Itinerary
Your tour begins at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center, the grand underground gateway to the Capitol. Located beneath the East Front plaza, it features Emancipation Hall, exhibits on the history of Congress, a original plaster model of the Statue of Freedom, and where your guide checks in your reserved-entry tickets before you head into the Capitol itself.
Step inside the Library of Congress with your reserved-entry tickets included. Explore the breathtaking Thomas Jefferson Building, one of the most beautiful interiors in Washington, DC, with its ornate ceilings, grand staircases and stained glass. See the priceless Gutenberg Bible on display, and look down into the domed Main Reading Room from the visitor overlook as your guide shares the story of the world's largest library.
Enter the US Capitol Building with your reserved-entry tickets included. Stand beneath the soaring dome in the magnificent Capitol Rotunda, surrounded by historic paintings and statues, then continue into National Statuary Hall and the Crypt. Your guide shares the stories of American democracy, landmark legislation, and the art and architecture that fill this working home of Congress.
Stand before the majestic marble facade of the Supreme Court of the United States, the highest court in the nation. No tickets are required to enter. Your guide explains how the Court works, the landmark cases decided here, and the meaning behind the famous "Equal Justice Under Law" inscription. Explore the Great Hall and, when the Court is not in session, look inside the historic Supreme Court Chamber (courtroom) where the nine Justices hear oral arguments.
