Our driver, Padro was excellent and made the trip enjoyable. The day was just too long. Leaving at 8:00 am and not returning till 1:00 a.m. was just too much.

Good communication on the overall arrangement of the tour. The driver Paul was happy to add on extra interested spots during the tour.
An excellent experience on the Auschwitz and Krakow tour. Our driver, Elwira, was very attentive and concerned about our needs, which made the experience even better. The guide at Auschwitz was also excellent and conveyed the necessary peace for the visit. Bruno in Krakow was the best, very welcoming and with many stories and history to tell. In short, everything was excellent.
Great tour of the camp and the beautiful city center of Kraków. The tour guides were kind, knowledgeable and helpful. Special thanks to our driver Pawel. Amazing person with who I wold love to go on another tour.
Our guide was excellent. The company had two French speaking persons with us. It was very difficult for all of us. In addition, everyone except for us, had not yet bought their Auschwitz tickets. therefore, we entered at 10:30, but they couldn’t enter until 12:30. It made our day at Krakow shorter than we had hoped. Once again, the guide was excellent.
Superb tour and wonderful driver - highly intelligent, knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. Our driver was important in making the tour remarkable. William
My tour guide/ driver collected me at my hotel in Warsaw in a luxurious Mercedes Vito at about 06:30. We were four passengers in the vehicle which is an optimal number. The travel to Auschwitz was easy and done in comfort. The tour guide/ driver was very friendly and professional. We enjoyed seamless access to the Auschwitz site. Lunch was adequate, consisting of a sandwich, juice and fruit. From Auschwitz we travelled to Krakow where we spent 2 hours on a walking tour with a local tour guide who was very knowledgeable about the history and architecture of Krakow Old Town. We travelled back to Warsaw and was again dropped off at my hotel at about 23:40. It was a long day, but thoroughly worthwhile and strongly recommended.
We had a fantastic experience on this trip,we wanna thank our guide-karol,not just because he arranged polish cuisine for us or his driving skill is smooth but because he is considerate, always care about us and be on time. I would say,He is on top of things. Especially I learn a lot from him,he talked about Poland’s history,it actually satisfied my curiosity of Poland, and love this country deeper. It’s five stars all the way. Thank you my bro,Karol.
We took the Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine Day Tour from Warsaw. Everything went smoothly. Our driver Karol picked us up in a private car at our Airbnb address near old town. He gave clear instructions on where to go, which tour to follow and where to meet afterwards at each destination. He was punctual, considerate and took good care of us. We had great conversations during the day’s long stretch of rides. It was lovely to chat with Karol, he offered lots of local’s insights that were interesting to us. The car was clean and comfortable. At Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine we joined bigger tour groups with professional guides. All of the guides were knowledgable and dedicated to what they do. We would book AB Poland Travel again in future visits and would recommend it wholeheartedly.
Thank you Karol, our driver. Right on time and messaged before arrival. Karol was very friendly, courteous and we had many interesting conversations, including Polish food recommendations and tips for our stay in Warsaw. Although the driving was long it was well worth the visit to the camps and Krakow. Karol ensured we linked up with the main tour group in the camps, had tickets ready and met us when the camp tour finished. He was very patient with everything, never far away, and provided plenty of rest stops along the way. The camp tours were a bit rushed (nothing to do with AB Poland Travel) so you were in a rush to take photos and there was little time for reflection. It would seem the museum needs to keep groups moving due to the number of visitors.
Our driver Karol was excellent. Moving experience at Auschwitz followed by a refreshing beautiful tour of Krakow.
The tour was great ! Jacek is very funny and a great guide!! He explained and told us about the history of each place we visited, and always very willing to help. He was on time at the hostel to pick up us, and we arrived to Auschwitz at 9.30 more or less. The tour is about 3.30 hours (between AUSCHWITZ and BIRKENAU), after that we had lunch and then we went to Krakow. There we visited the old town, the market and the castle outside.
