So much fun! We really enjoyed being able to go at our own pace and the map they gave us was very helpful. The staff was amazing as well, 10 out of 10 experience!!

Itinerary
Pedego Norfolk- Electric Bike Tours & Rentals | Ride along Norfolk's picturesque Elizabeth and Lafayette Rivers as you traverse Norfolk from one side of town to the other with the peace and quiet of beautiful separated bike routes.
Harbor Park | We recommend beginning your riverfront tour near the southern terminus end of Norfolk's Elizabeth River Trail at Harbor Park Stadium -- home of the Norfolk Tides! (0.89 miles)
Town Point Park - Waterside Ferry Dock | This waterfront park is an excellent starting point to discover Norfolk's early settlers, our founding and early days as well as our naval and maritime history, and modern activities that the park hosts each year.
Nauticus - USS Wisconsin - Pagoda & Oriental Garden - Historic Freemason District | See the Iowa-class battleship USS Wisconsin, visit the Pagoda & Oriental Garden -- a gift from Taiwan to the Commonwealth and City of Norfolk honoring our trading ties, and pass through our Historic Freemason District.
Ghent - The Hague - Chrysler Museum of Art | Make a stop at Norfolk's historic Ghent neighborhood along the Hague, and the Chrysler Museum of Art.
Fort Norfolk - Plum Point Park or West Ghent - Chelsea - Jeff Robertson Park | Riders typically pass through Plum Point Park or the Elizabeth River Trail’s Ghent Loop en route from Downtown Norfolk to the Old Dominion campus. Riders may stop at the Stockley Gardens, visit the Weyanoke Bird and Wildlife Sanctuary, or travel the network of bike paths around Chelsea and along Lambert’s Point.
Old Dominion University - Larchmont / Edgewater Neighborhoods - Bolling Ave | See the home of the ODU Monarchs! At the center of campus riders can peek in to ODU's beautiful football stadium. From campus riders will take secluded residential streets and quiet bike paths as you pass beautiful homes and scenic views along the Lafayette River.
The Hermitage Museum is a wonderful Norfolk attraction, often missed by many visitors. Breathtaking views of the river, ancient artifacts dating back over 3000 years. Free admission (a $5 donation is suggested). Wonderful restroom facilities for visitors and plenty of places to park your bikes and walk around the gardens.
Founded by one of the Chrysler heirs, this is Norfolk's world-class museum, filled with wonderful permanent exhibits and a continually changing signature exhibit, which rotates every few months. Recent signature exhibits included Rembrandt, MC Escher, Paul McCartney's personal photographs and many others.

Great group to rent from. They made it so easy and gave a map for a fun route. Stop at Hanks on the way for a drink. The bikes we super to use and in great shape. Highly recommend renting here.
We had an enjoyable time riding bikes. We did the ERT trail. Very easy to follow. Pedego was very accommodating and helpful. I would definitely recommend doing this. 10/26/24
A group of friends rented bikes from Pedego today and the service was phenomenal. Thank you Amy for making the day so special🚴🚴🚴
We had a group of 4 riding on a hot summer day and it was still amazing. Bikes were easy to learn, helmets added a really fun way to communicate as well. We got our monies worth with a solid 4 hours and 1 hour spend at a delicious restaurant as break. I will do this again and again!
I thought I could update my recent review to add a picture, but I couldn't, so I am adding it now. Also, the Pedego shop is ideally located near the cruise port in downtown Norfolk. The trail map they provided is of the Norfolk bike path, approx 8 mi from downtown to the North and it ends near the Naval base. The bike path was fairly easy to follow once we knew how to look for the small path signs, however, there were a few spots we needed to refer to the map to determine what road and direction the path took when it was along the road (not a separate path), so the map was important. The restaurant area near Chelsea was a great stop on the way back to the shop. It has food, a distillery, a few brew pubs, etc. but check the operating times. Many of them are closed on Monday and may not open on weekdays for lunch, so later tends to be better. We really enjoyed our Sunday brunch during our ride.
We took the day of our anniversary to tour Norfolk. After 28 years it is hard to find new things to do. This shop is top notch and the tour was great.
The bikes were good quality and very easy to handle. Vendors were very helpful and made any adjustments required. The trail on the other hand was a bit difficult to stay on as we kept losing the signs. The trail also goes through a lot of residential areas on the residential streets. We did get onto actual trails from time to time.
Even though they are usually closed Mondays, one of my cruisemates alerted them and they agreed to open for us. I did not have a reservation, I was able to rent last-minute on site. Staff was very accommodating. I had a glitch with my bike and they were very helpful. The bike trail by the waterfront is a nice, authentic way to see the area, through neighborhoods and such, mostly very safe although there’s a few road crossings. You might have to keep your eyes peeled for the trail marker signs in town, but they can also give you a map if you get off course.
Very fun e-bike ride in Norfolk. The Elizabeth River Trail is very easy to get to from the store, and there are a lot of things to see - from the waterfront to the university to the neighborhoods. I'd definitely recommend.
