An amazing experience everyone should have! I was captivated by the military precision and the respect everyone gave the sacred ground.

Highly recommend the trolley tour. Allow for at least 3-4 hours if you want to see JFKs graveside/eternal flame and the changing of the guards. If you want to see more, definitely at least 4 hours. There is a lot to do!
Great time! Make sure to bring water and wear comfy shoes. Very informative. Well-run, well-organized.
Bad experience with the shouting tram operator. Will never go back. Will not recommend. Hated the entire experience. I still respect the place, but the operators are mean people for real
Great tour overall. Friendly staff and knowledgeable. Easy to access. Did wait a bit for next trolley at times.
It’s a really long way to walk if you don’t get this tour. This is a much more efficient and enjoyable way to see Arlington.
I finally got the Arlington Cemetery. The hop-on, hop-off bus was a very good way to get around. The drivers were very nice and we enjoyed their commentary. Well worth the cost for the ease of getting around.
Excellent tour of Arlington National Cemetery. The hop on/hop off ability was great. The grounds were impeccable. The tour guides were great, very knowledgeable and made the tour fun.
Very kind guide! He knew a lot of history! He challenged the children with a couple of questions to see if they listened, and they knew the answers and got a prize.
Boarded tram and once we got off at the Marines monument (Iwo Jima) we were never able to get back on the tram. We waited for well more than 3-4 trams and had to walk the entire rest of the way through. Nobody was getting off the tram to allow us to board again.
The website says there are 7 stops on weekdays but there were only 3. The boarding process was easy and the tour guide did excellent narration.
I’ve visited several times but this was 1st time using transportation around cemetery. Very useful and informative.
It was informative and convenient. It helped me see everything I wanted to see and it was comfortable.
Very interesting and moving experience Guide was very knowledgeable and I enjoyed the change of the guard ceremony
There were not enough trams moving people through the Cemetery. Then when they did show up, they were full and no one got off. We walked most of the cemetery in the beginning and then didn’t get off after the Unknown Soldier’s pick up. It was too hot to have to walk the whole park. Do not recommend. Katie on the last tram was great.
I love that we could hop on and off. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and I loved the stories about individual people.
This is by far the best way to see Arlington Cemetery and the changing of the guard at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
The tram is a must to save walking. Well worth the $20 per person. I wish it slowed down more at some of the graves
This is a great way to get around the Arlington National Cemetery and learn about the history behind it. Seeing the "changing of the guard " at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier was a very moving experience. And there are so many notable people interned there.
We LOVED our tour of Arlington. Very interesting and was intriguing to watch changing of the guard. Would definately recommend
It said you need an hour to two hours. The tram is always full. You have to wait for the next tram. We got there at two and couldn’t even stop at the last two stops due to it being ready to close at five.
Easy pick up with on and off options. Guides were very knowledgeable.
Incredibly profound and humbling experience touring Arlington. Narrators of tour inside Cemetary point out things you would never notice. Definitely worth getting off tram to see the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
We arrive and there were no lines. We immediately hopped on the trolly and began our tour. Great customer service by all employees. Well worth the visit.
Kara was an amazing tour guide! Her commentary really added to our visit.
Beautiful experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting the DC area!
Tour bus is very well organized, give great history lesson. A very moving experience to see +420,000 servicemen/ women who made the ultimate sacrifice for this great country.
It was a very emotional and informative experience with just enough time to see all the main highlights.
They had a funeral near Arlington House that ended at 2pm. Waited at Arlington House for a shuttle for a half hour. (2-230) Walked to tomb of unknown soldier and waited there. Got on a bus and sat for the “funeral” (that ended at 2pm) until 330 roasting in the sun and humidity. Kept telling the driver the funeral was over AND had two busses pass us on the route. Finally a oassing guide yelled “why are you waiting, funeral’s been over over an hour.” We finally left again… after roasting in the sun and humidity sitting on the tour shuttle for over a half hour. This tour is not cheap.
This is a great tour that I've been on multiple times over a few decades. The stories/script are somewhat changed by the current administration's muzzle on presenting inclusive history. One caveat: these tickets actually funnel you onto Arlington National Cemetery's tram/trolley tour. There's nothing wrong with that, except that it's confusing when you try to find "Historic Tours of America" in the pickup area.
It was such a beautiful experience, very inspiring and learned a lot there too!!! I’m definitely coming back the staff is very helpful!! Thank you!!