My wife and I recently did this tour with AB Poland Travel. It was a memorable time, and our driver was absolutely amazing. He made us feel very safe, got us to all our events on time, ordered us an amazing lunch, and ensured we had as good of a time as possible. The tour gives plenty of time at Auschwitz-Birkenau, and although we were a little apprehensive about going to Krakow for only two hours, honestly after the Auschwitz tour it was nice to be able to sit and have beer before the long ride home. The driver was what truly made this worth the money and would definitely recommend if you've a couple days in Warsaw.
Great experience! Our driver, Pawel, was fantastic, very informative, courteous, and always looking out for us. In Auschwitz you do a group tour. After Auschwitz we had a traditional Polish meal and went to Krakow. In Krakow we did a walking tour of the city with a guide, who also did an amazing job informing us about the history of the city. I definitely recommend this tour if you want to do all in a single day. A+
The tour was amazing! The driver was really polite and took a good care of us. The tour itself was set up nice. Auschwitz was really impressive and tough to do but absolutely necessary to know about. Wieliczka in the end of the day was beautiful and made a good balance after Auschwitz.
My friend and I recently went on a tour with this company. We had a memorable time and learned a lot from the tour guides. Our driver Piotr picked us up and dropped us off at the place we were staying in a timely manner. He was a nice guy and if anyone had a question he answered it for us.. On the way to and from the tours we were able to stop and take a few breaks. The lunch we ate before the first tour was also really enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone I know that will be visiting Poland in the future!
Well organized tour plan and excellent local tour guide. If any time table is available before the day tour stated, it will be helpful to figure out the tour schedule.
Perfectly organized day tour from Warsaw to Auswitz, Salt Mines and Krakow. All of our guides, Anna in Auswitz, our tour guide in the Mines, Monica in Krakow and last but not least our driver Maciej were very helpful, efficient and polite.
We were a group of four. The tour was for approx. 7 hours in the car. They sent us a large enough car so it was very comforting. Our driver gave us pit stops on the way when we requested and our guid in Krakow gave us some stop at the cafe and souvenir shops for us so we had some free time and learned interesting historical facts about Krakow. Very interesting and comforting experience in total. Breakfast and dinner is not included so I recommend that we bring some snacks on the tour.
Sobering to be there and try to understand what transpired in Auschwitz. Be prepared to walk a lot. Tours take you through the place. Be reverent. Take a small tour group if you can.
Had a very successful day visiting Auschwitz and Krakow. Robert was an absolutely fantastic driver and kept us great company for the 16hr day together! THANK YOU ROBERT!! Picked us up at 6am and dropped us off a little after 10pm. We had a nice small group for our tour of Auschwitz. Our guide Thomas spoke perfect english and was very detailed. The lunch was after birkenau was in the bistro next to the gift shop. They were quick and nice but the food options weren't what we liked, but still hearty. The tour of krakow was a perfect end to a sad morning. Bruno was fantastic, friendly, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend taking this tour, worth it!
I make the Tour to Ausschwitz and Krakau at the 29.01.2020. The driver collect me in the lobby and we drive in a small bus from Warschau to Ausschwitz. The driver was very nice and try to make the tour as comfort as possible. Arrive in Ausschwitz the Tourguide give as headphones, so it was easy to understand everything even if there was a lot of people. After the tour we got a tasty lunch in a restaurant and drive then to Krakow. Here we walk through the city and christmas market and see some Touristpoints. After the tour we got a little bit time for us to look at the city. Then we meet at the bus and the driver bring as safety to the hotels. I can say, if you are interest in Ausschwitz and you have the possibily to go there, i would chosse AB Poland Travel. The customer service and all around is good organised and you can be sure you will have a nice trip with a lot of memories.