I would give this a five star but I wasn’t crazy about getting a fat tire e-bike, which did not have the torque sensor, which takes a bit to control the peddling speed. Plus with the fat tires it was very stiff and the ride was very bumpy. I guess I compare it to our electric bikes that have the torque sensor and front shocks, which makes it both smooth peddling and sooth riding suspension. Without the sensor I had to peddle hard and fast while in the 1st speed setting to keep up with my wife, who had a regular frame and smaller tire bike. And then in the 2nd speed setting I had to constantly back off peddling or it would I to her or go past her. I guess it’s a matter of getting use to it, but I would not recommend a fat tire bike for a casual day ride. The rentals were in a high quality looking sore, and in a very nice location close to the start of the trail and near the downtown area. The staff and owner were very helpful and friendly. We were on a cruise, and the shop was actually running a tour with a group of passengers from our ship, but we decided to do the self guided tour on our own. We followed the same trail that the tour took and it was really nice along the river and through neighborhoods of beautiful old houses. You will find nice little cafes and restaurants along the trail. This is well worth taking.! Just make sure you get the right bike for you. If it had been a different bike for me, it would have been a five star review.
Great electric bike ride along the Elizabeth trail. The bikes are super high quality and go out to 21 mph. However if you’re looking to save money the line bikes are everywhere and can accomplish the same task for a fraction of the price.
Fantastic customer service! Very helpful! We did a self guided full day enjoying the ERT! Highly recommend this place!
Cannot say enough good things about our experience. We had a large group. They made sure we had enough bikes available. Most of our group had never been on ebikes before. Amy was wonderful in helping us and guiding us to have a great experience. She actually led us to the right route. We loved it.
The electric bike were great! There was a lady working when we got our bikes and who was phenomenal! This a self guided bike rides but she gave us a map of the trail and that was very helpful. Plenty of places to eat along our way as well. Very well worth it.
Shelby was very accommodating and spent time making sure I felt comfortable with the bike. The bike was amazing and I was able to explore so much of Norfolk.
Awesome trip. So much fun. Definitely worth it! Took 3 hours to do entire ERT. No effort at all to pedal.
This was an excellent experience and we can’t wait to rent again. The ride was very smooth, the seat was extremely comfortable and the throttle provided the thrill overall great fun!
Right place to rent a ebike, big selection and good and attentive people running the business, nice riverside trial to bike
We had the best time on our bikes. We rode the Elizabeth River Trail and saw things we haven’t seen in years. The staff at Predgo were so friendly and helpful. We had a great day touring Norfolk.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and explained all the features of the bikes. They also offered to let me take a more powerful one for a test ride. We had a great time doing the Elizabeth River Trail and stopping along the way to see some sites we had never seen before.
An extremely fun time. It was easy to learn in 1 minute and was definitely something I would do again.
The bikes were so fun! We all want to buy one now. I would definitely recommend doing this if you’re in the area! We took the bikes on the ERT trail. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.
Amy Oliver (owner) was fantastic. As we were first time e-bike riders, she took the time to help us get comfortable and even rode with us for a while. Her team was just as great, accomodating, patient and very warm. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend this Pedego team to everyone.
We enjoyed the waterfront, the breeze, and the weather riding the bikes. We had a little bit of a challenge riding the bikes.
These bikes go FAST! It was so much fun checking out the Elizabeth River Trail. Half of the ride was through trees and backroads and half was through the city. We loved checking out the city after living in Hampton Roads for 50 years and never getting the chance. We are sold on the PEDEGO and are buying our own!! So comfortable and easy to ride. I recommend stopping halfway through and getting a bite or a drink. If you get the chance go get on one!!!!
Amy was wonderful, excellent customer service. This place is awesome. This was my first time riding, immediately fell in love. I would give 10 stars if I could.
This was a first and awesome experience for us renting electric bikes. We wanted to ride around Norfolk and burn off a few of the many calories we’d consumed (yes, even electric assisted bikes you can get in some decent pedaling). After trying a few Lime bikes, most of which were either dead or had flat tires or both, we sought out Pedego in Norfolk. They couldn’t have been nicer, the bikes in great condition and actually less expensive than the Lime bikes. We were able to get to pretty much anywhere very quickly and the batteries never even registered use after 3 hrs. We highly recommend Pedego in Norfolk if you’re wanting to see the city in the fresh air and get a little exercise while doing it.
The bikes were easy to ride and very comfortable. Amy and the employees at the shop were very helpful setting us up on the bikes as it was our first time riding E bikes. I would definitely rent here again.
Excellent service. Amy provided clear instructions on how to use the bikes and also how to get around. Very friendly and will definitely recommend to anyone wanting to do something fun in Norfolk.
It was a nice and easy going trip. On the ride out I noticed that when I got up to speed the pedals would free wheel. Before I went back I shifted the gears to maximum and I got the resistance that I was missing from Before. I got lost a few times because the trail was not clearly marked. It would have been nice to have a guide to point out places of interest on the way. Overall it was enjoyable. I don't feel tired nor am I all sweaty. I would recommend this
We had a great ride through areas of the city that we had not explored before. The e-books we rented were great and really added to our experience. Amy and the whole staff were friendly and very helpful in getting us out for this adventure. We had not tried e-bikes before and were interested in riding them to see if it is something that we might purchase in the future. We are definitely leaning in that direction after this experience. We highly recommend this company to everyone!
