Although this event is long (12 hours) it is worth the time investment. Our driver was knowledgable and managed the drive very well. Our tour guide was also very knowledgeable and answered any question with great detail. Recommend this visit to everyone even those who have read about these camps and the holocaust as we learned things that are not often said. The in-person viewing of the what happened was very sombre.

Reviews
Our pick up was delayed and we had no time for coffee and snacks. Besides that which we thought was not good, however we enjoyed the whole experience even though we were hungry for something to eat.
Our visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau was profoundly meaningful, and I am very grateful that we had the opportunity to experience such an important historical site. The museum itself was powerful, sobering, and unforgettable. However, the structure of the group tour often felt rushed. We were part of a fairly large English-speaking group, with one group frequently following closely behind another, and at times we were moved quickly from one building or exhibit to the next. In a place carrying such extraordinary historical weight, I found myself wishing for more time to stand quietly, reflect, and absorb what I was seeing. The personal belongings, eyeglasses, clothing, human hair, discussions of medical experimentation, railway tracks, and barracks were deeply affecting. These are not exhibits that one simply looks at; they require time for contemplation. If I were to visit again, I would strongly consider a smaller or more personalized tour that allows more time to engage with the site and fully appreciate its historical significance. My experience with the transportation portion of the tour was more disappointing. Our driver, Oleksandr, was not especially personable, and communication about the day could have been clearer. On the way to Auschwitz, we stopped early at a gas station and convenience store for snacks and restroom use, although we had already eaten breakfast. We were not told in advance that this stop was planned. Later, when we asked whether there would be an opportunity to stop for a late lunch on the return journey, we were told there would be no additional stop and that we would need to eat whatever was available at the Auschwitz-Birkenau site. There were also several moments during the drive when the driver had to brake very abruptly, jolting us forward in our seats while reacting to traffic situations. Although no accident occurred, the repeated sudden braking made the journey feel less comfortable and less safe than I would have expected for such a long-distance tour. In addition, when one member of our original party could not attend and another person came in her place, we were required to purchase an entirely new personalized admission ticket for approximately 150 PLN. I understand that this may have been a museum policy, but the situation could have been handled with greater courtesy and clearer explanation. Overall, would I still have gone on this tour? Yes, absolutely. Visiting Auschwitz-Birkenau was an important and worthwhile experience, and I am grateful that I went. My concerns are not about the significance of the destination, but about how the experience was organized and delivered. With a smaller group, more time for reflection, clearer communication, and a more attentive transportation experience, the day could have been even more meaningful.
It’s the first I visited Poland and I joined the tour on my second day in Warsaw. It turned out that what we experienced was more than what was expected - viewing the sites / actually objects are quite different from just reading photos in the internet. The guide was very knowledgeable about the history and we found the tour very informative and mind blowing. It should be a not to be missed visit there - highly recommended for anyone who wanted to visit in person these horrible history of the past.
I got scammed by someone connected to Viator. The scammer had all my travel details from Viator and asked for an advance to purchase the museum tickets. Then the scammer disappeared.
We all need to remember what happened at these concentration camps. This experience brings it alive. It is chilling and we need to remember so it never happens again.
Very well organized, quick and efficient transport from Warsaw. Otherwise an emotionally difficult day.