I emailed AB Poland Travel to enquire about day tour options to visit Auschwitz. From the onset their communication was excellent, responding each time within 1 day and providing me with clear options to choose from. Having paid a deposit I was picked up on time from my hotel by Robert. There were only 2 other travellers on my tour so we were in a very comfortable sedan car. The trip to Auschwitz was very smooth and Robert took great care to ensure we were looked after. I was guided to the English speaking tour of the camps while the 2 other travelers were Spanish speaking and we were all well accomodated. Similarly when we arrived in Krakow I had an English speaking guide who was superb and we set off on a fantastic walk around the beautiful old city and she was so well versed in the history and obviously so passionate about the town. We had a smooth return trip to Warsaw arriving back at my hotel around 11pm. I would highly recommend the tour for travellers who are short on time and would like to see the views of the Polish countryside as well as experiencing the very confronting historical sites from WW2 and a stunning medieval town. It was effortless in terms of organisation from my very first email to being dropped back to my hotel at the culmination of the tour. Highly recommend!!
Amazing one day tour with AB Poland to Auschwitz Birkenau and Krakow. Everything was so well organized . We are so grateful to be able to tour the unimaginable sites and to learn more about the horrors of WWII. We highly recommend this trip for anyone interested in history
October, and there were still hoards of people here. We went in with a guide in a group of about 20, and had headphones so we could hear our guide. I believe you cannot go in on your own, but have to have a guide. I wasn't sure if l really wanted to go, and if l could cope with the emotional side of it. But l went, lm glad l did, and would urge anyone thinking about it, to take the opportunity and go. You make of it what you want to, it's a very personal thing. Just be prepared for it to be busy. On a practical note, there are a few points where you can buy a drink or snack before or after you enter, a small book shop and there are toilets which cost 2 zloty to use. A sad place.
We loved the trip. The Auschwitz guide was professional. The Krakow guide, Bruce was friendly and hospitable. Special thanks to our driver Robert who took good care of us.He picked us up on time and was very communicative and friendly. Everything was well arranged from email enquiry to the trip.
This was our whole purpose to visit Poland.... long day including travel of 16 hours in total but to visit Krakow then Auschwitz- Birkenau was a small price to pay. I have no words for the humanity that did these things or the truly sad and appalling things that took place against these people.... I knew a lot before we visited but leave seeing the whole truth and nothing but. Surely this can NEVER happen again? Birkenau I found the most chilling as the site reminded me of so much that I had learned and expected from documentaries and reading. The guides were absolutely wonderful they provided guidance and information in a truly respectful way to those that perished. Longest excursion I have ever done but one that will stay with me forever.... if you have the strength to visit I urge you to do so even if traveling from Warsaw for the day. Our wander of Krakow provided a brighter side to the tour, a pretty city with so much to offer, quaint but with interesting history so worth a visit too. Thanks to all involved ... never forgotten , forever in our hearts .over our three days in Poland we found a country that was based on incredible courage to rebuild and be what it is now..... loved Warsaw, there is more to this country than the holocaust so a return we shall do some day... thank you Poland xo
Though I enjoyed the actual guided tours I would not recommend this service. Late night notification of pick up time for the following morning , a driver who could have shared the actual plan/itinerary for the day (such as we would be stopping for breakfast, when lunch was etc) a cramped bus ride for hours and not a small group guided tour at the camps but latching on to a huge other group. The worst was I discovered I paid double what the girl next to me paid for this tour. How can this be ok!
The tour group was 2 people including myself. Communication from the company and the driver for the day were great. But everything else was bad. List of whys. 1. I found out the other traveler paid 650 polish zlotys (about $180 @ current exchange rate) when I paid about $480. 2. Krakow old town tour was handled by a local for 2 hours (1hr 20min of guided tour and 40 min free time). He was good but other tours were offering jewish quarter tour within that same time. Free time was too long. 3. Auschwitz Burkenau tour- we got put together with 3 other groups and was handled by a different tour guide. After Auschwitz, we went to Burkenau. The guide only visited 2 areas and told us that was the end of the tour. When other guides were going further down the tracks. That was a bit disappointing. 4. Lunch- it was sad.
