Lackluster service, hospitality is non-exisent. Don't expect a warm greeting, you won't get that here. We were never acknowledged, just cold dead stares 😂 our room was small (way smaller than we were led to believe) but clean at least. Want snacks, drinks for your room? You won't find that here. Walk half a mile to the closest store or bring em with you. Need your bags in your room asap? Haul them up yourself. Need the elevator, hope you packed patience. 😃 just take the stairs. Overall, I'd say it's more like a Motel 6 wrapped inside a cool historic building. Honorable mention. The restaurant food was really good, but again the service wasn't great. Stay here or not, it's all the same just don't say you weren't warned.

I have a soft spot for grand old hotels...if they are kept up and run well. The rooms are just a bit smaller than newer hotels, but very comfortable. The walls were actually solid and soundproof - like in the good old days. Everything worked, and the staff was awesome. Friendly, relaxed, attentive. Excellent location, especially for a business trip. Cozy dining and sitting areas. Beautiful building. Valet parking is available. There are a few historic hotels in DC. This is a gem.
I enjoyed my time here. I had a really nice 3-night stay as a solo female traveler in 08/26. Very clean! Perfect comfy bed, quiet room. Great water pressure; polite front desk staff especially Oscar at night. This hotel is old, charming, and quirky, which I loved. If you want modern and fancy, this isn’t your place. Don’t miss Rosa’s, the new diner around the corner 2 minutes away. I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Only caution: toilets are lower than usual - just FYI if you have hip or mobility issues. Not a big deal for me personally. I would stay here again.
I surprisingly enjoyed my time here. Unique hotel: over 100 years old and very "vintage" looking. Tudor style building. Rooms were modernized, clean, and cozy. Smaller hotel and rooms, however enough space for a couple. Excellent location in a walkable area.
I met friends for Afternoon Tea. The service/ wait staff were five stars but the hotel was obviously absolutely beautiful at one time, but needs updating. The dining room wasn't anything special. The tea was beautifully served and food was delicious. But, I thought at $80.00 a person, very expensive. Again, the best part of the experience was the waiter who really was fabulous.