Coordination from booking the tickets all the way through pickup and the round trip from my hotel to Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum was really simple and straightforward. The driver showed up on time that morning in a clean van. There were six other tourists already in the van and then we headed out. Each of us were given a bottle of water, which was nice. We made one short stop at a petrol station on the way so people could use the washroom and grab a coffee or snacks. The drive was about three hours. We were first dropped off at Auschwitz I. There is a washroom and vending machines located right out front of the museum. The guided tour there was around two hours and was all in English. The museum will give you headphones so you can hear the guide clearly the whole time, which helps since the group was probably around 30 people. There is a lot of walking, so definitely wear comfortable clothes and shoes. It was cold and overcast the day I went, so plan for that. There are also some stairs in certain parts. It was not an issue for me, but something to keep in mind. That said, I did see plenty of older visitors managing it though. After that, we had a quick washroom break and then drove a few minutes over to Auschwitz II-Birkenau. This part is even more walking since the site is massive and the ground is uneven in most places. You do not need to be super fit, but decent shoes will help a lot. You can take photos in most areas of both camps, but using your flash is prohibited and the guide will ask you not to do it several times. The guide will tell you when you are entering places where photos are not allowed at all. The Birkenau portion of the guided tour was about an hour to an hour and a half, and then we headed back to the van and made the drive back to Warsaw. There was no stop on the way back, so I would use the washroom before leaving if you need to. As far as the concentration camps go…well it is hard to find words to accurately describe how heavy it all felt on the soul. It is important to see and remember, and even more important to never allow such tragedies to happen again. I would recommend this guided trip without question to anyone.
It is a 3-5 hour ride from Warsaw. There was construction and 3 accidents along our way there. Felt like forever in the van. Once there it was very rushed, busy, and a lot of walking including up and down many staircases. Alex our driver was excellent and would give him 5 stars for his stellar driving skills and his patience with the construction and accidents. He really helped the uncontrollable situation and made the journey enjoyable.
The tour itself was very informative and provide insight on how Jews were treated. However, Alex, our driver, might have been having a bad day, or he just doesn’t like his job. He was a few minutes late picking us up, and he did apologize for that, but he didn’t say anything else unless it was to provide direction, which was limiting, or responded when asked a question. We were in the very back of the van. He didn’t say anything, didn’t ask how we were doing climate wise or if a stop was needed, which was provided in an email the night before. We ended up not stopping either way. We were at least an hour early with nothing to do with the exception of using the facilities, so not quite sure why we were in such a hurry. When we got into the van after the second stop, I finally asked that air be turned on, he showed where it was and turned it on, but we were in the back row, so we couldn't adjust, but it was better with air circulation. We were told the night before that we would arrive at 8 pm, but I believe we ended up arriving at 6:15 ish… not so bad but again no stop on the way back and I had to make a beeline to the water closet when we arrived at our hotel.
This was a well organised trip, driver was very pleasant and informative. Tour guild was extremely knowledgeable, very respectful about the victims and survivors her passionate shone through
A team of proffesionaks, creative in finding soluțions, ready to solve any problem arise, to please the clienți. Agnieszka&Mateusz, you are special people, with big hearts! Thanks for very well organizez activity!/30.10.2025
I was under the impression that the group of 7 I drove with be our own tour. We met up with other tours and there were too many people. If you didn’t walk in the front, you would hear information via headphones 2 minutes before seeing the spot that was discussed. I also had a hard time understanding the guide. I could have learned more just by reading Wikipedia. You are better off hiring a personal guide instead of this tour with at least 30 people. I am only recommending because it’s important for people to visit.
Highly recommend this experience. Driver picked us up straight from accommodation and drove us to the tour, a few hours away. Driver had tickets and tour organised making it easy for us to just walk in with our group and guide. Amazing experience, couldn’t recommend the tours and this experience more.
I was surprised to learn that booking the experience does not guarantee your visit, which is not the tour company’s fault. Auschwitz released a limited number of English speaking guides per day and you are also competing for a spot against others visiting the museum/memorial. I booked the tour over a month prior to my visit date. 3-4 days before, I got a message from Agnieszka asking me to switch days to accommodate the tour. I was unable to switch days, but she made sure I was able to get a spot to tour Auschwitz on my preferred day. I found out about 24 hours prior to my tour that I would be going. I appreciated her efforts to ensure I was able to see Auschwitz and her flexibility in assisting me. I was picked up by Adam in a van and escorted down to Auschwitz. It was a 3.25 hour drive one way and he makes as many stops as you need. Highly recommend. It is worth the price and the long day.
