We did the 15 stop trolley the first day and the same trolley with Arlington added the second day. It gave us the idea of what we wanted to do, while still seeing the highlights. Getting off the trolley is the only way to get close to the attractions. That requires quite a lot of walking. There’s so much to see in the DC area. We decided we’d just have to make trips back there and pick what we wanted to explore. The trolley was a good starting point and most of the narrators were enjoyable plus knowledgeable.

Good overview of national mall monuments and buildings. Company representatives were friendly and helpful. Arlington Cemetery was worth the extra trip planning.
This is a great way to get an overview of the city! Lady B (Barbara) was a GREAT tour guide and driver!
Barbara is a fantastic tour narrator. They all are impressive drivers Bernie was very good also and some of the tight places she navigated were great
More than a 20 minute wait between trolleys. Arlington trolley was worth the ride. In and around DC would only allow for 1 or 2 sites as the trolley was unreliable timewise. If they are going to state 20 minutes for pick ups, need to add more trolleys.
I lived in the area for ten years altogether, and this was my first tour of DC. I brought a friend who is a second-time visitor, and we were both quite satisfied.
Well organized. Plenty of stops. Trolleys are well visible and on time.
Duke was our tour guide! He had a wonderful speaking voice and a wealth of knowledge. This tour was our favorite thing to do while in DC for the weekend. Well worth the $$$!
First stop was Library of Congress, which had to be at least 3/4 of a mile away from where we we were dropped off. I have a husband with a disability and cannot walk very far. We needed to Uber back to the hop off area. We received very little information on specifics and were completely dependent on strangers help. Our first driver spoke so fast, most information was lost. There's alot more, but you get the picture. I will never use this company again.
One of our drivers was a gal named Birdie. She was great and very knowledgeable. We rode the complete loop first then hopped off at the sights we had time to explore. Very nice tour
Great tour !! Would do it again. Love that you can jump on and off.
Not enough time since first pickup wasn't until noon. Then we got off at the Capitol driver told us where pickup was. We were standing there and 2 busses just drove past us.
Great way to see Arlington Cemetery with limited time. It was easy to hop on and off and spend time visiting the different areas of the cemetery. I would highly recommend this tour
Covered a lot of Washington. Driver's were very well informed and entertaining. Will definitely do this again
We were excited about our first visit to DC and riding the Hop On Hop Off trollies. It was a great way to get around the city to see the sights. We opted to add the tour of Arlington National Cemetery which is where the experience turned bad. We left the Lincoln Memorial shortly after 2:00 for the cemetery on a separate trolley service. By the time we made it back to the Lincoln Memorial to resume our tour, it was 5:15. The last Hop On Hop Off trolley left that site at 4:45. We needed to get a cab back to Union Station where we parked our car. At Arlington Cemetery, we only visited the Kennedy burial site. The trams only come by every half hour and we were stuck there for over an hour as the first tram that came through was full. We missed seeing the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the changing of the guard, and Arlington House as we needed to hurry back try and catch the last trolley leaving the Lincoln Memorial. This was our first visit to DC and our last. It will long be remembered but not fondly.
Hop on Hop off is a good way to see the sights! We had only one day and did a few Monuments and were able to see Arlington National Cemetery. The Cemetery was an additional cost over what we originally paid for. We’ve used these tours as information and transportation in major cities!
It is very easy to hop off, visit any of the sites and hop back on when you are ready! And try Liberty Lemonade! It is fabulous and refreshing!
Tour guide was good in Washington area. The wait time for the Arlington cemetery tour trolley to take us from Lincoln memorial was over 1/2 hour at the Lincoln memorial. I was tracking the trolley and it was just sitting at Arlington not moving over 20 minutes not moving. Was very irritated since they said maximum 20 minute wait. I ended up skipping the Kennedy grave site due to there tardiness.
It’s a very nice tour, our driver was very friendly, funny and knowledgeable. I would definitely do it again. However, the app doesn’t give you the stop locations so can know where to go to hop on/off. I had to call the company to ask.
I was visiting DC and booked my day trip with the tour operator directly at the corner gift shop. I was told it would pick up in just minutes, 16 mins later it picked up. Then as the day went on, I would hop off and then back on to wait sometimes 30 plus minutes. Once to Arlington Cemetery, I had to call and ask when pick up would be because I had waited nearly 40 mins and once again I was told it would arrive in just mins, it was another 14 mins before it arrive. Way too long! Felt I wasted most of my day waiting, I could have Uber and saved money. Very disappointed.
We had a great driver, guide, Barbara
Excellent. Tour guide was very knowledgeable both at Arlington and the main DC tour. Got to see changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Good way to discover the city and get around. They needed more trams in the Arlington cemetery because we had to wait a while for the next tram. When we got back to DC, it took almost an hour for the final trolley to pick us up. I would recommend doing this tour on your first day in town to get a lay out of the city.
The drivers were wonderful, personable and knowledgeable! We were stranded at the Arlington drop off for over an hour with no communication available, an update on the website would have been more helpful. The wait times for stops were well over 20 minutes which cut out sites we were able to see by 1/2🫤
Overall, a good experience. Would prefer more signage at some of the stops, like the Lincoln Memorial stop could not tell where I should meet them. All the guys are very helpful.
This is a great way to see the city plus Arlington Cementery. Start early towards Arlington before you get to the other stops. One day is not enough though. Enjoyed the trip and all the tour bus drivers are very knowledgeable. Mind your time when going on stops.
