Kevin was amazing! He grew up in Alexandria and was able to explain not only the history of the city but also the recent events and developements with some person experiences and perspectives. I highly recommend this tour to understand the history of this beautiful city
We enjoyed our tour and learned a lot about the history of Alexandria. It is a rich history that encompasses historical founding, revolutionary war times with a focus on George Washington, civil war times and impacts, and architecture. Kevin was our guide. He was born in Alexandria and is highly knowledgeable about all aspects of the city. The tour was well paced, allowing us to see a lot without feeling rushed. We highly recommend this tour and Kevin as the guide.
Nice walk through history of old Alexandria, Trevor from DC by foot with excellent, he knew the history very well and was able to provide a lot of historical information in a fun way without making it a boring history class
Taking a walking tour with DC by Foot was the absolute best way to experience Alexandria’s unique charms, discover the hidden gems, and understand the historical significance of things we would completely have missed if we attempted to see this city on our own. Our tour guide, Wayne, was extremely knowledgeable about colonial American history, and added lots of fascinating details along the way. He is very friendly, exceptionally engaging, and the pace was easy and comfortable. We also loved that the tour included entrance to Gadsby’s Tavern Museum and Christ Church. Highly recommend!!
Kevin was a great guide. His knowledge of the history of the area was vast. Lots of facts, stories and a bit of humor kept the tour nteresting. We often take historical tours when we travel and this one was one of the best. Highly recommend. Enjoy!

Trevor was fun, knowledgeable and engaging. We definitely recommend him to anyone who is interested in history.
Trevor gets 5 stars from our women’s group of 7! Knowledgeable, funny and enthusiastic. Even the long time resident of Alexandria in our group was very impressed.
It was a great tour. Off the beaten path of King Street. Informative and interesting. Excellent guide.
This ended up being a private tour of Old Town Alexandria! (Lucky us). Our guide was an encyclopedia of interesting facts about all things Alexandria and George Washington. The walking was very doable (we are in our 70's) and the weather was perfect. I highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning more about Revolutionary War days and our Founding Fathers.
Well paced and informative tour- It was interesting to learn more abut the history of Alexandria and it's importance in the founding of the country.
Good natured, well informed, excellent tour guide — full of lively anecdotes and good info — even restaurant recommendations!
Absolutely first rate! Wayne was knowledgeable and so pleasant to be with. Had fun walking and learning; the tour was a perfect way to see and get the feel for a wonderful area near DC. Highly recommend
Wayne was very knowledgeable and also added considerable humor and interesting tidbits of info during our two hour walking tour of old Alexandria
Wayne was on time, friendly, and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed the trip enormously. Tour was two hours as scheduled. Many interesting facts from a mansion, a tavern, stories of presidents, pictures on his IPad to enhance the information of each location. We recommend Wayne and this tour as a must see in Old Town Alexandria. ,
Very interesting, Wayne was an excellent guide. Only slight excess was the Church volunteer going on & on! But overall, very noce
Our family group of three (2 adults and a 12-year old grandson) toured Georgetown with guide Ingeborg on an early Saturday evening. Ingeborg arrived with baked goodies for all of us to share, and began the tour with a brief but content packed history of the neighborhood and the C and O Canal. From there we walked throughout Georgetown's residential area while Ingeborg told many stories about the neighborhood's inhabitants, pointed out and explained the various architectural styles there, and showed us some of her favorite places. Ingeborg was engaging, well-versed on history, professional, fun, and responsive to our tour goals. We had a great time and highly recommend the tour and, in particular, this guide.
Great tour. Wayne is an excellent guide and Alexandria is a great place to visit. We enjoyed learning a lot of history and interesting stories.
Wayne is a walking encyclopedia on history. Very knowledgeable and a pleasure to listen to. His library of photographs was exquisite.
