended up where we started off near our hotel with limited time left on our ticket. We explained the situation to our driver, Joe Moore, who couldn’t have been more considerate in trying to help us solve the problem. Joe managed to get us on another bus going towards the Memorial and asked the driver to make sure we got there. We were very impressed by his concerned attitude and ended up having s great day.
Buses are never moving. Rude drivers. Do not expect to be able to rely on this BS company to get you around town.
The bus was there on time, the crew was friendly. Shout out to Lena! Greg! Hai! And Sharia! I'm alone in the city but they made it feel like h ome!...they made the extra effort and I really appreciate it!
This was a great trip seeing so many legendary places. The audio guide was really interesting too. Sharia got the tour off to a great start with her sunny personality, really setting a cheerful tone. She was lovely and very informative, listening to our silly tourist questions with great patience. Highly recommended!
Oh my goodness. Lena @ Hai were the best. They helped us find the quickest way to get to our destination.
Incredibly unorganised, missold on waiting time between buses. Routes were random and didn’t follow the correct route and buses seem to mix between the blue and red route without and warning so ended up missing 30% of the attractions
Excellent way to see all the sites in DC. There are two routes but one tickets gets you both routes. This is the best way to see all the monuments as they are not located close together. The blue route will also take you to Arlington Cemetery which is a must see in my opinion. Our driver was super helpful and helped us locate the best Metro station to take us directly back to our hotel at the end of our day. I highly recommend.
The buses were exactly what we were looking for to see what we wanted to see and get around the city. The sunset tour was beautiful. Our issue was that the frequent comments from the tour guide insulting and ridiculing our current administration, and clearly highlighting his political leanings, made us increasingly more uncomfortable over the course of our tour. Your politics should be absent from your professional setting.
The Night time tour is the Best!! You have to get the bus with Nonna and Mrs. Gail! Nonna is a wealth of knowledge! Very funny and takes you all around and gives the most amazing talks about each stop!! Mrs. Gail got us in and out of all the best places! Those two as a team are amazing! You go all over and through the monuments and even went to Georgetown! The night tour is so good! The Bug Bus came in handy, at so many stops just in the nick of time when we were hit and exhausted! The headphones and commentary was perfect for our rides all around town! Devaughn is your BEST worker to us!! He talked and told us all about the Best places to eat all around! He was extremely personable and knowledgeable about his buses!! He was the hype man for all the buses that stopped while we were waiting for the red bus!! Everyone was calling his name! He had everyone on the right bus and helped answer every question! He is a great multitasker!! He is an asset to your business!
Marquis, Lena and Miracle, I thank you for your professionalism and generosity. You folks definitely know how to roll out D.C. for visitors. Blessings Galore!
Miracle, Lena, Devaugh and Marquise. Thank you for the great experience we had a great time.
If I could give zero stars I would. Terrible service, incorrect advice, no audio for tours. What a rip off. Find something else to use, seriously. I purchased three day ticket and was unsuccessful ALL three days.
Terrible all around! Couldn't discover crap on the "discovery" tour. The website told is one address, near the Japanese Memorial, when the pickup was down the street in front of the damned "Yotel"! I was with an elderly family member and we had to walk to the friggin bus! Bus was boiling hot, no ventilation, no a/c. Bus
Devaughn was very helpful and knew his stuff.
No air-conditioning. No stop announcements. Rude driver. Difficult to find stops.
Honestly is was a waste of money it was extremely hot 91 and humid and none of the buses we were on had working A/C. The audio was not very informative. A gentleman beside us was a better tour guide. Sunset tour would have been good if the audio was better. I couldn’t understand what she was saying. It was muffled.
Ridiculous… we purchased the tour but were not able to find the bus. The stops are not well marked and the bus does Not run frequently. Do not buy advance tickets online! I will be pursuing a refund.
Sharia was an amazing driver and was so happy to be one the job! She did a great job communicating with the passengers.
The bus tour was very informative and interactive. The driver and other Big Bus Staff were very helpful and kind. Especially Lena Etiene, was awesome and informed us very well
It was good overall. But they didn't explain blue bus changing to red and vice versa. Also the website doesn't explain that sun set tour is different from hop on hop off. So I paid for 3 days instead of 2 days that I needed. I tried to contact customer care and they said to me it takes time to see if I get my money back or not. My drivers and guides were great and did a good job of guiding us. Esp Ebenezer at the monument and Tena the driver. The other 3 drivers were also good.
We enjoyed the first few stops but the prerecorded information was kind of boring and the same music over and over again was bad. We were told that buses run every 15 to 25 minutes but when you used the app to track buses the wait was closer to 45 minutes. By that time we could have walked or taken an uber which we ended up doing. The staff was friendly and the bus was clean.