Do not recommend using this company for any travel or tour arrangements. They are affiliated with a Lunch venue that completely engages in discriminatory practices. To make a long story short my family of 2 younger children and wife were basically not served lunch at all while family next to us got full 3 course meal (who were on same tour). When I complained to main office the customer advisor (Monika) took it upon herself to defend the restaurant and say they would give me a "bonus" and provide dinner. Mind you, we had only eaten a light breakfast and had no where else to find lunch because we had to rush to Krakow to stay on schedule...... which to AB Poland was much more important than accommodating what I had already paid for ($1100 tour with lunch included). Needless to say, we took a 2 hour ride to Krakow and did not stop and eat anything. By the time we arrived we were walking around the city trying to find any establishment that served food while the tour went on. Did not really get a chance to enjoy any of that portion of the tour. Children were miserable and we were just anxious to get back to hotel. More details not worth getting into but I highly recommend you do not use this company.
The day trip to Krakow and Auschwitz was amazing, well planned and everything went smoothly, no problems linking up with transport and guides
I just came back to my hostel after that great day trip to Auschwitz & Birkenau concentration camps and Krakow tour. Everything was perfectly organized ; punctual driver, Beautiful scenery all the way from Warsaw to Krakow, Highly professional guide in Auschwitz and Krakow, traditional lunch, good company and much more. I am really grateful for Ab Poland Tours for their effort and they really made my stay in Warsaw fruitful after getting to visit Auschwitz and Krakow too. Monica was a very professional tour guide and such a nice person who is ready to answer any questions. Thomas was a good driver eager to get us there on time so that we can make the most out of our day trip. The company I had was British and Australian ladies they were so friendly and nice people who really made my day even better. I highly recommend such day trip to those who are interested in history and who really are ready to walk the extra mile just to enjoy their polish experience to the utmost. Thanks Monica, Thanks Thomas and Thanks AB Poland Tours
Fair price, excellent customer support, guide had full knowledge and nice transportation. Would do a trip with them again.
Krakow was a very long ride with 2.5 hours of a walking tour. Unfortunately, we had three members of our van who opted out. To wit, we had four other travelers who joined our group and were habitually late and ruined our experience. Moving to the death camps our guide Barbara was splendid in bringing these events to life and we left with a sober experience of what the Nazis did to gentiles and Jews.
I knew this day was going to be memorable, but wasn't sure how I would feel once I was there. I'm still not sure I have absorbed what I saw to fully grasp what humans are capable of doing to other humans and how to put my head around it all. This is a full day trip, 16 hours overall between the travel, time at Auschwitz and time in old town Krakow. Old Town is magnificent and a full day or two could be spent just seeing this area, but my main objective was to go to Auschwitz and Birkenau. It's a powerful experience in my opinion, and you have to see the exhibits to begin to understand the scope of what occurred 75 years ago to humanity. There was so many potential contributions lost that we will never know of. The potential future musicians, artists, engineers, scientists, craftsmen... gone, before they had their time. It's a deep and powerful moment in my life to have seen this place, and I intend to share it as often and as best I can with others.
We loved both the trips. The Auschwitz guide was awesome. She explained to us very passionately. Robert was very hospitable and took good care of us. We left and reached on time
My two cousins and I were very impressed with the whole service received from start to finish. We were picked up from our hotel, promptly, at 7.15am and both the driver and tour guides were very professional and helpful throughout the day. We started the first part of the tour at Auschwitz 1 then went on to Birkenau. We stopped for a late lunch/early dinner later on in the day. I had emailed the company in advance advising them that we'd need 1 vegan and 1 vegetarian meal and they catered for our dietary requirements with no problem at all. The tour, in itself, was carried out in a very respectful and dignified manner and we learned a lot about the horrors that had taken place at both camps. It was a very tiring and emotional day but one that has managed to humble me and change my whole outlook on life. We all need to keep the holocaust story alive in our hearts and minds so that those that suffered and died are never forgotten. This tour helps us honour those who lost their lives and serves to remind us that this mass genocide should never be allowed to happen again.