It would be good to know if you don’t start the tour before 2 pm, you cannot do the Arlington Tour which is included in ticket price.
If you wait for the Arlington trolley it is a long wait. Eats up a large chunk of time. Start the tour right away in the morning or you will run out of time.
If you get off the bus at each location and spend time at each attraction you will not have time to do it all in one day.
The drivers were very knowledgeable about Washington DC. They were safe & you could tell they love their jobs!
I had a really good time on the bus. The drivers are very knowledgeable and funny. I learned so many things by a i didn’t know about our nations capital
There was no experience we spent over two hours at two different stops trying to board the trolley that never came. I wanted to take this to her because my husband is not good in his health or walking and this is a way to see Washington DC where my husband didn’t have to do a lot of walking, and that opposite happened, we walked and walked and walked to try to find the trolley at different stops and finally gave up and ordered a lift to take us back home I was excited to take this tour and it was a total disaster, and I will never book it again.
This was a great way to get around to a lot of sites without having to walk so much. I did appreciate that they picked us up at a stop that was close to our hotel instead of making us go the starting point. We had 3 different narrators but each of them were good and were very friendly. The transfer to the Arlington shuttle went very smooth and they did a great job also. The shuttle in Arlington gave us a really good overview of interesting facts about this cemetery and made 4 stops to allow us to get off and visit the most iconic grave sites. We even got to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. That was very moving. It was definitely a worthwhile activity, especially if you only have a day or two to visit DC.
Don't go when there are dignitaries in DC! The drivers were wonderful and patient only so much they could do. We should have been given the option of canceling. We waited over an hour to get on the bus at Union Station. Given partial tour of city, too many streets closed to see everything. Did not have time to get off to enjoy any of the museums because we had to get to Arlington (which we paid for separately) that took up a big chunk of our time (well worth it!) Yes, we could have seen the outdoor memorials, but how much would we have had to pay to get back to Union Station? We barely made the last tram from Arlington to Union Station & that took well over an hour to maneuver through the city full of rush hour, traffic & road closures. Again, the drivers did their best in a terrible situation!
Plan your day by getting to Union Station SUPER early! We drove around the parking garage nearly 30 minutes before finding a spot. However, the tour was amazing! We did not get to do the Cemetery, which I did pay extra for, due to running out of time. We started the tour at 10:30, and got on the last trolly at stop 15 at 4pm. I wish there was a two day ticket available. However, the Guides were great! And we enjoyed seeing so many of the places.
Quick over view of DC. Unfortunately when we were there the Mall was blocked by a grandstand used for the RAF and there were detours due to the security measures in place. I would choose this again when it was all accessible.
Apart from the rain it was a really good experience. We got to hear 4 different drivers on the route, all drawing from their own unique perspective. Birdie was especially engaging! Even with the rain we would recommend sitting by a window without the plastic pulled down. It makes for a better picture taking experience.
Check local schedule of events that might interfere with tour—road closures, renovations, holiday hours.
Great tour ; received insightful information that we would not have had. Excellent way to have an overview of the sights ..this was the best for Arlington cemetery
The cut off at 3:45 is a bit of a bummer. We would have like to take a loop around and the get off. But with the timing and driver encouraging us to get off so we “don’t waste time” it was a weird vibe. Also, the driver was a great tour guide so we would liked more time with that.
Wait times to be picked up are significant longer than expected. In the Arlington Cemetery stops, there were multiple tour buses that took all the seats. Multiple times it was the second or third tram to come by before we got on. Wait times for these multiple times was 30 to 45 minutes.
Very easy experience for my friend and me . We are in our. 80’s and the whole tour was good. We stopped and got off to admire. Our. Favorite memorials, saw the changing of the guard in its emtirety (no rush thru at Arlington) Rewarding experience the whole tour. Friendly drivers, tour guides and other personnel..Looking foreword to cherry time.would book again.
Tour was as described. There was some confusion about the pickup spot to begin the tour. Just wish the final tour was a little later in the day.
couldn't find a place for pickup after a couple hours dealing with the ai program finally got paid with someone only to be told today they are idly operating from 12 to 4 not 9-4 which was all over the website no emails about anything nothing
It was wonderful!!! So much to see and we had such a wonderful time. We had Rooster as our tour guide on 2 separate legs of our trip. He was always very friendly and upbeat both at the beginning if the day and at the end of the day, extremely knowledgeable, eat to understand and a pleasure to interact with! Would definitely try to go with him again.
Can choose to stop and visit sights on your own. Can just stay in trolley as you please . Guides very accommodating especially to those with wheelchairs .
After being on the bus and just left Lincoln monument was told stop 14 was canceled. Not sure why we were not told this up front. We would have changed the stops we got off of. Stop 14 was one of the major reason we booked. If we had known this we would have gotten off and went to Arlington.
James our tour guide and Chris the driver were an excellent team and the tour could not have been better. Other than the park service conducting a movie on the grounds of The Lincoln Monument, which we thought was rather disrespectable, the tour could not have been better. Great comminication throughout the process. James is a knowledgeable tour guide who I suspect has a back ground in history teaching or research. He is very personable and we enjoyed our time with him very much. I have visited Washington many times over my life time and still learned a great deal from James! Cannot recommend this tour enough!
Excellent tour and I enjoyed it. The Guide was very knowledgable .
There was none from my 21-point+Arlington Cemetery tour operator at the Union Station. Then I had to take the 15-point Old Town bus and get to their Stop 10 to transit to Arlington. It was a chaos overall.