Sharia was a great driver. Great for the price. Rode for 2 days
Very happy with this tour! It hit all of our must see places and the audio guide was informative. Very friendly and helpful staff, Tajon Fox helped me with my tickets and spent time detailing out what I was to expect on the tour. He also made sure my mother - who was in a wheelchair- was able to navigate the bus. In fact he walked her to the bus himself to ensure we knew what to do. Great customer service!!
Lena was amazing and very friendly. Made our day and guided us on how to traverse the lines.
This was really great , we saw a lot more than we would have if we decided to walked. Brandon B was very professional , informative, and helpful, we are so happy we decided to ride the Big Bus.
Tajon Fox The best employee you have!!
The bus was very crowded, so had to sit downstairs, where only a couple of windows opened. So it was very hot, due to no air blowing out of the a/c ducts. We finally got off and caught another bus, which had a few open seats up top. That made a ton of difference in not only seeing better, but not burning up. They changed driver's on us, which took a good 20 minutes of sitting while they walked around. Felt like they were in no hurry to complete our tour.
Bus stops were difficult to find on busy city streets. There was no AC on a couple buses we rode and very little on others. The drivers weren’t very friendly or helpful either. Even with the app, the stops were hard to navigate because the bus doesn’t exactly let you off at a museum or monument but in the area. It’s not the easiest for people not familiar with the area. Last night, we rode the Old Town Trolley. It was much better in my opinion.
devaughn was amazing thank zou so much great service
This was my first time visiting Washington, D.C., and taking the Big Bus Tour completely made my trip. It is a fantastic hop-on, hop-off tour that stops right by all the major museums and government buildings, making it incredibly easy to see the sights at your own pace. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every single person—from the drivers to the staff stationed at the stops—was incredibly nice and helpful. A special shoutout to Sharia, who was absolutely great to talk to and gave wonderful advice on getting around the city. I highly suggest taking this tour if you want a seamless, stress-free way to experience D.C.!
This review is about the Big Bus Tour Washington DC. Let me premise that we booked a tour on July 3. This was a 4th of July weekend and security was very tight a lot of roads were blocked and on top of that the weather forecast was 100+ more degree days. With that said we are extremely disappointed with the service. The main reason I booked this tour is for my 82 year old mother. I did not want her walking in this weather and the hop on hop off would have been great. It would have been nice if the app showed where the stops were closed. The 2 stops we went to were closed and the stop that was open we had to wait over an hour. While we were waiting for the Big bus we saw 4 trolley bus stop by and pick up their passengers. When we finally boarded we had to stay on the top deck because it was full. To make matter worse and I am not sure why they had to move us to another bus (the bus was operational) so we have to wait again. I am not sure what happened that day but I would think this company have contingencies and would adopt to the changes. It was just terrible service and planning. I would like to get a refund please!
This company has good reviews, but our experience was a disaster. We’re bought tickets for July 2nd-4th. After paying, they notified me that the 4th wasn’t operating. I then ordered an extension for the 5th. They notified me after that that most of the stops on route were closed do to the holiday. Then they moved my entire 72 hour pass to 7/5-7/7 without notice, so when we went to activate our ticket on 7/2, it wasn’t there any longer. I tried to reach an agent through their chat feature, but didn’t hear back from someone until hours later. By then, we had made other plans. We left to go back home on 7/6. Very disappointed.
Sunset tour was terrible. Only cemetery seen as driver took a detour, got stuck under a low bridge, all lights failed and he dangerously drove us back in the dark, missing all sights. Lucky we did not crash! Police had to attend Photos showed what we saw driving the streer.
We did the Sunset Tour. The driver used GPS to take a different route. Ended up in front of a low bridge, we had to wait for police escort, then all lights failed and he drove back to meeting point in pitch black. We did not see the sights at all. Disgraceful & dangerous should have got us a different bus
Devaughn was great thank you for your info and service
Devaughn was the best he kept up with us and gave as really good info thank you
No way to communicate questions that needed answering. Drop offs were based on traffic conditions not designated spots which meant we had no idea where we'd be picked up...consequently we were not picked up. Had to chase down the bus in 100 degree weather. No air in bus or air flow so we were all soaking wet when we got off. Absolutely miserable experience. Not worth 50 bucks let alone the $375.00 it cost me.
Horrible! Stops were not where they were supposed to be and not marked. Buses were not air conditioned, and it was 103 degrees. This was supposed to climate controlled!!! Thats why i picked it! When we got on the bus we waited 30 min with no air then the bus would not move. The transmission went out! We never even went anywhere! I was with my 74 year old father and this was a huge health risk for him. So we ended up taking an uber everywhere! I paid nearly $400.00 and would like a refund!!!! When we got to Arlington there was a hop on hop off bus employee there. They were offering refunds due to the issues and numerous complaints but because i booked through a third party he couldnt refund me!!!
Our driver was good but our guide was anti Trump and it was obvious. She should keep her political opinions to herself. It left a bad impression on our group of six.