I enjoyed riding an electric bicycle for my first time today with my friend Rob Capel. Thanks Amy for a wonderful trip down the Elizabeth River Trail.
My wife really enjoyed this outting! It was our anniversary and wanted to surprise my wife with something different. She loved it! The staff was awesome they were very friendly and helpful with any and all questions that we had. We will definitely be coming here in the very near future! V/r Hasene Boykins
The attending staff were extremely easy and knowledgeable. Great equipment. Had a good ride. Would surely do again.
Rented an electric bicycle for 4 hours. Excellent customer service at the pickup, enhanced by the staffs recommendations of sites to see along the bike path. The bike was extremely easy to use and safe to operate with helmets and locks included. Pricing was very affordable with an hour of free time included. Overall I would say an excellent option for exploring some of the sights of Norfolk and so much fun that the four hours just flew by.
So much fun. Went with my mother, who hadn't been on a bike in 30 years. Both owners were working. They were so sweet and helpful. We had a blast on the bikes. :)
Great little tour! We got to see many historic buildings we would have missed. Highly recommend this tour!
Battleship Wisconsin was great...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤the area was great..they were very very friendly. Would love to use their services again.
Incredibly kind staff! Great biking experience! Would definitely do it again and recommend it to a friend!
My entire experience was awesome! Even checking in was cool. I love the staff, super nice people. The electric bikes & Bluetooth helmets are stylish & easy to use. Prices per bike + time was fair. If you are looking for something to do on a nice day, go to pedego in downtown Norfolk l!
Fun, Fun, FUN! This bike shop is such a gift to tourists and residents alike. You can rent an E-bike and tour downtown Norfolk easily and safely on bike paths. The scenery is lovely. Their day trips are also great. They provide everything you need. Don't let the miles on the day trips fool you, riding an e-bike makes it all doable! Even for someone who had not ridden a bike in over 10 years (me...). Kevin, Amy and the entire staff are beyond helpful, you will feel like family. I loved the experience and riding e-bikes, I know you will too!
I am looking forward to repeat the activity on a warmer day. Me and my wife rented the dual bike and we had a lot of fun. Amy was an excellent host and provided all information and help needed. I will definitely recommend this activity to anyone visiting Norfolk
My husband and I rented the Tandem; what a joy! The Norfolk crew was very helpful with explaining how the bike worked. They let us test ride around the block just to be sure we were comfortable. We loved every moment. People watched in “awe” as we rode by on the trail. The scenery was beautiful! The experience made us feel like teenagers again! Much needed fun considering our new normal! Will definitely rent again.
Very fun once we got started. Took about 30 minutes to get our bikes sized correctly and what we felt comfortable on. Had a bit of trouble finding the Elizabeth River Trail. Map could have been more explicit. Like that we had three hours to ride. Two would not have been long enough. Thinking about buying two of our own.
The electric bikes were the funnest part of our stay in Norfolk! They were an incredible experience and the Elizabeth river trail is an amazing trail to follow! Definitely recommended! Amy was so pleasant to us and made the whole adventure so much nicer so head on down there everyone!
From start to finish, the rental at Pedego Electric Bikes Norfolk was amazing. We were on a cruise that changed itinerary midway and were not sure what we would do last minute in Norfolk, Virginia. Based on our activity choice and the five star reviews, we booked the “Elizabeth River Trail 2-Hour E-Bike Rental.” I easily booked and paid online through TripAdvisor and was contacted by Amy, the owner, via email to confirm our booking the day prior to our excursion. We arrived at the scheduled time and she could not be more knowledgeable and accommodating! She answered all of our questions and gave us a thorough training before setting off on our adventure. She even offered to get us to the starting point of the Trail. My husband is a cyclist so he quickly took off, where I took things a little slower. The wonderful thing is you can experience the same ride but be at various levels of cycling, peddling, activity & physical ability. We were free to go along the Elizabeth River Trail and in and around the city. It was easy to navigate and Amy was just a phone call away if we needed her for anything! After our ride, we spent a lovely time chatting with her about Pedego, Norfolk and our exciting first time Ebike experience. The shop is meticulous yet comfortable and you can see that great care is taken to make this ride safe and fun. I’m am happy to have found this gem enroute to the cruise port and I highly recommend Pedego Electric Bikes if you are in Norfolk and we wish much success to Amy and the store!
Anyone who wants to experience more of Norfolk and the surrounding area has come to the right place. The e-bikes were in great condition and the communication with the Sena system in the bike helmet was really fun. Being able to talk to each other during the self-guided tour was simply fun and very relaxing at the same time. The recommended route was easy to manage and shows the beautiful little suburbs and typical American houses that you know from various movies. Overall, a very successful excursion. When we had questions about the route, we received great tips. Highly recommended if you want to get away from the typical tourist hotspots!