We had only 3 days to spend in Warschau. It's barely enough time to know the city in a superficial way, but since it might be our only chance to know this beautiful country, we took 1 of these days to visit the Auschwitz concentration camp and the city of Krakow. The trip is not so light. 4 hours in the van can be tough, but it's most definitley worth it. The things that took place here during the second world war, as terrible as they are, must be taught to all people and must never be forgotten. Our driver Jauhen was very knowledgable and tried to make our drive as comfortable as possible. The polish countryside was an amazing scenery, and made even more beautiful by the modern infrastructore of the roads and cities. Overal, we were happy to take this tour with AB Poland and we definitley recommend it!
We have mixed feelings about this tour. Here are the positives : +driver was really punctual and very friendly- so were the tour guides +it's great that everything was pre-arranged for and the tour ran smoothly +no queues and long waiting times Now to the negative: -everything felt very rushed. The guided tour at Auschwitz museum: Literally no time for reading any information in the exhibition. Guide provided us with only basic information that you could read on the captions of the photos anyway. We always had to drag along with the much larger group that we joined at the museum. -same situation at Krakaw. Felt rushed and we had zero free time for even a coffee or dinner. It would be much better to arrive one hour later at Warsaw (after 11pm not much is open anyway) and have some free time in Krakaw. Bad decision. -Lunch was really disappointing. We were thrown at a kanteen (not really a restaurant) and we're served what I can only describe as instant noodle soup with cheep quality chicken. Not even drinks were included. Really cheap way to treat your customers that paid almost £200 per person! -To make things even worse, we were not given any free time for a beverage in Krakaw and on the way back our driver was really rushing. We had a very brief stop at a gas station where the only choice for a so-called-dinner was hot dogs. -To AB Travel: our feedback is to reconsider the basics of a tour. Decent lunch (for the price it should definitely be way better) and more breaks or time for a proper dinner and later return to Warsaw. These would have made a much better and enjoyable tour.
Excellent service and communication. Excellent quality-price. Very attentive and helpful driver. I recommend.
I enjoyed my tour with AB Poland to Auschwitz. Their guide was so professional and willing to talk to me about other camps and on documentaries I had seen. Really enjoyed this insightful tour.
thanks for arranging the tour for us, despite booking so late. We had a great time at the visit places as well as the drive there and return. A special mention for the driver Yauhen who was excellent on managing time and also directing us to places of amenities on the way. He was perfectly on time, onward and return as well. Maybe next time the restaurant for lunch could be different, as this one had nothing much for a vegetarian, not even some bread. Overall, I would recommend this tour and rate it high for its planning and managing to be on time, and very able and helpful person at the wheel
We followed the recommendations here on tripadvisor and booked the full day tour of Auschwitz and Krakow from Warsaw on rather short notice. E-mail communication was very good, easy payment to confirm the booking (you pay a deposit, the rest is paid in cash on the day of the tour), clear instructions on what to expect on the day of the tour. We really enjoyed the day, I just have some minor suggestions for improvement: - Our tour started with lunch at 11.30 am at a restaurant close to Auschwitz (we also had a 30 minutes stop at a McDonalds on the way out). It was a bit early for some of the people in our group, but fine for me. However, the food and service was only average: Tomato soup (starter) and some kind of traditional Polish stew with mashed potatoes/sauerkraut. Only one jug of water at the table. We were not offered to order any additional drinks (or even a second jug of water) and there was no information at all about what the food was. I asked the waiter about that because my husband is a vegetarian. He got fried eggs instead of the stew at least. Maybe we should have communicated this at the time of our booking. - The tour of Auschwitz is with a larger group (so not just the people you travel with on the day). Everybody gets a receiver and headphones, so you can hear the guide at all times. It gets a bit crowdy in the exhibition and the guide was rather quick, so you have to pay attention to keep up. However, the tour met our expectations. if you already know the basics about what happened at Auschwitz, you won't learn a lot of new stuff. Still, I appreciated the opportunity to visit the place for myself! - We arrived in Krakow after 5 pm and met our guide. Unfortunately, the castle hill is closed after 5 pm, so we could not enter that area. It seemed like one of the most interesting parts of the city, so we will definitely come back and explore the city a bit more in detail. The guide was very knowledgeable, friendly and open to questions. - Apart from the lunch stops, there are no fixed toilet/food breaks. However, both the driver and the guide in Krakow offered to take a break anytime we wanted (we just had to tell them). The schedule was quite tight (but efficient!) and given the cold weather, a fixed afternoon break with some snacks/tea and coffee might be a good idea during the winter months. - According to the e-mail instructions before the tour, you are not allowed to consume food or hot drinks in the car. I found that a bit patronizing, both because you might get hungry during the drive (3,5 hours one way) and especially in the winter, a hot drink might make things a bit more cosy. Our driver had coffee in the car in a takeaway cup, so I'd say trust your guests enough to not spill things everywhere :-) All in all, I'd say be prepared to have a long day (we got picked up at 7 am and got back home at 10.15 pm), take snacks and dress appropriately. We had some really cold wind in Auschwitz and Krakow, but I still enjoyed the tour - despite being 5 months pregnant and maybe needing a toilet break more often than the others. :-) Special shoutout to our driver as well, who was driving very responsibly!