It is a very long day with lots of brisk walking and minimal breaks. Our driver was prompt and our guide was very informative. You need sunscreen, hat, umbrella for shade. I suggest taking lunch and maybe fruit and have it when you get there as this will be your only chance. It is very very busy and tours keep moving through. They have vending machines there with fresh sandwiches and drinks. Water is very rarely cold. Our driver provided water also but not cold.
Highly recommend this tour by car from Warsaw to Auschwitz. Driver picked me up at 6:40am from my hotel, the tour company secured the tickets to Auschwitz, there were 5 of us total on the tour in a 9 passenger van. It was about 3 1/2 hour drive and the driver Dominic was amazing. Once you arrive your driver hands you off to the tour guide and you join a larger group. That tour guide takes you through Auschwitz for about 2 hours, then you take a bus with the group to Birkenau where the tour guide again meets you and takes you on a 45 minute tour. After you meet back up with the driver and head back to Warsaw (3 1/2 drive). Recommend eating breakfast and bringing snacks because you don’t have time to eat lunch but the driver was great and stopped on the way home for us to eat.
Our driver was wonderful! He was on time and made sure we knew what to do when we arrived to Auschwitz.
What a wonderful adventure. The tour operators were very helpful and flexible with making changes to our pickup arrangements. They are experts. Special recognition to Maciek, our driver. He was spectacular! Our pickup and drop off times were within one minute of the projected schedule for our 12-hour journey. He was so pleasant, courteous, and provided all the information needed for our tour. He is a “five-star” person. Thank you also to Michal and the rest of the tour guides. Highly recommend this them when visiting Warsaw. Thank you.
From the moment we weee picked up to when we were dropped back, Kris was amazing and very good to spend the day with. Highly recommend this company and the way they looked after us.
The tour operator Kris was amazing and whilst it is a humbling experience overall to Auschwitz, Kris made it all easy for us. Thank you
Our driver was engaging and helpful, very friendly. The tour guide was informative and handled very sensitive information tactfully. I would recommend everyone see the atrocities committed so we never forget these dark days and prevent it from ever happening again.
The experience was amazing. My only complaint would be that when I booked the experience all the reviews I read said pick up was around 7-8 am. The reason I decided to pay more was for the later pickup as all the other tours started much earlier. However, we didn’t get our pickup time until the day before and it was at 4:50am. We had reservations for dinner the night before that I couldn’t cancel so we were very exhausted on the tour. We were told also that during the summer there could be pick ups as early as 3am so just be mindful of that. Other than the pick up time, the tour was great and Agnes was amazing.
Our driver went out of his way to make sure we knew what to do at each stop. We enjoyed a stimulating conversation about life in Poland. He was kind and made our long day enjoyable.
Had amazing experience to an unfortunate event that occurred in history. However, the driver was amazing. The tour guide (Mary) at Auschwitz was amazing very knowledgeable. The only thing I wish that we weren’t so rushed going through the memorial and the grounds..
While visiting Auschwitz is difficult, Oskar, our tour guide at the camp, was terrific. He is probably one of the best guides that I have had in terms of providing historical context during a tour. I highly recommend this tour for anyone seeking to learn more about this critical time in our history.
Great service. Drive Maciej was friendly and helpful, and a good source of information about Poland in general. Everything was taken care of. Pickup and drop-off were handled smoothly and in good time. All tickets and arrangements for the tour itself were handled by the operator without any problems. Highly recommended.
Fantastic guide and driver. Nothing was too much. We were booked on to the later tour. The driver was there straight away and even stopped of at Mcdonald for us to run in as we asked and didn't mind at all even though it was about 11.30pm and he been driving 3 hours and then 3 hours back.
We had a great experience in our trip to Auschwitz and with Maciek as a driver was just relaxing since we had a rough trip the day before. We enjoy the company a the timely matter of the whole trip. Thanks to Agnieszka to make it possible an put the effort for our experience to pleasant. Definitely a trip to always remember. Thanks for all your help. Wggdin M Briones
It's a long drive to Auschwitz and our driver, Maciek, turned the long journey into a very pleasant experience with consideration, humerous conversation and overall excellent service he made this uneasy day a bit easier ❤️
This is a place everyone should go to. Driver was super nice and efficient. The tour is what it is - there are a lot of people going to Aushwitz and going through many buildings with tight corridors. Be ready to walk up and down stairs. Wear your casual clothes and listen.