This tour was good for three out of the four sites in the cemetery that we wanted to see. However, when I booked this tour, it stated that there would be 6 to 8 stops along the route. There were only three. Consequently, since we really wanted to see the Marine Corps Memorial we had to walk from the visitor center there and back. Hot and tiring! Also, it was hard to hear the narration because the mic was full of static. It was also hard to see the graves/monuments pointed out because of the trolley speed & clarity of the narration. The signage in the park was not very clear and with the construction it didn’t make it any clearer. (I realize that construction is not the tour people‘s fault.) Overall, the tour was good, but I was a bit disappointed.
Cemetery was beautiful, but we waited an hour from a pick up at the eternal flame in 90 degree weather.
Worth getting. We have four children under 12 and it was the third day of our trip of a lot of walking. So it was nice to ride around and get some knowledge of the cemetery that you wouldn't get just walking the grounds.
Tour guides were informative and provided guests with valuable historical insight. Tram wait time can get long depending on when you hop on / off, but great experience overall.
With the size of Arlington national cemetery this is a must do. A little pricey but saves a lot of walking. My only complaint is that there are many notable graves that they just tell you about as you pass by. While waiting for a bus to show up they were telling everyone, if you don't want to wait it's only a x minute walk. I didn't pay to ride the tram only to walk. Lots of history and plenty to see.
Great experience and very informative. There really should be more trolleys, as the lines get long and you are often waiting for an extended period of time. I would recommend bringing water on this trip and having a good meal beforehand.
The tour guide, Michael, narrated very well! The tram ride was wonderful! The wait time was perfect for hopping on and off!
The tour was great. We got to see everything that we wanted to and the trams came pretty regularly. There was only one spot that didn’t have a sign and so it was difficult to know where we were supposed to go back to to meet the tram. Take a picture of your paper ticket just in case you lose it while you’re out and about. The guides were very knowledgeable about everything and they were easy to hear.
Everything was nice. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. It was extremely hot and the Arlington house wasn’t available to tour because they didn’t have any AC. I brought my mom because I had told her about the spectacular view of the city up there. They didn’t even take us up there at all. I think that was a little messed up. My mom will probably never get another chance to experience that.
It's hilly and covers a huge area, also steps. Saved a lot of walking. for us - 2 seniors but we are in good shape! Recommend. Spoke with woman who did walking tour and she said she would advise trolley!
We enjoyed the Arlington Hop on/Hop off to navigate the cemetery. The Changing of the Guard was a highlight and never disappoints! Our first narrator, Keith was outstanding but we were on for a short time with him before getting off. Our second tour guide was not good and we got lots of personal info and missed seeing certain sights we paid to see. Riding the tram is still the best way to see everything but just know your narrator may be questionable.
Prepare to spend a few hours at Arlington. Wear good walking shoes. Enjoy the spectacular views. Learned a lot.
Visiting the Arlington National Cemetery is a must do for a trip to DC. I highly recommend riding the tram through the cemetery. It is such a large space and in the heat of summer it is a much more comfortable experience. The tram tacks you by all the notable places and you can hop off and on at your own pace. The drivers also offer a lot of knowledge about the cemetery.
Long line at each stop. Sometimes hard to hear the tour guide. Not always clear where to go or where to catch the next tram. But still worth it, since Arlington is so big.
The trolley bus tour of Arlington was a comfortable and convenient way as a tourist to get around the important sites of note. The cemetery is huge and this offered us a good 1 hr trip around the highlights. Unfortunately our guide spoke too fast and it was virtually impossible most of the time to understand the narrative. It would have been helpful too for the trolley to slow down when approaching points of interest- we almost got whiplash turning to see the fourth headstone back on the third row as the driver sped fast. Slow it down a bit and provide a slower paced narration and this would have been so much better.
Even with the record temperatures the staff was great. They ensured that people were staying in the shade when possible
It was good. Trams ran regularly. Beautiful visit. Only minor issue is the tram only made three stops and we thought it made a lot more. Would don’t again bc the place is huge and it would be a LOT of walking.
Even on the hop on/hop off tour, you should plan on walking a lot! But, a wonderful experience and a wealth of information!
It was very hot when we went, and our feet were very tired from walking DC the day before so we decided on the tram. There supposed to be 6 or 7 stops. We only got 3. I had really wanted the kids to see Iwo Jima, so that was disappointing. They dont tell you this until you are on the tram. They don’t have enough trams. You can wait in the heat for over 30 minutes to reload at each stop. They also take a ridiculous amount of time loading each tram. Because of this we couldn’t even see everything we wanted to. One of our guides spoke like had marbles in his mouth. Definite improvements could be made.