Everything work really well. Since the booking until the end of the journey. Peter was very nice and helpful, great english speaker. lunch, not the best but ok. i would reccomend this to everyone who wants to spend a day to krakow and Auschwitz. Very good value for money.
Organising the trip was easy all the staff I spoke with on the phone and via email were polite and helpful. Our driver Pawel was punctual and professional throughout the day. The tour of Auchwitz itself was great, the guide was very knowledgeable and passionate and the young man who was translating for her was very approachable and professional too. The tour took a little longer than expected but it was because the guide was so knowledgeable and had such a lot to say! The tour or Krakow was good too. I would like to give a special mention to our guide here (I am sorry I have forgotten her name!) but she was so passionate about Krakow and about Polish history, she had a gift for telling stories which we all thought was really great. All in all we had a very interesting and educational day. I would definitely recommend to a friend to go on this trip.
After reading another review about a person travelling solo, I decided to contact AB Poland and dealt with Karina and Marta. I advised that I only had only 1 date that I could do the tour. At the time there was nothing available so I'd resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't get to do the tour. Fortunately Marta contacted me the day before the date that I was available, to advise that they had another booking for the following day and was I interested. Yes - you bet I was! I was picked up the next morning and did the tour with 3 other people who were from Finland. The guide we had in Krakow - Mateusz, was awesome, engaging and very knowledgeable. We were then picked up again by the driver. The driver that we had for the day was also Mateusz, we had fog for most of the journey to Auschwitz, and came back in the dark - his driving was brilliant. All of us felt incredibly safe in his hands. Both of the tours are well worth doing, with incredibly guides at Auschwitz. Highly recommend dealing with AB Poland, the coordination of the pickups, tours, dropoffs was perfect.
First of all I was grateful for the company's efforts to get me on the tour as I arranged it very last minute and I was only free the next day. The driver Mateusz picked me up on time and was on hand throughout the day. He knew exactly where and when to meet us. The tour itself in Auschwitz is really worth it. It is very sobering, very sad and very informative. A must do if you are in Poland. Afterwards we had a traditional Polish lunch which was included and very nice. From there we drove to Krakow and met our tour guide who was waiting for us. It's a beautiful place with an interesting past. Then it was back to Warsaw. It's a long day but so worth it and there is a stop on the way there and back to get a coffee, food etc. Thank you.