Great day! The tour was amazing. Maciej was our driver, he was waiting for us outside of our accommodation with a sign. He was very polite, cheerful and thoughtful. Once we arrived in Auschwitz our guide was waiting for us. We joined the group and started the tour. Afterwards, our guide took us to Birkenau, where we ended the tour and drove back to Warsaw. It was a very emotional day and it's totally worth visiting.
I had an incredible experience on this tour that exceeded all of my expectations. From the start, Maciej was fantastic—he arrived promptly at my hotel at 8:00 AM and was incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout the day. The drive was about 3.5 hours, but Maciej was more than happy to make stops for coffee, food, and restrooms, ensuring a comfortable journey. When we arrived at Auschwitz-Birkenau, Maciej introduced us to our tour guide, who did an excellent job of explaining the history and significance of the site. The tour itself was deeply moving and emotional, offering an impactful and thorough experience of both camps, which took about three hours. The tour was arranged with a tour group of about 20 people. On the way back, Maciej suggested a great restaurant for a meal, and before I knew it, I was being dropped off back at my hotel around 8:00 PM. I would highly recommend Maciej and this tour to anyone—it's an experience that I'll never forget, and I would certainly share it with my family and friends.
Our visit to Auschwitz/Birkenau has elicited a profoundly emotional response, prompting a wide range of feelings. I am finding it challenging to process my emotions, which encompass confusion, sadness, anger, and distress. The evidence of the atrocities perpetrated at Auschwitz/Birkenau is compelling, yet it remains difficult to fully comprehend the extent of the horrors inflicted upon the victims. It is deeply disturbing to recognize that there are individuals who refuse to acknowledge the occurrence of these atrocities and that, as human beings, we have not sufficiently learned from these experiences. Although our driver to Auschwitz, Majeic, was wonderful, our guide through Auschwitz left a lot to be desired. I’m not even sure the name of our guide, as he was not very personable. I think we would have had a must better tour if our driver, Majeic, had conducted the tour rather than the Auschwitz required guide. After a long wait to enter, our guide walked quickly, often leaving behind members of the group. It would have been very helpful to have an introductory video prior to starting the tour to give us a sense of the upcoming experience. Auschwitz was very crowded and it was most difficult to keep up with our guide without him using a flag/umbrella for us to follow. He really did not respond to questions from the group and did not pay attention to the dynamics if the group. Because it was snowing, it was very difficult for the group to stay together. The guide was knowledgeable and shared personal relationships about lol prisoners in the camp, our visit was marred by his lack of attention to the group. After leaving, our driver, Majeic took us to a fantastic restaurant for a meal that was most enjoyable. He was delightful and made a very emotional day palatable.
An excellent excursion. Maciej our driver was punctual, polite, very helpful with directions was happy to stop on the journey when ever he was asked to. He pointed out where we need to meet our guides and where to be collected too. The tour of Auschwitz and Birkenau was respectful and informative the guide was excellent in her knowledge and in answering all of our questions. We could not recommend this tour enough
Maciej was my driver today, he was extremely friendly and accommodating, stopping by for drinks and toilets along the way to Auschwitz. When I arrived at the site, I joined a larger group of visitors led by Royal Tours, who did a fantastic job guiding us through the sites, with stories of victims and crimes conducted in Auschwitz. As the tour guide mentioned, it takes two days for the tour, one to visit the site, and one more day to contemplate and recover from the sorrows. It is different to read from books than to step on the site of history. It is a must-see for those who are visiting Poland.
Loved our driver. He was fantastic. Nice, cordial, and a good driver. Did both Auschwitz and the salt mine making for a looooong day. So worth it!
