This tour experience was amazing. The admission fee was $25/person ($50 for couple) and included a 45 minute tour. I was a bit surprised that there were around 50 people who were scheduled for this tour (you do not know how many at time of booking). But the atmosphere was fun, enjoyable and comfortable. Our tour guide was enthusiastic, engaging and very knowledgable. He even recommended a book to help us continue the education that was started. Highly recommended.

Lonnie is an excellent tour guide. Very knowledgeable and keeps one’s attention. Easy to hear his commentary and it was a great introduction to Williamsburg History.
Superb knowledge of historic events and cultural period, small size group makes for highly conversational exchanges. Rain was problematic during tour.
Lonnie, our tour guide, was fantastic! He was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. Highly recommend
Lonnie was very friendly and informative
Loved this tour so much! Lonnie was so knowledgeable and made the tour a lot of fun. I learned a ton and have been spouting off Williamsburg facts ever since haha. Would highly recommend!
Lonnie was a great tour guide full of a plethora of knowledge.
Lonnie's one hour walking tour of the main street in Williamsburg was a perfect introduction to the area and helped us plan the rest of our time in the area. We loved learning about the history of Williamsburg and the creation of the village with the help of Rockefeller's financing.
He was so wonderful so knowledgeable great personality I learned so many things from him and I’ve been to Williamsburg five times
Lonnie was very knowledgeable about the history of Williamsburg and was very personable with a great sense of humor.
Great tour with guide Lonnie. We thought there was a minimum number of people to conduct the tour based on Viator's website. We thought it might be canceled due to light rain. We showed up at the historic capital building and found out the two of us were the only ones on tour with Lonnie. He said he does the tour with any number. Lonnie worked many years as an interpretive guide at Williamsburg. Now he leads tours. He is a wealth of information. He is very good at making the history interesting. We learned a lot about Williamsburg, its history, preservation, and what goes on today. We really enjoyed our night (8-9 PM) walk through pretty much empty streets of Williamsburg.
Lonnie is so knowledgeable and engaging!! Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Williamsburg area. I would absolutely book again the next time I visit.
Very informative. Loonie was excellent. Recommend him. He was able to provide additional information and insights into our endless questions.
We wound up being the only people in the time slot; so we ad the equivalent of a private tour. Lonnie was a great guide; knowledgeable , personable and willing to go off- script to answer questions.
Excellent tour. Lots of information. He knew everything about Colonial Williamsburg and could answer any question. Highly recommend!
Great guide. Very knowledgeable.
Lonnie was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about Colonial Williamsburg. If you want to learn more about the area that the brochure and other reading material don't provide, then schedule this tour. I felt very comfortable asking questions and Lonnie always had answers. Highly recommend!
Very informative and interesting. Lonnie was very personable.
We had a 3:00pm Saturday Tour and were the only ones booked at that time. Lonnie was friendly/courteous/good sense of humor. Most importantly, he really knew his stuff when it came to Williamsburg. We learned a tremendous amount in an hour and the tour piqued our interest to read more about Williamsburg history
Excellent one hour tour! We had limited time in Williamsburg and decided on this tour (based on its excellent reviews) instead of the Colonial Williamsburg pass. For us, this was a great decision. Lots of information in a short time. Covered a good amount of colonial history as well as how the preservation of Williamsburg came about. My husband often gets bored by the end of a tour, but Lonnie’s humor and storytelling kept his attention and at the end he said this was one of the best tours he’s taken. This would be a great background prior to visiting the individual homes/buildings but it also worked well for us since we had limited time and did not do the Williamsburg pass. The 9am tour was nice because it wasn’t super hot yet (and Lonnie kept us in the shade as much as possible). Highly recommend this tour. Tons of interesting history. It’s a bargain!!!
I really enjoyed the walking tour! Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, and I especially loved his sense of humor. He made the history of Williamsburg both interesting and entertaining. Definitely a great experience!
We had a great tour. Lonnie was very knowledgeable and answered any questions that we had. It was a perfect tour for our group. The price and length were perfect for our group. I highly recommend it if you just are looking for a short introduction to the history behind Williamsburg.!!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept us in the shade as much as possible.
Excellent tour, the tour guide was very knowledgeable, he had a great sense of humor, hour went by fast.
Lonnie was friendly, knowledgeable and answered questions when asked. We didn’t feel rushed, we saw and learned about what was posted in the description. Thank you!!
It was a perfect start to our day at Colonial Williamsburg. Lonnie was not only historically informative, but was sociable and had a relaxed presence. One knew he'd been doing this tour quite a while, and genuinely enjoyed it! We enjoy taking tours to hear about local history, and sometimes its a hit or miss. This was absolutely a hit. Looking for the next time we can return and get our young adult children on his tour too!
Really in detail and the tour guide was funny and friendly
Lonnie, our tour guide, was fantastic! Wealth of knowledge and fun facts! Definitely recommend this tour!
Our tour guide was great! One of the best tours we have had in Williamsburg. He was knowledgeable and fun to listen to. We were not rushed . Would highly recommend
Great, detailed and fun 1 hour of the basics of Colonial Williamsburg. Learn the history of our founding with some fun facts along the way.
Had a great experience on this tour- right length, entertaining for a 6yo. Great way to get bearings for the rest of the day.
Could not get on the Patriots Tour of Colonial Williamsburg when we tried to get tickets at the Visitor Center. We were told that the Patriots Tour was a 3rd party & Williamsburg Visitor Center has nothing to do with it. This was disapprointing. Maybe they should have posted it on-line to that effect. Thanks.
Our guide was knowledgeable and a good speaker. He gave historical information while being entertaining. He kept you interested. The group was a small size so you were able to hear. We really enjoyed it.
Lonnie did a great job and made the tour enjoyable. No parking where we met up and hard to find him. Everything about him and the tour was wonderful
Guide is extremely knowledgeable, funny, and friendly.
Great guide!!! Very informative!
Lonnie was our guide. Excellent. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. Great insight and history of Williamsburg. Highly recommend.

We were the only two so we got a private tour. Our guide was great. He was very knowledgeable about the area. He was able to answer all our questions. We would recommend this tour to all.
Lonnie was very interesting. His sharing of the background of many of the buildings and the beginning of the Williamsburg restoration added to our understanding of the significance of Williamsburg. The hour passed very quickly but was packed with information.
Lonnie was very knowledgeable and willing to share a lot of information about Williamsburg. It was apparent he liked his job and loved Williamsburg.
It was a good tour. Very informational and fun. It was an hour long and just the right amount of time.
Very interesting and informative tour.
Guide was excellent. He worked in Colonial Williamsburg for years so he new the history of the town, building and people who lived. Tour starts at the Capitol and goes down Duke of Gloucester to the main Green. He was able to gives the facts on all of the buildings, how they were used. A snapshot into the past. Highly recommend the tour. Inexpensive and let's you know what areas you may want to focus on.
Lonnie the tour guide was very informative. Gave us good pointers on other things to see and try. Nice slow stroll down the main road. Learned a lot I didn’t know.
Lonnie is extremely knowledgeable and has so many great stories about Williamsburg. He showed us the highlights and gave us true insight into the history of the area. We loved it!