Firstly, our driver picked us up at our hotel promptly and we made our way with three others to Krakow. The car was a comfortable 8-seater Mercedes but our driver was speeding most of the way. Our stop at McDonald’s was very awkward as the staff there did not understand a word of English and we had to rely on another customer to assist us. Our driver did not offer any assistance at all and this was the case throughout the entire trip. He was reliable and courteous but provided us with no information other than the puck-up/departure time at each place. When we arrived at Krakow, he instructed us to wait for the local tour guide and use the bathroom ina very close cafe. When we went to do thus, we realised that there was absolutely no arrangement made by the tour company with this restaurant and we were expected to buy something which was a reasonable request under the circumstances. The Krakow tour with the nice, knowledgeable local guide was so very rushed. We really wanted to see the square but were rushed through it so fast that we saw virtually nothing. We saw the castle/palace and a church which seemed a shame. We were given zero time to ourselves - we could not even buy a drink!I asked the local guide if we had some time later in Krakow and she said that Ineeded to check with the driver but he whizzed us off for another hour’s drive to Auschwitz. Lunch was quite good but, again, our driver just disappeared and the 5 of us were left in the restaurant. We were then taken a very short distance to Auschwitz Concentration Camp. We were given 1.5 hours there and the driver said we would then be taken to the Burkenau part. We then had a local guide who we had to wait a fair amount of time for - about 20 minutes. She told us that the tour was 2.5-3 hours. As such, we left the tour early and missed most of this part of the tour to do as the driver requested and. Be outside after 1.5 hours. This was extremely disappointing and the local guide was very surpris3 when we told her that we had to leave the tour of the camp. Anyway, the other 3 people stayed with the tour and so we had to wait for them to return sitting on a bench outside the camp. The driver was there after 1.5 hours but he had to wait too if course. We were then transported over to the Burkenau section by our driver where we were amazed that we were given the same guide as at Auschwitz 1. She couldn’t understand why we had left early when she and other people on her tour took the shuttle bus over to Birkenau (which we could have done had the driver made correct instructions). So we continued on her tour at Birkenau 2. After this we started our trip back to Warsaw. Our driver drove e Treme,y fast - this was vouched by himself as being 25km over the speed limit if 140kms/hour. I think that there were times that he drove even faster than this, it was quite scary! 50km from Warsaw we had a flat tire which the driver was unable to fix as neither he nor the male passengers could release the spare tire. Luckily, we were at a petrol station so could stay out of the cold night air. When it was clear that the tire could it be changed, the driver called a colleague who promptly drove the 50kms down to collect us all including our driver who had to leave his car at the petrol station overnight, We arrived at our hotel at about 11pm It was a long day but we saw some interesting and moving sites, The lack of structure resulting in an en extremely rushed a Krakow experience, the disappointing arrangements at Auschwitz which cut our tour very short (by over 1 hour) and the speeding issue dampened what could have been a very enjoyable day. I felt, too, that the driver could have been more attentive rather than never considering our needs and language situation nor privuding us with any information at all about where we were going and what we were about to see. We met lovely people on our tour, however, and they certainly made our day as enjoyable as was possible. It’s a very long way to travel but it’s doable with more careful planning and organisation on the part of the tour company and driver.
I was looking for a day trip from Warsaw to Kraków and Auschwitz. The prices for two people were quite expensive. While reading Trip Advisor reviews I came across mention of someone using AB Travel Poland and how they actually contacted them thru the Visitors Information office in Warsaw and were able to be added to another group which brought the price down. I contacted the Information office who put me in touch with AB Travel. I was able to book our trip while we were still in Vienna and confirm everything. They were very responsive by email, allowed me to make a deposit via internet and complete the transaction with cash at pickup. Peter our driver was efficient, very pleasant and personable and kept the long day schedule running in a timely manner. I was very pleased and relieved to join another group as it made our price almost half of what it would have been for just the two of us. It was also fun getting to know the other passengers. I would recommend AB Travel!
Myself and 3 friends booked the Auschwitz-Kraków day tour from Warsaw and absolutely loved it. We were picked up and dropped off by the tour transfer from our hostel in Warsaw Old Town. The transfers to and from Warsaw were very smooth with a couple of rest (and snack!) breaks and our driver was really friendly. The tour of Auschwitz was very informative and eye-opening (a must-do experience) and the walking tour of Krakow allowed us to see the highlights of the city without feeling rushed. I would definitely recommend it to any friends that visit Warsaw.