Very punctual and well organised. Driver was great company and had very good english. Guide at Auschwitz was excellent. Downside was that there were hundreds of other people touring the camps at the same time.
Exceptional service by do dedicated driver who ensured comfort along the journey to our tour. This included plenty of stops as well as pointing out some sights along the way in our comfortable ride. Once arrived to tour center for camp tour, merged with larger group for walking tour. Tourist a great overview of the sights and points out all of the highlights with a local guide.
This was our first trip to Poland, and visiting Auschwitz was a priority for us to pay homage to the victims. We debated whether to join a group tour using trains and buses or opt for a private car tour. Ultimately, we chose the private tour, and it proved to be a wise decision. We avoided the stress of rushing to catch early morning trains and buses. The tour was splendid and comfortable. Our driver was courteous and helpful throughout. I highly recommend this tour; it was worth every penny spent.
Our driver, Maceij, was wonderful. A very safe driver, and loaded with information. He stopped when we needed him to stop, but always kept to the schedule. The tour was extremely emotional, as we knew it would be, but everyone needs to see the camps and know their history. We highly recommend this tour and driver.
My trip was good. The company was responsive and provided pick up confirmation the day before. My driver Maciej, was punctual, very friendly and professional. We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant before the tour and then he dropped us off with our tour guide who would take us to the two camps. Our guide was knowledgeable and very through. The experience offers time for reflection and at times the emotions can be high. There was a lot of walking in both places. The tour lasted about 4 hours and our driver was waiting to take us back to Warsaw. It was a good experience.
Very sad part of history brought to life Excellent narration by our guide Felt like a prisoner in there Extremely nostalgic and heart broken at the cruelty meted out to the inmates
Our driver Maciej was a thoughtful and courteous driver. He really made our trip as comfortable as possible. It was an important day for us and having a good, kind, reliable driver made a huge difference.
Maciej, our driver, made our time remarkable. His friendliness and professionalism were excellent. We would recommend him to anyone. He went beyond his duties, and now we can call him our friend. We would not doubt to have him in our next aventure.
I booked this 12 hour tour through Viator with this company weeks ahead of time. They verified the tour 5 days ahead of time. At 3 pm the day before they emailed and asked if we would share the tour with others. We declined, we wanted a private tour experience. At about 7:30 pm they emailed and changed the pickup to 11am. They wouldn't get us back until 11pm! I called and they blamed it on the unavailability to enter Auschwitz with a guide until 4pm. I checked the Auschwitz website and found that there was availability at 11:45 am. They were lying. My wife and I were really looking forward to this. Had they cancelled a few days ahead of time at least we could have found a group tour. Now it is too late.
Highly recommend Ab Everest Travel for tours in Poland! We booked the one day tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau from Warsaw with private transport. Agnieszka sent a kind email with clear instructions about our travel plans for the next day to Auschwitz-Birkenau. Maciej was our driver and he arrived promptly with a huge smile on his face. He was super cool and down to earth. Marciej obviously loves his job! He was a great driver and very safe. He was flexible at stopping for a break and coffee. He helped translate for us too. We got to learn so much more about Poland in our conversations. We want to come back and explore more because of him! We had extra time so we told him we wanted authentic polish food. He took us to an amazing restaurant! The food was delicious!!! When we arrived to Birkenau, he introduced us to the tour guide. Marciej had debriefed us very well that we knew exactly what to expect for the rest of the day. Once we were done, Maciej was waiting for us in the parking lot and we started our journey back to Warsaw. Without a doubt, Ab Everest Travel and Marciej are the best!!
Good driver and great experience! We were picked up on time and didn’t have to worry about anything. Got there with plenty of time and had a great experience.
Great experience with good communication from team and prompt pickup and drop off. Would use this company again and would recommend to others.
Maciej was prompt, friendly, and made sure that everything was as anticipated throughout the day. We stopped for a fabulous meal following Auschwitz Birkenau and prior to touring the sal mine. He was flexible and made sure the memory was unforgettable. I highly recommend Ab Everest Travel and Maciej!
