Riggs Washington Dc

The location is excellent, especially with a three-year-old in tow. The service is exceptional. I had a lot of requests, including scheduling housekeeping around my son's nap time, and the staff handled all of it without issue. We also needed to coordinate a car seat drop-off. Tommy/Thomas was sp wonderful and made the whole thing easy for us. Our first night, a restaurant manager went out of his way to get food up to the room quickly for our little one. Also exceptional. The only knock is the bathrooms. As other reviewers have noted, they're very tight. But the service and location more than make up for it. We'll likely stay here again next time we're in DC. Really pleased with the service and stay across the board.

My overall stay at Riggs Washington DC was good, although I wouldn’t describe it as extraordinary given the hotel’s positioning and price point. The stay started on a disappointing note. I arrived around 3:30 p.m., understanding that official check-in was at 4:00 p.m. However, well after 4:00, my room was still not ready, and there seemed to be very little communication between housekeeping and the front desk regarding when it would become available. I ultimately had to inquire three separate times before the situation was resolved. While waiting, I was directed to the hotel’s cocktail area, where I had two drinks. Given the extended wait, I do think offering to cover a cocktail would have been a nice service-recovery gesture. That said, I want to give the team credit for how they ultimately handled the situation. I was upgraded to a suite and welcomed with a glass of champagne, which was very much appreciated and certainly helped turn around the start of the stay. From that point forward, the overall experience was good. The hotel itself is beautiful, stylish, and well located, and I enjoyed my accommodations. However, for me, the service didn’t quite reach the level that would make the stay truly memorable or exceptional. With so many excellent hotels in Washington, DC at a variety of price points, I’m not certain that I would choose Riggs again. I enjoyed my stay overall and appreciated the upgrade, but I would likely explore some of the other luxury and boutique options in the area before returning.

My husband and I recently stayed at Riggs to celebrate a big family milestone! At check-in, we mentioned it was a special celebratory stay for us, and the team went above and beyond. There was a thoughtful, personalized note waiting in our room, and the staff at Riggs Restaurant and Silver Lyan all took the time to acknowledge and celebrate what this trip meant to our family. We were genuinely blown away by how intentional and caring everyone was — we felt truly seen. We visit for dinner or drinks now and then, but we save an overnight stay for moments worth celebrating. This one was no exception. Everyone made our stay feel so special, and we're incredibly grateful.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The property is beautiful, elegant, and full of charm. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming throughout my visit. The hotel café is excellent, offering delicious breakfasts that were a perfect start to each day. The location is also fantastic, with easy access to all the major museums and attractions. I would definitely stay here again the next time I visit Washington. Highly recommended!
